A more tranquil spot in France you will not find. The house has 360-degree views across stunning French countryside that rolls and undulates towards a backdrop of the Pyrenees. It feels like you're a million miles from the stresses and strains of modern life, another world and yet within 20 minutes drive you can be in a huge supermarket that will cater for all your needs. The house itself is incredibly comfortable, with all mod cons. It sleeps 14 people in great comfort, including in two well-appointed cottages in the grounds. And yet it retains its cosy feel. Some days we lazed by the pool and ate our meals on one of the terraces, other days – when it was cooler - we lit the fire and settled in. It's genuinely as comfy inside as it is outside, which is not always the case in French holiday lets. Our young children were in heaven. When not swimming or playing tennis, they roamed the five acres of immaculately kept grounds, building camps, rowing on the small lake. There's snooker croquet and table tennis too, if it's wet. And then of course there is the party room. Set well away from the grown-up bedrooms, the party room has a bar, DJ–quality speaker system and a proper disco – glitter ball, lights and all. Incredible fun. You really won't want to leave the château and grounds at all – it's a self-contained little hill-top world - but if you do have itchy feet then there are lots of walks nearby, or you can visit one of the many beautiful French towns nearby (Mirepoix market is a must). I cannot wait to return.
Tout était magnifique à La Bastide 1718. Nous nous sommes rendus dans la région pour raisons professionnelles, ce qui a été particulièrement difficile en temps de pandémie et de confinement. Malgré cela, la villa et notre hôte Thomas ont rendu notre séjour le plus agréable possible dans ces circonstances. Thomas était toujours disponible, pour tous besoins. Très professionnel, gentil et attentionné. Honnêtement l’un des meilleurs hôtes qu’il m’a été donné de rencontrer! La villa est extraordinaire. Chaque chambre offre des standards hôteliers, depuis la literie, la climatisation et le chauffage, les salles de bain, jusqu’aux télévisions et à la décoration. La cuisine et les installations sont parfaitement équipées et entretenues, vous y trouverez tout ce dont vous aurez besoin. Nous avons passé chaque soirée dans le salon-salle à manger, avec un feu de cheminée, parfait pour que l’équipe se détende! Il y a tellement d’équipements dans la villa que vous ne vous ennuierez jamais. Le lieu est magnifique, et vaut largement la longue route à parcourir, pour y trouver tranquillité et un panorama splendide. Vous trouverez de nombreuses touches d’attention dans la villa, mais je ne préfère pas tout vous révéler. Chacune de ces attentions font de votre séjour un moment plus relaxant et inoubliable encore. We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay. The gite is very well appointed with lots of games, which our daughter really enjoyed. We especially enjoyed the warm swimming pool (cleaned daily), summer kitchen, beautiful garden and multiple outside seating areas. It is very well located and within easy reach of some beautiful Bastide villages. We especially liked Villareal and Eymet. Special thanks to Jean and Martin, who are perfect hosts and on hand to provide recommendations if needed. The local village of Lauzun is within a five-minute walk and we recommend the boulangerie and weekly table gourmands held during the summer. We are already planning a return visit!

