The house was the perfect setting for our party of 8. The bedrooms were all a good size and with 3 bathrooms and great air conditioning they were perfect. The indoor kitchen and dining area are huge and are the best equipped we have ever had. The outside areas are just outstanding. We used the bbq a couple of times and ate outside every evening. The table tennis was fab and we developed a great love for darts! The pool is to die for. In terms of the area, Collins bar is a 5/10 minute drive away and is open from 5pm for drinks on a hilltop. We had a meal and wine tasting at Logeril (Pennautier) which we loved. There are plenty of pizzerias a short drive away. Clearly a car or two are required
Lovely property and surrounding grounds. We enjoyed the pool enormously with everything you provide and also the countryside here.
Cottage du Jardin est magnifiquement entretenu et présente un intérieur magnifique. Ce qui nous a vraiment impressionnés, c'est son emplacement paisible au sein du parc des propriétaires et la piscine paisible où l'on peut se prélasser un après-midi ensoleillé. Le cottage se trouve à environ 5 à 10 minutes à pied du village. Vous y trouverez une petite épicerie proposant de tout pour satisfaire vos besoins, ainsi qu'un restaurant proposant de délicieux repas à des prix très raisonnables. À essayer absolument lors de votre séjour. Si vous préférez faire vos courses, deux grands supermarchés sont à 10 minutes en voiture, sur la route de Montignac. Montignac est une jolie ville avec de charmants restaurants au bord de la rivière. Le cottage est idéalement situé pour visiter les sites touristiques locaux, qu'il s'agisse d'un château comme le Château de Losse ou le Château des Milandes avec ses magnifiques jardins, ou de jolies villes et villages, nos préférés étant Saint-Léon, La Roque-Gageac et Domme. Un ciel bleu magnifique tous les jours avec des températures atteignant 36 degrés un jour. Cela nous a donné l'excuse parfaite pour passer quelques jours à nous prélasser au bord de la piscine et à nous ressourcer dans un cadre magnifique. En résumé, grâce au gîte, à la météo et à des hôtes parfaits, nous avons passé une semaine formidable, mais nous sommes repartis un peu tristes. Cependant, nous savons que nous reviendrons, plus longtemps la prochaine fois, car il y a encore beaucoup à voir dans cette belle région de France. Ce furent vraiment nos meilleures vacances. It hardly seems like any time at all since we arrived a fortnight past. Time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve certainly enjoyed ourselves immensely. We have so appreciated your wonderful hospitality once more - not least the delicious bacon sandwiches! And what splendid lunches we had with two new restaurants we must definitely visit next time as we are already booked in with you for the three of us next June. We especially enjoyed exploring your beautiful garden during our stay this time. A l’annee procaine!
May 2024 A lovely well presented place to stay with everything you need in a cozy, clean house. Pool was lovely and heated for us even in early May. Close to Carcassonne and loads of nice local walks. Peaceful village.
What an incredible home base! We felt so fortunate to return here every day after days spent exploring the beautiful towns of Lot and the Dordogne. We wondered whether we might find Castelnau-Montratier to be a little too quiet, but were always grateful for the respite. The house and its quiet luxury hiding behind the unassuming little gate was a constant surprise to us and we loved every minute. Many thanks to Barbara for quickly responding to our every query. We are already wondering when we'll return! P.S. Viking chess is our new favourite game!
The most beautiful property I’ve ever stayed in! The pool area is great for large groups and the activities are endless. Scott and Rose-Anne are a dream as hosts and are always on hand if anything is needed but no imposing.

Un endroit absolument parfait pour nos vacances en famille. Nous avons apprécié les superbes excursions d'une journée, la nourriture et les vins locaux fabuleux (ainsi que quelques jours de farniente au bord de la piscine!) Nous avons passé un séjour des plus agréables et toutes les informations et instructions fournies ont été très utiles. Nous n'aurions pas vraiment pu demander plus.
Un grand merci pour ce merveilleux séjour à Camirout. Nous avons tous passé un moment fabuleux : nous avons profité du beau temps, exploré les environs, goûté aux délices des restaurants locaux et des fêtes de village/marchés nocturnes, participé aux fêtes médiévales (un moment particulièrement apprécié !) , et surtout, nous sommes reposés au bord de la piscine. Ces deux semaines ont été exceptionnelles et agréables. Merci pour votre gentillesse et votre hospitalité chaleureuse. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ce séjour exceptionnel ici.
We had a wonderful time at Château Grandchamp de Chablis in Burgundy and will certainly be back. All details of both the house and the care of the guests are carefully thought through and attended to and we had the perfect combination of privacy and feeling attended to while there. The property is beautiful and the owners have wonderful taste. The grounds have a myriad of eating spots and activities including swimming pool, tennis, lovely walks and a feeling of privacy. The owners are gracious and eager to be sure you have the resources to make the most of your stay with their long experience and knowledge of the area. A special holiday to experience a French home of this level and explore the extensive area of Burgundy not far from Paris. A rare find indeed!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au calme dans votre maison ! Nous sommes allés un jour à Carcassonne en voiture et avons visité cette belle région. La piscine est super, elle va nous manquer !
Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We have had a fabulous time in the pool, playing pool and losing at table football. We would like to recommend going to Monflanquin for the medieval festival on the 16th August.
Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans l'appartement de Corinne. C'est très propre, il y a toutes les commodités utiles au quotidien, elle a pensé à tout. Endroit magnifique et paisible, superbe balcon pour se détendre. Volets et stores pour toutes les fenêtres et portes-fenêtres pour une intimité totale. C'est un endroit très calme et paisible où se détendre et juste à quelques pas des restaurants et directement sur la plage. Immense supermarché juste en face qui vend tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin, y compris d'excellents fruits de mer. Hautement recommandé.
Perfect peace and luxury. Château Velouse is the perfect place to relax: large, beautifully furnished bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, extensive walled grounds, an orchard, seats tucked away under shady trees, well equipped large kitchen and a heated swimming pool with comfy beds and parasols. The château is far enough from the road to ensure that bird song is the loudest noise you will hear. We had a marvellous week with a large group of friends ( 15 for dinner one night ) and the château never felt crowded. The outdoor dining terrace was perfect of an evening and we sat late into the night laughing, drinking and playing giant jenga! This venue is perfect for a group of friends or family to spend quality time together in beautiful surroundings. You do need a car to get out and about and Bourges is well worth a visit when you can tear yourself away from the pool.
Nous avons passé deux semaines merveilleuses aux Hirondelles, une si belle maison, avec tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin, et Cédric a été très serviable ! Nous sommes allés aux marchés de Narbonne (dimanche), de Capestang (mercredi), avons nagé dans la mer à Gruissan Plage, visité les abbayes de Narbonne, l'abbaye de Fontfroide - magnifique - et un fabuleux déjeuner dans un restaurant à La Grasse. Le bar de Canet est sympa, la pizzeria fait de bonnes pizzas (y compris à emporter) et il y a des magasins. A Raissac, il y a du pain et des croissants à la coopérative le matin et il y a une cave à vin à Canet ouverte tous les jours de 11h à 12h - remplissez votre contenant en plastique ! Nous avons dîné au Somail, des tapas et quelque chose de nature - tous deux très bons ! Je ne m'en souviens plus mais j'espère que vous apprécierez vos vacances autant que nous ! Merci Cédric !
Merci Madeline et Alan pour ce séjour exceptionnel mais si court dans votre magnifique maison, Camirout. J'ai beaucoup apprécié les promenades que nous avons faites et je vous suis reconnaissante d'avoir pris le temps de nous montrer vos recommandations, ce que vous n'aviez pas nécessairement à faire. C'était tellement relaxant et la vue était magnifique. Je recommanderai cette maison à mes amis et à ma famille. Camirout est un séjour absolument incontournable ! Merci encore pour ce super séjour ! Quel endroit incroyable et quels hôtes fantastiques ! Hugh et Ian ont offert à notre famille des vacances parfaites. Un grand merci. Les enfants ont trouvé la piscine géniale et ont beaucoup apprécié l'eau salée, qui ne leur piquait pas les yeux comme le fait l'eau chlorée des piscines classiques. Oscar, votre adorable chien, a aussi beaucoup plu à Lara !
The combination of lovely accommodation, beautiful surroundings and the swimming pool made Piglet Barn a wonderful place to stay. In addition to being an interesting and picturesque village, Vouvant is a great location for the start of circular bike rides and walks. We especially enjoyed the riiverside walk, the Sentier des Rives. The Saturday market in Fontenay provides an enjoyable shopping experience. Many thanks for a great holiday.
Many thanks for a wonderful week, we have so enjoyed this lovely house and the beautiful area around it, we wish we had more than a week to see more of what we wanted, we enjoyed the circular walk through the mixed pine forest, it’s very pretty and only 2 km long. We loved l Auberge du petit bistro in Vinsobres (a 2/3 minute drive), this was our favourite eating experience, while Vaison la Romain was lovely to visit. Many thanks for bringing us to all these wonderful experiences.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. The villa is light, airy and spacious. It was immaculately clean, comfortable, everything worked and there are beautiful views from the upstairs terrace. The garden is very attractive. We loved having four bathrooms. The booking process was easy and efficient. We were confident that if there had been a problem, Ian, the very pleasant property manager who lives nearby, would have quickly sorted it out. The newly installed Wi-Fi was very dependable. With the restaurants in the village and the beach not too far away we didn't need to travel very far from the house - besides, the garden and pool were too good to leave for long! There are also some lovely walks in the hills behind the villa. The heated pool was the icing on the cake as we could swim on the couple of cooler days too. Even my 85 year old mum went in. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and we would love to return.
Nous avons séjourné dans cette magnifique maison avec piscine avec ma famille. Tout était parfait : la maison est spacieuse, lumineuse, impeccablement propre et bien équipée. La piscine est un véritable havre de paix, idéale pour se détendre au soleil. Les hôtes ont été très chaleureux et réactifs, rendant notre séjour encore plus agréable. Je recommande vivement cette maison !
