We have had a wonderful and memorable two weeks here. You both have been very helpful and thoughtful. Highlights for us were relaxing by the pool, the great markets at Cahors and Prayssac, the daily petit déjeuner at Chez Lajo and C. using Frans' smoker and BBQ! We are looking forward to returning!
Nous avons séjourné dans de nombreuses maisons magnifiques dans différentes parties du monde. Malardier est sans aucun doute le plus merveilleux. Tout ce qui est beau ou utile (comme l'écrivait William Morris) et la plupart du temps les deux à la fois. Ayant nous-mêmes restauré de nombreuses maisons, nous apprécions l'énorme travail investi. On oublie trop facilement les murs à moitié construits. Ce qui rend cette maison plus spéciale que la plupart des autres, c'est qu'il s'agit d'un véritable foyer. Chaque objet a du caractère et raconte une histoire. Nous avons été étonnés par les jardins et de voir comment les plantes fleurissent dans un climat aussi chaud. Nous nous souviendrons sans doute de choses différentes, mais nous avons tous forgés de beaux souvenirs.
One of the loveliest and peaceful lodgings of my two week 1000+km driving tour of South Western France. La Petite Maison Générille is nestled in verdant hills overlooking the most beautiful natural and historical settings in all of France. Though it is located in a hamlet enclave that feels worlds away, it is so conveniently located to access many châteaux, stunning river drives with views of the "falaises" - the ancient cliffs, and numerous restaurants found in charming villages that won't disappoint! Alll within a 10 to 20 minute drive. This is a place that you will want to return to again and again!
Le Clapier was absolutely beautiful, I’ve been going to France for the last 30 years on holiday and your house was head and shoulders above anything I’ve ever stayed in……The area is amazing and it’s a place that me and my partner want to buy in at some point. We loved the gift pack that we received when we arrived – very thoughtful.
We all had an amazing time in this beautiful villa. The location is really convenient and we walked to all the beaches and shops and restaurants. The swimming pool was lots of fun and the views are spectacular.
We have just spent an amazing fortnight at Maison Labarde in Lauzun hosted by Jean and Martyn. The gite is really well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and is cool inside, even in hot weather. Jean kindly provided many complementary extras for our arrival which was very much appreciated. A great outside kitchen with gas BBQ and additional fridge was perfect for outdoor dining and drinking! The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily by Martyn and there were various floats, water toys and inflatables available; the water temperature was just right- in fact it didn’t drop below 28 degrees for the whole fortnight. We enjoyed the extensive garden using the various seating areas available, all with parasols/ gazebo for shade if needed. It’s a lovely part of France with lots of Bastide towns to visit with markets, fetes and musical events in the summer months, as well as vineyards and châteaux for wine tastings at every turn!! Jean and Martyn were excellent hosts, friendly and informative about local events and places to visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday gite and hope that we can return at some point in the future! Merci beaucoup!!
Le Château Mézard est une propriété magnifique et constitue certainement le décor de vacances en famille des plus mémorables. Je comprends bien pourquoi vous parliez tantôt du château avec tant d'affection. Notre groupe s'est rassemblé pour célébration spéciale avec la famille proche. Nous étions donc mélangés en termes d'âges et centres d'intérêt, mais le château offrait le cadre idéal pour répondre à tous nos intérêts, des plus petits aux adultes parmi nous. Les enfants se sont énormément amusés dans et autour de la piscine. Personnellement, j'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à me promener dans les magnifiques jardins et à admirer des paysages à couper le souffle. Laurent, Didier et Rachel ont fait de leur mieux pour que nous passions un merveilleux moment et rien n'était trop leur demander.
Nos vacances la semaine dernière dans cette belle propriété n'ont été qu'une expérience 5 étoiles. Thierry et Philippe nous ont tout fourni à un standard aussi élevé que professionnel. La maison et la piscine étaient parfaites à tous points de vue. Si paisible et relaxant, nous y retournerions sans hésiter et conseillerions à quiconque souhaite réserver de le faire.
Your house has been such a beautiful place to spend a week of our holiday. We've loved every minute - so much so that we didn't go far from Le Chambarru. The attention to detail was fantastic - from the decor to the 'welcome basket' to our name on the gate. The only thing missing was that we only stayed for 7 nights. Thank you so much - we hope very much to return soon.
We has the most amazing time at Domaine du Château! The pictures do not do the beautiful property justice, on site and surrounding areas very well kept and very quintessential, especially views during afternoon pool time! Each room is very comfortable and luxuriously appointed. Great thought went into unique details of each room and space and privacy for a large group. The best part of the whole experience was the wonderful staff, who produced incredible meals for us and made sure that our every need was met. It was a vacation that we will not soon forget. Wonderful stay and would recommend this property to anyone who wanted to immerse into the French wine country.

Wow ! Totally surpassed our expectations. The attention to detail is amazing. This place is truly unique, the decor and furnishings are beautiful. The outside space is spectacular. I could ramble on for hours about our stay, not to mention all the incredible things to do in the surrounding area.
Thank you for welcoming us to this little piece of heaven that is Colombat Cottage. We loved the magical evening that we spent stargazing. We hope to visit you again soon and wish you well.

Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique à la Maison Brunet malgré la canicule. Nous sommes allés explorer de belles bastides et savourer une cuisine délicieuse sur les marchés locaux. C'était agréable de rentrer après une journée chaude et de se rafraîchir dans la piscine.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en mars dans cette grande maison très bien aménagée et superbement équipée pour accueillir notre groupe de 11 personnes. De belles prestations dans la maison, de la literie de qualité et un paradis pour les enfants. Avec sa grande piscine, ses deux terrasses et ses nombreux jeux de plein air, le domaine doit être encore plus apprécié en saison estivale. Nous recommandons chaudement cette location, idéale pour les grandes familles ou les groupes d'amis. Nous avons pu découvrir un cadre enchanteur dans la région . Nous avons apprécié le calme et la beauté de la campagne environnante. Evidemment, nous n'avons pas pu résister à l'envie de déguster les extraordinaires produits locaux (vins, gastronomie, ...). Un endroit exceptionnel dans lequel nous reviendrons passer des vacances.
It's been such a privilege to stay in your beautiful home. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to enjoy it. We enjoyed experiencing the art, the atmosphere, the views and the comfort. We really appreciated your very generous gift of wine and provisions. The village is lively and we have made good use of all it has to offer. terrific choice of the alimentation, delightful terrace and delicious food at the Bar de Prores and a timely haivent at Tiffany's Satin. We recommend a trip to Uzes, Nîmes and Avignon and had a delicious lunch on the banks of the Gardon at Colias on the way to the Pont du Gard. Also, do try the real wine from La Grappe d'Or in the village.

Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house - we have all enjoyed the beautiful home and gardens and all the attention to detail. We very much enjoyed the night market in Laparade although not really a market but more a fiesta! Very much recommend. A fantastic stay and wonderful house!
Hi, we had a fabulous stay as a family of 4, including two teens. Completely peaceful and beautifully renovated to a very high standard. We found it hard to leave to do other activities, although the Saturday market in Auch was lovely, Aside from the pool and space, the complete plus for us was watching the wildlife. Hare, rabbits, deer and owls coming in the evening, with the widest range of birds of prey flying over that we’ve ever seen. Luckily we’d brought the camera and spent time every day trying to get good pictures.. Michelle was a great host and really took time and care to make sure we had everything we needed for a super stay! We’d love to return..

La villa est joliment décorée et nous l'avons tous trouvée très confortable. Nous avons passé deux belles semaines à explorer les environs, sans une seule minute de télévision ! What a lovely place to spend two weeks relaxing and enjoying each other’s company, the views from the table are a wonderful backdrop for every meal and the swimming pool has given hours of fun for the children and adults alike. Nyons market on a Thursday and Saturday was great with lots of variety and wonderful hustle and bustle. We would love to visit another time.
Une très agréable semaine passée dans cette maison chaleureuse et cosy. Un bel environnement pour une maison tout le confort.
Nous attendions beaucoup de ces vacances et nous n'avons pas été déçus. La propriété est un véritable joyau historique dans une région chargée d'histoire. Dès notre arrivée, accueillis par un couple avec qui vous sembliez être amis depuis toujours, le stress du quotidien s'est envolé. Nous nous sommes immédiatement sentis comme chez nous et avons rapidement planifié notre prochain séjour. De l'extérieur, le gîte est digne d'une carte postale et aucun détail n'a été négligé. L'intérieur conserve son charme historique, tout en offrant toutes les commodités nécessaires pour vous éviter de vivre le style de vie médiéval de nombreux hébergements ruraux en France. Les chambres sont joliment décorées avec goût et disposent de grandes salles de bain et douches (à l'étage et au rez-de-chaussée). La piscine privée est superbe et nous en étions les seuls occupants. Ses eaux claires, sous les pins et sous un ciel bleu, étaient idylliques. Difficile de détacher ma femme du bord de la piscine. Le gîte s'intègre parfaitement dans une région d'une beauté exceptionnelle, où la plupart des sites que nous souhaitions visiter se trouvent à seulement quelques minutes. Les propriétaires étaient très accueillants et nous ont donné de bons conseils sur les lieux à visiter, sans être envahissants, ce qui nous a permis de profiter d'une intimité totale. Nous avons apprécié chaque instant de notre séjour et nous le recommandons chaudement. Si vous souhaitez visiter la région, découvrir les 1 000 châteaux et les innombrables sites préhistoriques, ou simplement vous détendre au bord de la piscine, cet endroit est fait pour vous. Thank you again for opening your home to us this summer. We all really needed a vacation and the house was a superb way to relax and enjoy perfect weather. We all had a great time and fully enjoyed the house and the property. The overall layout of the house and inside the rooms is very thoughtful and was perfect for all of us. We had three families, 4 kids of different ages and a grandma. The different spaces allowed us to handle the different kid routines and moods in a way that gave everyone privacy. The kitchen is large and extremely well furnished. Makes it comfortable to cook for large groups. The pool is actually enormous. The way Patrick takes care of it seems to produce much better results than I have seen in other places: the water stayed clear all the way through. The pool house is an incredibly valuable area, especially because it is so well furnished, this is a serious luxury. The small supermarket in St-Antonin-du-Var is surprisingly good, if you are not a big cook you could totally live off this (they opened on Sunday am!). We also organised a Casino home delivery for the day before we arrived. We used P and Geraldine for 16 hours a week, to get the kitchen cleaned, make the beds, light housekeeping, remove rubbish, clean the BBQ and pool house areas and this made a huge positive difference.

Merci beaucoup pour ce merveilleux séjour au Malardier et merci aussi pour votre aimable hospitalité mercredi soir. Nous avons adoré visiter le château de Bourdeilles et avons également passé une très agréable matinée à Aubeterre sur Dronne, nous recommandons vivement les deux. Nous avons adoré la paix et la tranquillité du Malardier, empreint d'histoire, avec des vues magnifiques et nous espérons vraiment que nous aurons l'occasion d'y revenir.
