In 25 years of renting houses for our summer holidays, Château Mabrouke truly topped the lot! Ed and Katie have kept it as a family home which gives the house a lovely ambiance and makes it so welcoming and interesting. We loved the artworks, both in the house and the garden. The guide to the house, helpfully shared in advance, was comprehensive. It meant we weren't struggling to work anything out for ourselves and the information on the local area was really helpful. The local team gave us a lovely welcome too and looked after us flawlessly throughout our stay. The rooms all have great character and were very comfortable indeed. The hilltop setting gives outstanding vistas all round and the terraces surrounding the house and pool offered the best of the sun at all points of the day, particularly sunsets at dinner. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the cooker is fabulous. Martin and Philippa, who Katie recommended, cooked a wonderful meal for us and were thoroughly engaging company. There is so much to do, in and around the house and in the local area, that it was hard to do it all justice in a mere two weeks. A day's white water rafting and kayaking with Eau Vive at Foix was a big highlight.
Ma famille et moi avons passé 2 superbes semaines à la Maison Charvin. Quelles vacances fantastiques nous avons eues. Les indications pour trouver la maison étaient simples et faciles à suivre. La maison était impeccablement propre et équipée de tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin, ce qui était un soulagement bienvenu après le long trajet. En tant que cuisinière passionnée, mon amie a aimé nous y préparer de délicieux repas tout au long de notre séjour. Mes enfants sont tombés amoureux de la maison (ils ont chacun apprécié d'avoir leur chambre !) et de la piscine et ne voulaient plus partir ! Les faits remarquables de nos vacances incluent: Se promener dans la belle cité fortifiée de Carcassonne Monter jusqu'aux ruines du château de Quéribus, l'un des châteaux cathares, situé au sommet d'un des plus hauts sommets des Pyrénées. Des vues à couper le souffle et cela vaut bien l'effort ! Un repas unique à l'Auberge du Vieux Puits, restaurant 3 étoiles Michelin à Fontjoncouse. À seulement 30 minutes en voiture de Mason Charvin. La Franqui – quelle plage fabuleuse. Beaux restaurants et boutiques en front de mer. Vaut vraiment le détour! La piscine! Le vin! Et le dernier mais non le moindre, Sharon. Une hôte fantastique qui a continuellement fait des efforts pour s'assurer que nous profitions de nos vacances. Je ne peux pas la noter assez bien et j'espère un jour retourner à Montlaur et à la Maison Charvin! Merci Sharon d'avoir partagé votre belle maison et pour tout ce que vous avez fait pour nous.
Just wanted to say what a wonderful property Moulin de Terrac is. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Probably the best property we have stayed in since we started holidaying in France 16 years ago. And also what a great manager Bonnie was – really helpful and friendly.
Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique à la Maison Lanave. Nous avons adoré la maison, la piscine, l'emplacement et les environs. Ce fut un séjour vraiment exceptionnel. David et Kirstie ont été d'une gentillesse incroyable et nous ont donné d'excellentes recommandations pour les dégustations de vins, les marchés nocturnes et les restaurants locaux pendant notre séjour. La piscine et le barbecue extérieur sont parfaits pour les grands groupes, les barbecues et les repas. La propriété a dépassé toutes nos attentes et les photos ne lui rendent vraiment pas justice. Nous avons adoré !
Quelle maison fantastique dans un endroit si charmant ! Nous avons passé des vacances vraiment merveilleuses et avons apprécié de visiter les châteaux et villages locaux. Jackie a répondu très rapidement aux messages. Maison et piscine, tout ce dont nous avions besoin a été fourni. Nous aimerions certainement y revenir un jour. Merci beaucoup.
La maison était fantastique et avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin pour notre séjour - nous avons adoré! Nous souhaiterions seulement pouvoir rester plus longtemps!
Au fil des ans, nous avons passé des vacances en famille dans de nombreuses villas françaises et La Charmante Distillerie surpasse sans conteste toutes les autres. La qualité de l'hébergement, tant sur le plan pratique qu'esthétique, est irréprochable : la climatisation fonctionne parfaitement et silencieusement, le chargeur de voiture (22 kW) était excellent (nous avions deux véhicules électriques), la qualité des équipements est irréprochable, les lits confortables et les quatre salles de bain impeccables. La décoration et les œuvres d'art sont également très agréables. À l'extérieur, le terrain est magnifique, les jardins bien entretenus et la piscine vaste et parfaitement équipée. Nous avons passé de nombreux déjeuners agréables sous le joli auvent et profité de l'excellent barbecue à plancha. Mark et Gary ont été extrêmement accueillants et généreux avec les provisions et les boissons qui nous étaient laissées. Nous n'avons rien laissé de côté ! En résumé, un merveilleux second chez-soi pour passer du temps en famille – nous étions deux chacun sur trois générations, et nous ne nous sommes jamais disputés. Je ne peux pas recommander suffisamment La Charmante Distillerie, et c'est dommage que nous n'ayons pu y rester qu'une semaine.
