We had a wonderful two weeks at Château Picol. One week as a family of ten with two small children and the second week as four adults. The château worked perfectly for both. Plenty of privacy for all with a separate toilet and bathroom for each double room. The kitchen was well equipped for all our needs and we were able to produce some delicious meals. The location of the château is ideal as it is very peaceful with beautiful well kept grounds. The owners responded to all our requests quickly and were really helpful. Their recommendations for activities and restaurants were a great help and led to some great experiences for us, including a balloon ride and local
wine tasting. We had a car with us, which was useful to get around, but we also used the local
taxi service, including the 9 seater - the taxi company was friendly and arrived on time. The pool, château and the grounds were immaculate and the outside areas were great for mealtimes. The antiques and artwork meant there was always something new to discover. All in all, would highly recommend and may well return.

What a truly incredible place to stay. The owners were so welcoming and could not do enough for us during our stay when needed. The château and grounds relax you immediately when you arrive. There is so much space and every facility you need. This venue is a must for your holiday.

We have just returned from Château Picol after a wonderful family holiday with seven adults and five children. On arrival at this historical château we were greeted by the owners who showed us around their magnificent château with its beautiful antique furniture. They had provided a Welcome Pack of local food delicacies and essentials. The rooms were generous in size and decorated in keeping with the period. The kitchen was fitted with modern appliances and provided everything you may need. The rear terrace sited a larger table where we could all dine together and also barbecue. The heated pool was a great success especially with the children. The extensive wooded grounds were perfect for exploring and playing games. A tranquil place to unwind.

We had had this property booked since 2020 to celebrate my 70th birthday together with my son and his family. This was part of a four week French vacation.
The property was just as we had hoped. A typical French Château, very roomy filled with antiques. The owners were very helpful and accommodating to our every need.
It was well equipped and the grounds were delightful.
The pool was very much appreciated as the weather was unseasonably hot.
We all enjoyed our holiday and would love to return again.

Nous y avons passé un magnifique séjour. La piscine était tout simplement idéale et nous avons facilement organisé des barbecues plusieurs soirs sans aucun problème (ceci venant d'une personne qui n'en a pas l'habitude!). J'ai particulièrement aimé le fait de pouvoir s'installer à divers endroits autour de la maison au fur et à mesure que la journée passait pour rester au soleil ou à l'ombre.
La petite ville à 5 minutes en voiture a d'excellents commerces et deux supermarchés pratiques, alors qu'un peu plus loin se trouvent d'excellents restaurants. Bref, un lieu à apprécier et à savourer.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Château Picol in early September. What a magical place. Absolutely beautiful house – everything you could need and the heated pool was just wonderful. The owners were very helpful and friendly, advising us on where to visit and how to get to places. On their recommendation we went to a fab market in the local village and borrowed two bicycles to ride around the local countryside. A great local supermarket about a 20 min walk away and the château is within easy reach of Poitiers. We hope to return one day.

There were 6 of us, (3 couples) from USA who stayed a week last October at Château Picol. Laurence and Marian were absolutely wonderful hosts. They are warm and welcoming and made sure that everything in the château was comfortable. They arranged a wonderful wine tour and were so helpful in answering any questions that we had about the surrounding area.
One can easily walk to the nearby village or take a hike in the surrounding farm country and woods. We would definitely return to the lovely Château Picol.
