As you know we have stayed in your house twice. It really is an exceptional property and in terms of facilities, location and aesthetic qualities we could not fault it. The views are fantastic, the pool is perfect and the house itself brimming with character – not to mention that every lamp works, as do the showers and all utensils.

We had the most fabulous 2 weeks - Maison de Saint-Jean is amazing and it is so well equipped that we didn't lack anything at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Orchard Farmhouse and would have no problem recommending this beautiful house to friends and family. We liked eating on the terrace admiring the spectacular view of the Dordogne landscape. Great facilities for the children, especially in the games room. À l'arrivée, nous avons reçu un accueil des plus chaleureux de la part des propriétaires, Caterina et Steve, rien n'était trop leur demander. Nous avons séjourné dans de nombreux beaux lieux au fil des ans, mais cet endroit est vraiment spécial et un parfait petit bijou... l'intérieur est magnifiquement soigné avec de nombreux détails bien pensés, des fleurs fraîches aux bâtons d'encens... Caterina garde l'endroit impeccable, et comme neuf, un second chez-soi! Steve travaille dur pour maintenir la piscine et les jardins en parfait état, ce que nous avons vraiment apprécié. Nous avions séjourné en famille dans la ville voisine de Sarlat avant notre arrivée, ce qui était plutôt mouvementé, et nous avions hâte de nous détendre et de pouvoir décompresser... côté détente et tranquillité, cet endroit est difficile à battre, l'emplacement est fabuleux, et nous reviendrions de suite!
We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...

Superbe semaine dans cette charmante maison à Sarlat. La maison a tout pour un séjour estival, y compris la fraîcheur lorsque les températures atteignent les 30 degrés comme cette semaine. Le jardin verdoyant et luxuriant a été un vrai plus pour moi, avec une biodiversité incroyable – un endroit urbain que j'ai adoré. Incroyablement proche de tout à Sarlat, nous avons apprécié nos visites quotidiennes à la boulangerie et nos repas au restaurant presque tous les soirs – tout était excellent. Petits trajets en voiture jusqu'aux grottes de Lascaux, fascinantes, et canoë sur la Dordogne, un incontournable, avec une multitude de libellules différentes et même un martin-pêcheur. Allez, raibh mile math agut (merci beaucoup).

Thank you so much Thierry and Véronique for making us so welcome in your beautiful house. We've thoroughly enjoyed a mixture of exploring and relaxing. Highlights have included the great week in Chauvigny (as well as exploring the medieval town), canoeing along a scenic stretch of the river at Angles sur L’Anglin, and exploring the châteaux. Afterwards, a day trip to Poitiers and an excellent visit to Futuroscope. We finished each day relaxing in the pool and playing boules. All in all, a wonderful week in a beautiful area.
Both (the house and grounds) are absolutely beautiful and fantastic for parents and children alike. Despite a lot of activities in and around the area, we chose to stay 'in' more than we had expected because of how good the house and grounds were. A stunning location which surpassed our expectations. Both this and the hosts made this into a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. THE BEST FAMILY HOLIDAY WE'VE HAD - Thank you for everything! X
Very nice accommodation. Host is very friendly. Maison Joigneaux is a perfect place to stay when visiting the region. We couldn't have wished for a better place to spend our extended weekend with friends.
We really enjoyed our stay in your house and wished we could have had more time. We spent most of our time in the garden, under the oak tree or at the swimming pool. The evenings are absolutely marvellous with the typical Provence colours and smells. It must be a great place also to spend some time in the winter. At that time it will be probably more time spend inside the house which is beautiful as well and very nice decorated.
Nous avons passé de nombreuses et heureuses vacances en France, mais comme cette année c'est notre 40e anniversaire de mariage, nous avons pensé que nous devrions chercher un endroit vraiment spécial - et nous l'avons trouvé ! La maison est un délice et le jardin est le plus bel endroit où se reposer et se détendre. La campagne environnante est très paisible et charmante et nous avons beaucoup apprécié les villes et villages voisins. L'abbaye de Fontevraud a été particulièrement remarquable, et les châteaux de Saumur, Chinon et Angers, que nous avons visités pour la dernière fois il y a plus de 30 ans, valaient tous la peine d'être visités à nouveau - tant de travaux de restauration ont été effectués dans les années qui ont suivi. Nous avons aussi aimé la Corniche Angevine qui longe la rive sud de la Loire entre Rochefort et Challones, et les nombreux vignobles. Un grand merci pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre aimable hospitalité.
Where to start, we have had such a wonderful week we have loved everything about this house and grounds. It is the best house we have ever hired as a group and Mike and Natalie have gone out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Just to mention a few of the many things we loved about the house, the fantastic swimming pool, the incredible views, the activities provided, the comfortable beds, the beautiful seating areas in and out of the house, the breakfast area, the bathrooms... and of course Myrtle the cat who joined us every morning for breakfast. Best of all it was a fantastic place for Grace and Ken to get engaged to be married! Thank you so much for the opportunity to hire this beautiful home. (This was truly a magical place to get engaged, Grace x)
We had a lovely week in this quaint house. It was secluded with a lovely pool which was cleaned twice during our week. Which was ideal as it was quite windy. We had no faults with our stay and the owner was helpful when required. I would like to point out that air conditioning is only downstairs, kitchen and bedroom with pull out sofa bed in. There was an air conditioning unit in the top bedroom which was satisfactory. That would be my only comment on what was a lovely week that it should be clearer in the description where it is.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette demeure historique, ancienne orangerie du château bâtie sur les remparts du XIVeme siècle. En plus du charme de la maison, celle ci est très bien organisée autour de différents espaces qui multiplient la diversité des expériences. Que ce soit en famille ou entre amis, chacun a son espace tout en offrant beaucoup de convivialité. La maison est très bien équipée, du Ping Pong à la raclette en passant par une cuisine avec beaucoup d électroménager. La literie est remarquable. Enfin l endroit est à la fois un havre de paix et sa proximité directe avec le village et ses nombreuses activités estivales en font un endroit unique.
Merci pour ce merveilleux séjour ! La piscine est magnifique et toute la maison impeccable et très confortable. Éric était toujours disponible pour aider et s'occuper de la piscine et des espaces extérieurs. Nous avons passé un très bon moment et nous vous reverrons bientôt!
Converted farmhouse near Gordes. Beautiful property both inside and out, lounging by the pool listening to the birds and looking at the treetops gently swaying in the breeze is a little slice of heaven.
We are sad to leave this lovely château after such a great holiday. The heatwave was unexpected but the pool kept us cool. Melissa and Charlotte were lovely and have kept the château very clean and tidy. The château was very well equipped and we were all very relaxed here. I loved walking into the village to the boulangerie each morning to buy breakfast and have a coffee on the way back! Najac is beautiful and we hope to return. Had a great holiday. Thank you x
A superb holiday villa that has the WOW factor. Great swimming pool and poolside area with large grassed area for games such as badminton and croquet for which the equipment is provided. Lovely quiet location with good facilities and things to do a short drive away. Would definitely stay again. Owner very helpful.

