Beautiful location really nice house, swimming pool is delightful. Large safe garden for children. Remote but easy to find and within easy driving distance of all the facilities you need for a great holiday.
We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Fitou, staying in this lovely and comfortable villa. I agree with other reviewers, the pictures do not do the property justice. It is spacious with a very high finish throughout maintaining a very homely feel. Our party consisted of 2 families with 4 kids (6, 6, 2 and 2), they loved it. As for the area, well it's a really special region of France. The location is perfect for day trips to the regions finest attractions (Carcassonne, Collioure, Gruissan etc...) and equally relaxing staying local. Fitou and nearby Leucate Village are charming and the local beaches are lovely, unspoilt and crowd free. There is as much or as little to do here as you'd like. We will certainly be coming back to the area and hopefully to this villa again.
Tout est fantastique, la maison est encore mieux que sur les photos et on remarque l'affection qu'on lui a donnée dans les moindres détails. Il a tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin et les appareils sont de grandes marques. Nous y sommes allés avec beaucoup d'enfants et ils ont passé un bon moment. Un grand merci aux hôtes et nous espérons revenir bientôt.
We had such a grat time here! We are only sorry that our stay wasn't longer. The children loved the house and especially the swimming pool. Hopefully we will be back!

Superbe distillerie de luxe reconvertie en maison de campagne à Challignac. Mobilier et équipements haut de gamme. Magnifique décoration intérieure, entièrement climatisée et dotée d'une superbe piscine extérieure chauffée avec terrasse spacieuse, chaises longues et canapés, d'un coin repas extérieur avec barbecue, d'un terrain de pétanque et d'une aire de jeux pour enfants, le tout entouré de magnifiques jardins et d'une campagne paisible et époustouflante. C'était un vrai plaisir de s'asseoir avec un café le matin, en regardant les chevreuils se promener dans le champ devant la maison. Les lits étaient les plus confortables que nous ayons jamais eus, les douches étaient fantastiques, tout était impeccable. Gary et Mark ont rendu notre semaine encore plus spéciale grâce à leurs fabuleuses recommandations de lieux à visiter et d'excellents restaurants à proximité. Ils ont répondu immédiatement à toutes nos demandes, tout en respectant notre vie privée, sauf si nous les contactions. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit et nous réservons déjà pour l'année prochaine.
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. Vous pouvez toujours continuer à rechercher d'autres maisons de vacances dans le sud de la France, mais cela n'en vaut pas la peine. Merci aux propriétaires pour deux semaines de vacances parfaites dans leur charmante maison, où rien ne manque.
Une belle maison agréable et très bien équipée. Jardin et piscine bien entretenus. Nous n'oublierons pas non plus cette belle colline et cette merveilleuse région. Pour ne pas parler du mémorable match de ping-pong et du babyfoot!
Spacious, comfortable and stylish. The house has a super atmosphere. It’s really spacious, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms and bathrooms have all you need. The pool was spotless and such a treat that it’s just yours to use. The house sits very near to the village. Just a couple of minutes walk to the Square and the little market that seems to visit every Saturday and on two other days too. You can get all you need from there or from the little super market nearby. The terrace was fab for eating our meals outside and just off the kitchen. Bbq worked well too. Over all it was definitely a 10 out of 10 stay. The owners have thought of everything. We really loved the enormous wall hangings.
This villa was the perfect place for a two family holiday. The pool was very cool and refreshing after a hot day of sight-seeing / shopping! The whole two week trip was plenty relaxing and a lot of fun! This house is gorgeous. We will not forget this trip! P.S. a great pizza place down the road!
Merveilleux séjour dans une belle maison. La maison était très confortable et la piscine était super. Nous avons passé du temps dans les villes/villages voisins. Pézenas, Vias, Béziers et le Cap d'Agde. Le marché du dimanche matin à Besson est incontournable. La région est idéale pour faire du vélo avec tous les villages voisins facilement accessibles. Très tristes de partir. Merci beaucoup.

Une autre semaine fabuleuse au Malardier. Un endroit vraiment spécial qui nous a encore procuré bien d'autres souvenirs très heureux! Merci beaucoup de nous faire partager cette belle maison. My extended family and I very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. The house itself is a magnificent old stone building, which has been decorated in a very elegant manner. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and we very much appreciated the coffee machine. Younger family members enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. Being an old house, it does have some quirks, but these are very much outweighed by the charm and grandeur of the rooms and outdoor areas. The location is scenic and peaceful - but within reasonable driving distance of area attractions such as Lascaux and villages along the Dordogne. The local village is lovely, with a handy small supermarket, great boulangerie and several restaurants. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Merci de nous permettre de profiter de votre jolie villa. Le cadre élégant de Baleyssagues a contribué à rendre nos vacances ici à Duras très relaxantes. Le site à flanc de colline était le lieu idéal pour admirer de superbes couchers et levers de soleil et les étoiles filantes. C'était dommage de repartir...

Tortoise name suggestions:- Sherman Victor Esio Trot (anagram for tortoise + book +TV show!) Sheldon (The Big Bang Theory TV). We have enjoyed a wonderful week in your stunning house. Mostly enjoying the weather and pool! We have seen the red squirrel, lizards, water vole and many birds. It's so peaceful and beautiful, we will miss it.

Whaou! La première fois que j'ai vu les photos je l'ai trouvé splendide, mais quand nous sommes arrivés, c'était encore plus magnifique. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour. Debbie et Brent sont d'une gentillesse absolue et nous ont fait nous sentir les bienvenus. Les jardins sont si pittoresques! C'était nos premières vacances avec notre enfant d'1 an et nous ne pouvions pas rêver mieux comme vacances. Merci La Bastide!
Quelle belle semaine passée dans cette incroyable villa. Philippe a été l'hôte le plus incroyable et le plus gentil. Rien n'est trop compliqué pou lui. Merci pour tout. Le repas au Pourquoi Pas était exceptionnel ! Une belle région de France à explorer. Nous sommes allés à Béziers, Carcassonne, Vendres et Capestang. Tout était charmant. Les vélos étaient également parfaits pour explorer la région. Merci beaucoup ! Nous espérons revenir.

Gorgeous. Very well maintained, yet still updated with modern amenities. All in all, an amazing stay and trip and we'd recommend Château Charente to anyone touring the area.
La piscine et le jardin sont beaux et bien entretenus. Le salon principal est lumineux et aéré. La buanderie a été très utile. L'endroit est calme et paisible.
We have had at the perfect family holiday at Le Manoir de Duras. The tomatoes from the garden were a delicious bonus! We all loved the pool and laying on the sun beds late a night watching the stars. Has some great meals in town and daily boulangerie too. A trip to the chocolate factory is a must. perfect on a rainy day for the kids! The house is absolutely stunning. were all agree one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you.