Vous avez mangé des plats délicieux, bu trop de vin et nagé toute la journée dans votre piscine. Nous espérons revenir un jour.
Thank you for a very relaxing holiday in your fabulous house. We will long remember our lazy days by the pool. The house had everything we needed - a real home from home, with bags of French character.
Des vacances attendues... pour ce coin secret... Un séjour très reposant. Une superbe région. Des visites à nous couper le souffle. Le gouffre de Padirac excellent... Grotte de Lascaux, Sarlat, Rocamadour, Le Rocher des Aigles. Le Labyrinthe du Bugue. Tout était parfait. Une maison pleine de charme qui nous a inspiré pour notre futur bien immobilier. Frédéric et Marilou sont des hôtes formidables toujours de bon conseil du coup nous reviendrons l'année prochaine. Un grand merci.
Merveilleux. Nous avons passé un séjour magnifique dans une très belle et agréable maison. Tout y est bien pensé dans le moindre detail. Nos hôtes sont charmants. Je les remercie vivement pour tout. Nous avons adoré ces moments suspendus dans le temps. Un petit havre de paix.
Merci pour votre hospitalité. Nous avons apprécié la maison et nos garçons (13 et 11 ans) ont adoré la piscine ! C'était un endroit idéal pour explorer la Dordogne et le Lot en faisant du kayak, de la tyrolienne, des châteaux, des marchés, des villes médiévales, des grottes et des jardins. Monpazier était l'un de nos préférés ! Merci encore.
La maison de vacances idéale. Magnifiquement meublée avec une immense piscine, une terrasse et un jardin. Elle est spacieuse et aérée et parfaitement située pour des vacances en famille. Homps est une charmante petite ville à proximité de Carcassonne et de Narbonne. Nous avons adoré la pizzeria d'à côté et le magasin du coin sur le quai vendant du pain frais tous les jours. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner !
A wonderful first week to our holidays. The house is wonderfully renovated and has everything a family can wish! We also had the chance of a very warm weather which gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great terrace and had al fresco dining every day. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful property. PS: The Auberge St Jean is a must eat in the area!
Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre semaine ici. Le logement était de première classe, très bien aménagé, lumineux et spacieux avec des lits confortables. La piscine était attrayante et bienvenue. Il y avait beaucoup d'espaces disponibles pour s'asseoir, se détendre et se relaxer, entourés de belles fleurs. Il y avait beaucoup à faire dans la région, des villages perchés aux plages dorées. Les propriétaires étaient sympathiques et serviables, mais discrets. Nous recommanderions certainement un séjour.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here in Vouvant. Piglet Barn is an excellent mix of loveliness with all your touches and thoughtfulness to make a stay so welcoming and enjoyable. On top of this, we have had the delight of wine, peaches, home-made almond cake and two evening apéros in your wonderful company.
Les Chapoux is truly a terrific holiday destination, the property is located in a lovely area and it is easy to access local towns and villages with supermarkets in easy reach. As to the property it is charming, there is plenty of room with comfortable beds and all the amenities you could need. The pool is great and the 3 generations of our family spent many an hour in and around it. The owners are very helpful and made us feel most welcome. Definitely one to visit.
Nous avons passé un séjour chaleureux chez Eva à Sérignan. Très belle villa, joliment située dans un quartier calme. La piscine privée était vraiment un régal ! Eva a été très réactive à nos questions et a été facile à contacter. Nous pouvons certainement recommander son logement et nous n'hésiterons pas à y retourner si nous sommes de nouveau dans la région.
Merci pour ce beau moment dans votre belle maison. La piscine est incroyable ainsi que les vues. Nous avons passé de merveilleux moments à visiter Eymet, Duras, Monségur, le Médoc et Saint-Émilion. Pour commencer, le lieu est tout simplement magique. Il permet de toucher du doigt ce qu'est la vie de château. Et surtout la qualité de l'accueil des hôtes est tout simplement exceptionnelle. L'espace a disposition est très spacieux, la qualité des infrastructures est parfaite et lorsque tout cela est emballé dans un papier de soie de gentillesse et de serviabilité, on touche au sublime.
En week-end en famille, tout le monde a été charmé et ravi par la maison de Sue. Très grande maison confortable et joliment décorée pourvue d un jardin et d une piscine de toute beauté et idéalement située au bord du canal du Midi. Sue est très sympathique et son accueil chaleureux. Nous recommandons et y retournerons pour un week-end détente.
Location de haute qualité pour 1 semaine avec nos amis et famille. Idéal pour une semaine de repos avec les enfants. Grande propriété avec de quoi s'occuper et se balader. Idéal pour découvrir le calme de la région. Je recommande vivement !

Both (the house and grounds) are absolutely beautiful and fantastic for parents and children alike. Despite a lot of activities in and around the area, we chose to stay 'in' more than we had expected because of how good the house and grounds were. A stunning location which surpassed our expectations. Both this and the hosts made this into a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. THE BEST FAMILY HOLIDAY WE'VE HAD - Thank you for everything! X
A really fabulous time had by all 9 in our 'gang', you have left no stone unturned here in this great house. Location is perfect, Revel is a smashing town with everything you need whilst still retaining the feel of a rural French setting. A holiday none of us will forget. This holiday has been great! I have really enjoyed playing in the pool and running round the huge garden for exercise. Written by a teenager pretending they are 48!
Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux! Les images ne peuvent pas représenter pleinement la beauté de la maison, de la piscine et du cadre depuis la colline avec vue sur la rivière et la vallée. L'aménagement de la maison a très bien fonctionné pour nous, car chacune de nos familles avait sa propre aile avec plusieurs chambres et salles de bains. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour l'aide avec l'organisation des chefs et des baby-sitters (qui étaient fantastiques), les hôtes ont été proactifs pour s'assurer que nous passions un excellent séjour. L'emplacement est excellent aussi, car à proximité de deux jolies villes avec de bonnes boulangeries et restaurants, près de Sarlat, Domme et La Roque-Gageac, bonne base pour visiter les grottes préhistoriques, les excursions en rivière, les vignobles, etc. On ne recommandera que trop cette maison!
Large family holiday, ages varying from 2-60. Beautiful house, great outdoor area with outside pergola and table plenty big enough to sit all 13 of us which was great. As in description location is very rural so definitely need cars - supermarket is 10 minutes drive away. Estelle was very helpful leading up to our holiday, and during our stay. Answering all our questions and popped by to make sure we were happy with everything. Local area very pretty, but we stayed in August and everywhere was deserted! Apparently lots of places in France shut down in August. Very well equipped house for great holiday.
We had a beautiful fou-poster suite with claw footed bath in this attractive country château. We enjoyed a lazy week in glorious sunshine in August dipping in and out of the outdoor heated swimming pool. The château has extensive grounds in which to walk off dinner and is surrounded by peaceful countryside. Bourges was a great place to visit, both cathedral, palace and gardens were a must-see. We were with a large party of friends who took it in turns to cook and we ate outside on the terrace watching the sun go down.
We would like to very highly recommend this grand idillic property in the tranquil rural setting of the Lot Valley. The quietness and peacefulness of the house and grounds is the perfect place to completely unwind, to read, draw, play boules, table tennis or relax with the family by the poolside area. The market town of Villeréal was particularly vibrant and trips into the Dordogne to Beynac for example is only an hour away. There is an abundance of local wines and vineyards to visit with exquisite cheeses and bread from the local markets. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We have returned totally refreshed and relaxed!

A beautiful house with a great view and pool. Very spacious and kitchen was fully equipped. The housekeeper was very responsive and provided great care. Would love to come back and definitely recommend for a remote getaway for a group of 7.