Un château de conte de fées situé sur les collines de Saint Mézard. Simplement merveilleux! Facile d'accès depuis Toulouse, Château Mézard etait le parfait camp de base pour explorer les jolis villages aux alentours qui offrend le meilleur en matière de gastronomie et de vins locaux. Un petit Armagnac au coucher du soleil, dîner au chandelles sur l'un des nombreuses terrasses nous ont fait nous sentir comme des princes.
Domaine exceptionnel, je recommande vivement ! Les chambres sont très confortables, la literie est impeccable et les hôtes sont très accueillants. Si vous cherchez à découvrir la Dordogne, ses grottes, ses châteaux, ses spécialités culinaires (délicieuses !), ou si vous souhaitez simplement vous détendre dans un havre de paix, Le Manoir de la Compagnie est le lieu tout indiqué.
Superbe endroit ! Les chambres sont au top, la cuisine bien équipée, table de billard, jeu de palet, vidéo projecteur, parfait !
At Les Oliviers du Sud we felt like God in France as usual. From the sunny terrace, with a glass of wine in hand, a cheese nearby, we enjoyed the vines in the valley below us in ‘deafening’ silence, watched the olives come out of the blossom and listened to the cheerful twittering of the birds. The flat of the ever friendly and helpful hosts Esther and Leonard is furnished with taste. A touch of nostalgia with the look of today. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is comfortable. Everything not only looks new, but is new. From the first moment, we felt at home here. The nearby forests invite you to go for a nice walk. By the way, you can walk everywhere in the area. Tip: the route along the medieval village of La Roque-sur-Ceze with the waterfalls nearby. In the village of Tresques, near Domaine Cadignac, we imagined ourselves in the France of old. A medieval tower with an exhibition of contemporary art, a bakery and grocery shop, a water spring where the villagers tap their daily drinking water and a good winemaker. Where do you still find these villages? The residence is conveniently located for visiting larger cities. Half an hour’s drive and you are in Orange with memories of the Dutch royal house or in the papal city of Avignon, where you can browse in one of those real French bric-a-brac markets in a suburb every Saturday morning. Or you can walk around Nîmes Collesseum after an hour’s drive and have visited the impressive aqueduct built by Romans on the way there. The ancient city centre of Nîmes and of historic Avignon are also an eldorado for funshoppers. In short, the fully equipped and rustic L'Oliveraie was an ideal base for us to (re)discover French nature and culture. We will definitely come back here again!
Went to this beautiful holiday cottage for the second time. What a great experience again this time. We were warmly welcomed and our house felt like coming home again. Host and hostess Leo and Esther gave us great tips so that our holiday became a great experience again. The visit to Nîmes was impressively beautiful. I especially recommend visiting Avignon to everyone with its beautiful center and the cozy terraces around the market square. The swimming pool overlooking the vineyards is a pearl. The silence descends on you wonderfully in the evening. Truly unique. Thank you for another great holiday.
Tout à la propriété était mieux que prévu. Les chambres étaient grandes, propres et merveilleusement décorées. Les lits et les draps étaient de premier choix. La cuisine et les pièces de vie étaient toutes bien aménagés et disposaient de tout ce dont vous auriez pu avoir besoin. La buanderie disposait de 2 lave/sèche-linge ! La piscine d'eau salée était magnifique avec de nombreux jouets de piscine, table de ping-pong, etc. La région était magnifique, parfaite pour les vélos électriques que nous avons loués et nous avons apprécié les charmants villages à quelques minutes en voiture : Cotignac, La Celle et bien d'autres. Thomas, le concierge, était serviable et s'est occupé de nos excursions. La propriété est très privée avec une splendide vue sur les montagnes et les vignobles. Bien entendu le vignoble propose des dégustations de vins et des visites de sa cave. Nous étions 11 membres de famille qui n'auraient pas pu passer de meilleures vacances. Tout dans les villas est 5 étoiles (ou 3 Michelin !)
We had an amazing stay at your wonderful house. The setting was wonderful and we had a truly relaxing time. The scenery was a joy. We also liked the beautiful village / hamlet with such a wonderful church. We met many French people who were exceptionally friendly. We cooked with all the fresh produce from the markets and ate outside surrounded by hay bales! Thank you for such an amazing week.