Nous avons récemment passé deux semaines dans cette belle maison et avons été submergés par sa beauté et celle de son cadre. La maison est spacieuse et extrêmement bien meublée avec tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin pour passer des vacances fantastiques et relaxantes. Beaucoup de soin et de réflexion ont été apportés à la décoration et au mobilier, créant une véritable atmosphère chaleureuse. Des fleurs fraîches dans les chambres ajoutées à la chaleur de l'accueil de Frédéric, le gérant de la maison, et Elisabeth et Marian avaient veillé à ce que tout soit impeccable. La ville de Duras est à proximité et nous avons apprécié les marchés du lundi matin ainsi que les excursions à Bordeaux (en train depuis Marmande), Saint-Émilion et le magnifique Château de Fayolle où nous avons eu un déjeuner incroyable, une visite des vignobles et une dégustation de vins. C'est une belle partie de la France où nous avons créé de nombreux souvenirs heureux et espérons revenir un jour. Nos remerciements à l'équipe de la Maison Baleyssagues pour avoir rendu notre visite si spéciale. Il convient de mentionner le chauffeur local Mark Pope qui nous a assuré le transport pendant notre voyage. Il doit être réservé à l'avance, mais il vous conduira là où vous voulez si vous ne souhaitez pas conduire !
Un grand merci à nos hôtes. Un accueil très chaleureux, plein de bons conseils pour nous permettre de passer un agréable séjour. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié d’avoir 3 sdb qui nous a donné beaucoup de confort et surtout la mise à disposition de nombreux vélos en très bon état qui nous ont permis de faire de superbes ballades. Le jardin est très agréable et propice à créer de beaux souvenirs de we barbecue - piscine entre amis.
Nous avons passé des vacances fantastiques dans la propriété et, pour être tout à fait honnêtes, nous ne voulions pas partir. L'esprit maussade, nous repensons à nos clichés de vacances en souhaitant ne pas être retournés dans le sombre temps anglais, mais à nous trouver assis dans la glorieuse véranda! Votre hospitalité était incomparable et toutes les vacances sans faute.

My family and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at this beautiful and luxurious house. We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous swimming pool every day. Our children, aged 3 and 5, also had a lot of fun running around on the large grounds around the property. Debbie and Rupert are wonderful hosts, suggested lovely places to go and activities we might enjoy and we couldn’t have asked them for anything more. Our favourite places in the surroundings included Belaye for stunning panoramic views, the market in Cahors, Château Eugénie for a lovely wine tasting, Capnature for some fun activities such as Accro-branches (the equivalent of Go Ape), and boating on le Lot river… We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!
