Great house in a super location. So quiet and relaxing. Loved the coypu in the pond - a bit special! Visited lots of towns and villages with the Dordogne in easy striking distance. Had a great 2 weeks! Thanks!
We stayed in this amazing house for a couple of weeks - 4 couples, with kids left home! The place is really hard to describe because it is so much more than we expected. Also the photos don't quite do it justice (especially the outdoors pics). It is a huge house, with several levels. All the bedrooms bar one are on one upper floor. The other bedroom (that we stayed in) is accessible on the side of the building and has a lovely little terrace with a small table and chairs. Perfect for taking in the sun or simply relaxing. I did do a bit of work there. On the lower level is the huge kitchen, big dining area with a really cool table that makes entertaining fun and loads of interesting living areas each individual and stylishly decorated. All in all it is a big place where it is easy to spend time with friends and be sociable, or retreat to one of the cosy, quirky but fantastic living spaces for me-time. We weren't quite sure what we would do there for 2 weeks as it seemed a little remote, but it is SO relaxing and welcoming we spent the first week just staying put and enjoying it. The swimming pool is great and I did my lengths every morning. The area just beyond the pool is great in the evening for a drink (or many more). The bedrooms are really special. Big and very well appointed. Comfortable beds and interesting bathrooms (ours had a built-in bath). The owner Fred is super friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed by him and his partner and to our surprise the fridge was filled with local produce and there was also some wine and fresh bread left for us! Great surprise and even better after the long drive down! For shopping we went to the closest town and there were 2 large supermarkets there as well as the usual bakeries/butchers etc. The area is very beautiful. The mountains are stunning and we found some really lovely villages to explore. We had a great dinner one night in Sauve. Really cute village well worth exploring. We ate on a square high up overlooking the river below. I could go on and on. The place has so much charm and is so well appointed, we could have stayed for longer. We have amazing memories and special thanks to Fred for having created this small piece of paradise.
Nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour ici ! Nous avons profité des magnifiques couchers de soleil, nous allongeant au bord de la piscine et préparant les repas ensemble. Le chef Arnaud était merveilleux et nous le recommandons vivement. Nous avons visité Duras, Villeneuve-sur-Lot et Saint-Émilion, Sainte-Foy, Bordeaux et le Cap Ferret. Revenir à la villa ici à la fin de la journée nous a toujours donné l'impression d'être à la maison et nous espérons y revenir. C'est notre 10ème anniversaire et cette maison nous a offert de superbes vacances pour un voyage spécial ensemble. Merci d'avoir partagé votre maison.
C'est une propriété moderne, très confortable, offrant des prestations généreuses et de qualité. Nous recommanderions cette maison avec plaisir.
Over the years we have stayed in around twenty different houses all over France - most were good, one or two were very good. But then there is the special one - this year. This house didn't feel like a house; it felt like home from the moment we walked through the door, after a long and tiring drive (and, bless you, there was bottle of ready chilled local wine ready and waiting for us). 'Welcome to your home' it said. The layout, décor and furnishings are delightful; and the luxury of each bedroom having its own bathroom topped it off. We had friends who came to stay for a while and they shared our thoughts. One couple even came back for a second visit on their way home. And then there is the garden – warm, private, shaded when you want it and serene. And yes, the pool is fabulous – it's a proper size. But wait until you see the garden at night, when you have your barbecue and the garden and pool lights come into play... makes the local rose taste even more morish. And then there is Pézenas - ten minutes walk away through a vineyard. And you won't go hungry there. Wonderful town. Only one regret – we couldn't parcel it up and take it home. It is, truly, an oasis.

Thank you for being such welcoming hosts. We have had a thoroughly relaxing week and have loved staying in Loft du Vigneron. Everything is so stylish and spotless. We loved the swimming pool! A little touch of heaven on earth...
Thanks for a lovely two weeks here at Piglet. We have absolutely loved staying here. Thanks for such a warm welcome and the extra touches, too ! We've loved getting to know the village and will miss our café noisettes and glass of wine at the café. And the crepes and ice cream are fabulous. Loved exploring the area, especially the Plages des Belugas.
Quelle magnifique retraite loin de la vie urbaine ! Nous avons réservé trois semaines à la maison et en avons apprécié chaque minute. La cuisine extérieure est fantastique, c'était comme si nous avions notre propre restaurant privé. La piscine était parfaite pour nos trois enfants et la vue panoramique sur les montagnes environnantes est à couper le souffle. Alexandra était facilement joignable en cas de questions ou de problèmes. Dans l’ensemble, fortement recommandé !
This is a total joy of a house. The photographs make it look beautiful - it is even better in real life. The pool is quite incredible - like being in a boutique hotel all of your own. A true hidden gem.
Both properties were finished to an extremely high standard and provided luxurious and comfortable accommodation for all 15 of us (with some room to spare!). It was immediately apparent upon our arrival that a great deal of love and attention to detail has gone into making the domaine the place that it is and we felt very privileged to be able to enjoy everything that the property has to offer.
Pete has been a brilliant host with lots of recommendations. Thank you! We have had a fantastic stay at a beautiful location. With our 3 children (12, 10 and 7) we have really enjoyed Chateau de Biron – lots of outdoor toys / games for the kids + a nice picnic area. Lac de Lougratte – safe swimming / paddling for little ones, a diving pontoon and inflatable courses for older ones. Take a picnic! Canoeing (Canoe Rabaska) + Monflanquin night market at Loubéjac.
Séjour très agréable, magnifique demeure, ballade et découverte d'une sympathique région... Notre Bretagne est belle! Mais votre Dordogne a aussi des atouts de charme et vos collines subliment le décor! A très bientôt.
Merci pour ces belles vacances. Votre maison est magnifique, bien équipée et très propre. La piscine est incroyable, si merveilleuse pour se rafraîchir et les enfants se sont bien amusés à y jouer tous les jours. Nous avons adoré Lagrasse, la ville de Carcassonne et le lac près de Carcassonne a été très apprécié par les enfants. Nous avons mangé aux Vins de Dagne quelques soirs et la nourriture et le vin étaient excellents. Dommage que le magasin soit fermé, cela aurait juste rendu les choses un peu plus faciles mais les croissants/baguettes que nous avons commandés aux Vins de Dagne étaient super. Les moustiques étaient un peu pénibles et la chaleur extrême vers la fin de notre séjour - mais c'est la nature ! Merci également beaucoup pour toute votre aide et vos conseils !