We had a fabulous holiday, thank you ! What a lovely location; very peaceful but within easy access of a variety of places to visit - Nice, Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Grasse and everything to offer along the French Riviera. The house is large and comfortable with space for families or groups of friends to spread out. There is ample outside space to enjoy - around the pool, behind the house to have shade and beside the kitchen for a morning cup of coffee. The view from the pool is stunning allowing one to see a huge distance along the coast - that will live long in our memory!
We’ve had a wonderful time thank you. Yes, it did get pretty hot last week, but coming from England we shouldn’t moan..! It’s such a stunning location and the house is very comfortable and cool in the heat. We really don’t want to go home but I’m afraid we have to… Maybe we can come again next summer?
We had a great weekend with friends at Mas du Château. Everything was very clean, the house is comfortable and very well decorated, perfectly equipped. We were not able to take advantage of the swimming pool because of the weather. Excellent communication before our arrival and during our stay, very responsive host. Thank you Christophe, we recommend without a second thought!!
Very hot to start with 40 degrees! Fabulous really, and we had a wonderful time. Weather was good. Friends coming next year already!
We had a fabulous week! We really made the most of the pool and outdoor kitchen and there was nothing we needed which wasn’t there. It was hot - so mostly we went out early and got back to get in the pool/shade. It’s a great location for exploring the local area and we loved Monaco, Nice, Lorgues and St Maxime. Thank you for hosting us and thanks to G for her help too.

Je voulais juste vous remercier de nous avoir permis de séjourner dans votre belle maison. C'est vraiment un petit coin de paradis dans une spectaculaire région. Nous avons exploré les environs, nous avons passé une journée à l'Abbaye de Fontfroide, puis au Musée Narbo Via à Narbonne, pour enfin terminer aux salines de l'île Saint-Martin de Gruissan. Merci encore de nous avoir laissé votre maison le temps d'un séjour et pour vos nombreuses gentillesses.
Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine au Le Manoir de la Compagnie. La propriété est très au calme, dans un beau site (grand jardin, beaux arbres...). Elle est très bien équipée : literie top, draps/serviettes/torchons fournis ainsi que gel de douche et shampoing, cuisine grande et bien équipée, tout est bien calibré pour un groupe de 12 adultes. Les pièces sont grandes et bien décorées. Les propriétaires sont charmants, disponibles sans être intrusifs, et ont une histoire familiale qu'il est intéressant de découvrir. Bref, je recommande tout à fait cette location
Super séjour à Porticcio les enfant ont adoré, à refaire, je conseille vivement cet établissement.
A beautiful house and perfect for our four generation family holiday. The children loved the pool and the huge range of toys. They spent most of their time in the pool and playing with the garden toys. Beautiful rooms and everything we could possibly need provided. We enjoyed a family walk around the lake followed by an excellent lunch at the restaurant in the museum. Days out to Revel, Castres, Carcassonne and other local villages.
Idéalement placée à deux pas de la Dordogne et de Sarlat, Le Borghesia offre de belles prestations dans un environnement préservé et calme. Son aménagement intérieur combine parfaitement le charme de l'ancien avec le confort moderne. La décoration composée en partie de meubles et tableaux de famille rajoute un supplément d'âme à cette charmante ferme où nous avons passé une semaine très agréable. Les propriétaires, très accueillants, sont une mine d'informations sur la région. Un seul regret, ne pas avoir eu le temps de visiter leurs autres locations situées à deux pas du Borghesia.
This is the second time we had spent time at this property so we were a bit more familiar with area. I struggle to think of a better location to holiday than this area of Provence, it has everything, beautiful countryside, restaurants, vineyards and historic villages. One eats outside all the time as the evenings are warm and balmy and in this respect this property is blessed with a superb view looking across the valley to Vaison-la-Romaine and the Dentelles in the distance. There is complete privacy with the nearest neighbour being a considerable distance from the house. Inside the house is spacious and beautifully laid out contrasting with its former farmhouse origins. If you want relaxation but with loads to do in the area then I really cannot think of a better place to stay for a summer holiday.
We have just returned from Maison de la Mairie. The house is a lovely, spacious and bright family house in a pretty village by the Canal du Midi. The house is well equipped with good quality bedding and towels etc. There is an excellent library so no need to bring reading materials. Outside there is lots of space for sunny or shady meals by the pool. Paraza is well served by a very good village shop and an excellent restaurant situated beside the canal. There is a lot of useful information in the house including walks, drives, restaurants and lo al history. Stephen, our host, was most welcoming and did all he could to ensure that we enjoyed our holiday. Even when he had to return to the UK he arranged for someone to be available should we need help. We have enjoyed a lovely holiday and woulf like to thank Stephen and Susan for sharing their home with us.

I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic holiday. The only terrible part was leaving! The house was perfect and we all fell in love with it. And the views were wonderful from every room. The whole family have lots of happy memories of our 2 weeks there so thank you.
