One of the loveliest and peaceful lodgings of my two week 1000+km driving tour of South Western France. La Petite Maison Générille is nestled in verdant hills overlooking the most beautiful natural and historical settings in all of France. Though it is located in a hamlet enclave that feels worlds away, it is so conveniently located to access many châteaux, stunning river drives with views of the "falaises" - the ancient cliffs, and numerous restaurants found in charming villages that won't disappoint! Alll within a 10 to 20 minute drive. This is a place that you will want to return to again and again!
We really loved the outside spaces and swimming pool and the children enjoyed the outdoor toys. Really fabulous catering. Such a perfect location for a multi-generational trip which we'll all remember for years to come. Thank you so much.
Superbe semaine dans cette charmante maison à Sarlat. La maison a tout pour un séjour estival, y compris la fraîcheur lorsque les températures atteignent les 30 degrés comme cette semaine. Le jardin verdoyant et luxuriant a été un vrai plus pour moi, avec une biodiversité incroyable – un endroit urbain que j'ai adoré. Incroyablement proche de tout à Sarlat, nous avons apprécié nos visites quotidiennes à la boulangerie et nos repas au restaurant presque tous les soirs – tout était excellent. Petits trajets en voiture jusqu'aux grottes de Lascaux, fascinantes, et canoë sur la Dordogne, un incontournable, avec une multitude de libellules différentes et même un martin-pêcheur. Allez, raibh mile math agut (merci beaucoup).
Thank you for an amazing stay in this wonderful house, the view, kitchen facilities and the entertainment available were all perfect. We enjoyed the bbq every night in the garden and early morning swims. The house was equipped with everything we needed we cooked with herbs from the garden and improved our pool playing. The wine tasting next door was very special, we liked the decor in every room and would recommend this house to stay in, its a lovely place. We had an incredible holiday.

De très belles vacances dans cette maison et cette region du Var. Très bonne communication avec la propriétaire et accueil personnalisé pour que l'on trouve la maison. Parking facile pour 2 voitures. Merci pour les boissons au frigo à l'arrivée ! Très belle piscine, une vue magnifique, nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans cette maison très fonctionnelle.
Mia, 7 years old We have had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful house. I loved playing in the swimming pool with my nanny, grandad, sister and my 2 cousins. The market in Duras is definitely worth a visit with lots of lovely things to see and buy. I hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we have.
Une semaine familiale agréable dans cette maison parfaite, idéalement située à la lisière du charmant village de Cucugnan. La maison est bien équipée et la piscine est fabuleuse ! Le barbecue et la table de ping-pong ont également été très appréciés. La maison est à quelques pas du village, où nous avons visité deux bars et un excellent restaurant familial (l'Auberge du Vigneron). Nous avons également apprécié le « Burger Friday » au bar. L'épicerie du village propose tous les produits de base. Nous avons également fait une dégustation de vins dans le village et visité deux des fascinants châteaux cathares voisins. Il y a beaucoup à faire dans la région, mais la maison est également idéale pour se détendre. Nous reviendrons !

We had an amazing stay here in Narbonne! The photos you see are beautiful but the house is even better in person. It was so comfortable, beautful decor, thoughtful touches (like throw blankets, baskets for market, plenty of closet space with extra hangers, extensive kitchen equipment, more...), gorgeous lighting and cozy/high quality bedding (so important when travelling). We felt so at home and enjoyed our down time while in the house!The sunroom was our sanctuary during our stay... our reading room while there... the natural light is so perfect with the back sliding window open and the breeze coming in! Heaven!
The space, the history and beauty of the surroundings. The swimming pool. The range of children's toys. The bedroom arrangements in the house that was perfect for 4 families. Maps and leaflets of things to do in the locality. The fans in rooms upstairs etc etc. In all we are sad to leave!
We all had an amazing time here this week, this house is gorgeous with an amazing pool, fantastic views. We had amazing times at Les Chapoux taking in the beautiful buildings and all the nice restaurants. The hosts were welcoming and gave us a lovely tour of the house. We spent countless hours by the pool soaking in the sun. Thank you so much for this lovely stay.
Un endroit incroyable. C'est un lieu merveilleux où séjourner et Michael et Denise nous ont très bien accueillis avec une hospitalité chaleureuse et attentionnée. La villa était impeccablement présentée avec tout ce dont on pourrait avoir besoin. La piscine est magnifique, chaude, propre et vous voudrez peut-être y passer beaucoup de temps. Nous souhaitons remercier Michael et Denise pour ces merveilleuses vacances, nous recommandons vivement ce bel endroit et espérons y revenir très bientôt.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We have enjoyed every second. There is such a relaxed and calm atmosphere at Maison Four à Chaux! Perfect, We've been spoilt. We've enjoyed dining in all the areas around the house, especially the pool house! We would recommend a visit to Rochefort and Cognac. The park in Saint-Savinien is great for little ones. Boat rider, inflatables and picnics. Thank you for the gifts on our arrival... Yvonne has been a perfect host... great advice and support. Thank you so much.
Le logement est magnifique au calme (quelque part nulle part). Une très belle propriété avec de vieux arbres et de délicieux arbres fruitiers. La piscine est grande et avec de l'eau salée au lieu du chlore. L'intérieur de celle-ci est décorée avec goût. Stan est un hôte sympathique et simple. Pour ceux qui veulent être calmes, spacieux et détendus sont à la bonne adresse.
Quelles vacances magnifiques! La maison était parfaite pour nous neuf, la vue est magnifique et la piscine était fabuleuse. Nous avons été charmés par Najac - le marché nocturne et le canoë-kayak étaient des temps forts. Nous recommandons vivement les plats à emporter de l'hôtel à Najac. Cordes-sur-Ciel et Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val méritent une visite. Merci d'avoir si bien pris soin de nous, Henrietta! Nous espérons revenir un jour.
Thank you for being wonderful hosts. It has been a joy to stay at the Loft and to explore a little of the region. Excited to be thinking of returning in the future when the weather is cooler. What a remarkable project this house has bee ! Spacious and comfortable with fantastic garden and pool. We enjoyed visiting Bordeilles Castle and beautiful river, plus Brantome and paddle-boarding. We loved the market in Riberac, but the best of all was being here. So sad to leave !
Nous avons passé un super séjour à Le Paradis Secret. Très propre, super emplacement et nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus.
We had a truly relaxing stay at this lovely property. Immaculate and well equipped- perfectly combining a traditional French property with a modern interior. Most of our time spent chilling by the pool and enjoying the rural surroundings. Christophe was an excellent host always respecting our privacy but helping us out with things such as a wine tasting and setting up the BBQ. The local town Monsegur worth a visit for meals and drinks out - would recommend that you need a car to get around. There was only 4 of us but lots of space to accommodate a larger group - the outside covered space by the pool giving shade from the sunshine if needed. Wished we could have stayed for longer.

Words cannot express how fantastic this place is. The sunsets, the pool, the kitchen, the coffee machine…all sublime.
It hardly seems two minutes since we were here in the summer - time goes so fast! As ever, we have had a lovely time and have had some splendid lunches at all our favourite restaurants. The weather was really very good for October - only the odd shower. As always, thank you for your wonderful hospitality - you are such good company.