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans cette maison rénovée avec goût et confort. La maison est très bien équipée pour les petits et les grands avec la salle de jeux, le terrain de pétanque et une piscine d’une taille très appréciable. Une grande partie de la piscine est à fond plat. La vue sur les vignes et les champs est magnifique et garantit une déconnexion totale.
We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful home. The kitchen and living area was so spacious and comfortable and the outside space was equally ideal. The pool was delightful and spacious allowing the six of us to enjoy it at the same time. The kitchen had everything we could ask for - literally home from home. The only regret about this holiday was having only one week there as it wasn’t long enough! We most definitely would return.

What a wonderful holiday we have had. We are familiar with the region but La Tourouzelle offers the most amazing place for a holiday: fabulous views to the Pyrénées, a comfortable, well-equipped home and a fantastic pool! There is so much to do here - lovely bastide towns and villes perchées and lots of fêtes and festivals. We have particularly enjoyed the fête at Fanjeaux, the views from the Collégiale at Montréal, a late night walk around la Cité at Carcassonne, the fête du Cassoulet at Castelnaudary and the festival de Pétanque at Limoux. We look forward to another visit.
Nous avons passé des vacances fantastiques ici! La piscine était super, tout comme le temps. La maison était également très bien et très confortable. Le jardin était incroyable, nous vivions pratiquement à l'extérieur. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour ici et je la recommanderai certainement à nos amis et à notre famille.
The house is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The rooms are large and the beds are nice. The pool is perfect and well maintained and the beautiful large garden with multiple seating areas offers enough relaxation space for a group of 7 or more. What we were most impressed with is the beautiful kitchen with a large range of pans and other kitchen utensils. We love to cook so we were very satisfied with this. All in all, a fantastic house with an attentive host who responds quickly to questions.
It's a must at Château Velouse! I have just returned from a fabulous reunion holiday of college friends, hosted at this beautiful Château Velouse. Situated in its own absolutely breathtaking grounds, of forest, fields and orchards, the land is vast enough for an early morning 5k circuit run, plus the wall to wall sunshine and a cooling swim in the beckoning outdoor pool of this gorgeous château, is a definite must for everyone! The inside of the château is something to marvel, with every bedroom individually named and decorated to the highest quality. A wonderful self catering holiday for our party of 14, gave us chance to meet with the excellent hosts Philip and Claire. Thank you both for making us all so welcome, we will certainly be returning in the not too distant future!
Nous avons passé deux semaines formidables dans cette charmante maison. Nous avons adoré explorer les environs. Nous avons adoré faire du kayak et du pédalo sur la rivière Lot. Nous avons beaucoup profité de la piscine et du jardin secret. Un grand merci à Alan et Madeline pour votre gentillesse et votre attention, et surtout pour cette belle promenade. Nous avons passée un excellent séjour au Mas Orbiel. Superbe endroit pour accueillir un grand groupe. Les propriétaires ont été très serviables et chaleureux.
What a wonderful holiday in this lovely home. We were warmly welcomed by Corinne and found everything we could ever want / wish for on a family holiday / parents / grand parents and small children. The weather was as anticipated - hot and temperate at times, incredible thunder storms / blue skies. The pool was a great hit with all and the pool toys, outdoor toys and indoor entertainment ensured all needs were catered for. Finally, a great thank you to Mel for her attention to detail and unfailing helpfulness.
Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique à la Maison Lanave. Nous avons adoré la maison, la piscine, l'emplacement et les environs. Ce fut un séjour vraiment exceptionnel. David et Kirstie ont été d'une gentillesse incroyable et nous ont donné d'excellentes recommandations pour les dégustations de vins, les marchés nocturnes et les restaurants locaux pendant notre séjour. La piscine et le barbecue extérieur sont parfaits pour les grands groupes, les barbecues et les repas. La propriété a dépassé toutes nos attentes et les photos ne lui rendent vraiment pas justice. Nous avons adoré !
We are a family of two adults and three teens and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Le Somail! The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and there was plenty of space inside and out. The pool area is very sheltered and private - having the pool to cool us down on the hottest of days was certainly appreciated! We enjoyed being so close to the canal and seeing the boats sailing past, it’s a beautiful location. There is a good selection of places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk of the house, yet the house was very peaceful and we were never disturbed by any noise from the restaurant next door. There were plenty of activities within an easy driving distance to keep us all amused for the duration of our stay including lakes, beaches and shopping. We hope we can return again, thank you for a wonderful holiday.
We were so impressed with the quality of this home with a high contemporary finish in every room. The kitchen and lounge dinner opens onto an exquisite terrace with far reaching views and ideal for outdoor dinning . Loved the pool area with private patio. This is in the centre of a charming village with all amenities. The unspoilt coastline is stunning and to think it's under an hour from the airport. We would strongly recommend this home and we can't wait to return. Did we forget to mention it's also exceptional value for money.
Loved every minutes of staying in this beautiful house. Gorgeous views and great weather! Wee love the hot tub!
