We can't wait to go back! A chateau with some serious wow factor, this beautiful home in Burgundy was the perfect setting for our family holiday. Luxurious but also wonderfully laid back, it had every possible amenity - tennis court, swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen, gas barbecue, DVD with full library of movies, games room, etc – allowing us all to relax, unwind, keep everyone entertained and also treat ourselves. Would highly recommend hiring the local chef too for an extra special treat. Can’t wait to go back!
Nous voyageons maintenant dans la Loire après avoir passé une belle semaine aux Faures. Après quelques premiers jours nuageux, le temps s'est avéré magnifique. Nous avons beaucoup aimé explorer la région. Nous sommes allés faire du canoë à Pessac et sommes allés au magnifique château de Carbonneau. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié Le Gensake. Merci de nous avoir laissé séjourner dans votre charmante maison.
Where do we start! Arrived at the gite and drove through the private gated entrance to see beautiful grounds and a very inviting swimming pool. Jean and Martyn were waiting to show us around and were the perfect hosts throughout our stay. The gite, grounds, outdoor kitchen and pool all immaculate and made for the perfect stay. The washing machine, dishwasher and many fridges are an added bonus. The bedrooms and bathroom a good size, fab open plan kitchen, diner and living room. Lots of extras in the kitchen which is great. Lauzun is a great little village with all the amenities you need, several other pretty villages near by (Issigeac and Eymet are lovely) Large hyper/supermarkets and various shops in Bergerac, 30mins away or a decent size Intermarche 10mins away. We would highly recommend the gite and will definitely be returning. Thank you Jean and Martyn for your letting us stay in your lovely property and not forgetting the very friendly, fluffy, German Shepherd Tanner. We had the best time, enjoyed sharing our many bottles of vino and our evening with you in Eymet.

Heaven on Earth. Our two week stay at Villa Chiavari was an absolute dream; I could not be more enthusiastic in recommending this home to anyone looking to spend their vacation in a veritable paradise. We were 2 couples, 3 children and 1 grandparent and booked an 'off-season' holiday at the end of September. Not long after our arrival we realised a major perk of booking 'off season': uncrowded beaches with absolutely perfect summer weather! Villa Chiavari's spectacular ocean-view infinity pool is surrounded by lounge-chairs and palm trees and bordered by a lush garden... good luck ever tearing yourself away. I should also mention that this lavish pool area is accessible by both the main living quarters of the house and by the bedrooms, which we found extremely convenient for our kids and elderly grandparent. Pool amenities also include a shaded lounge and dining area (also with an ocean view), a barbecue, outdoor refrigerator, pool toys and floats and easy access to a downstairs kitchenette. The grounds at the front of the house include a lush garden, an elevated hammock-hideaway in a quiet shady corner and an outdoor eating area punctuated by a lovely little fountain. The bedrooms are attractively furnished, comfortable and very clean. Five out of six have full attached bathrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, as is the main area of the house. The upstairs living/dining/den areas are elegant yet cozy at the same time and the entire back 'wall' of this floor is composed of large sliding glass doors that open onto a beautiful terrace running the length of the entire villa. There is a dining area and lounge on this upper terrace as well! The kitchen has every piece of equipment you can think of and if you're looking for the ultimate in extravagance, the owners will set you up with your own chef. They arranged for us a very personable French cook who prepared truly delicious, fresh meals that even our children were not afraid to eat. Sublime. Speaking of kids, families will find this home very child-safe. There are gates on stairways, the entire property is fenced-in (artfully disguised by beautiful flowers and foliage) and there is a smattering of children's furniture (highchair etc) available for use. We were also really comforted by the fact that the owners of this home are easily reached and are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking again and I encourage anyone interested in perfection to do the same!
Nous sommes maintenant de retour chez nous et je tenais à vous adresser mes plus sincères remerciements pour votre accueil à la Maison de Saint-Jean. Votre maison est magnifique. Elle allie le charme d'un ancien corps de ferme au confort d'équipements modernes et stylés. Nous étions 6 mais la maison peut accueillir 8 personnes. Ce sont surtout les extérieurs que nous avons adorés. Même si le temps n'était pas très confortable cet été, nous avons apprécié le très grand jardin, la vue étendue et la piscine chauffée. Nous reviendrons certainement car la région vaut encore quelques détours et votre maison est le point de chute idéal pour la visiter. À bientôt.
Nous avons passé des très bons moments dans un appartement constitué de matériaux nobles, bien agencé,, décoré avec raffinement, goût, confortable et spacieux. Profiter des paysages des environs à pieds et à vélos.
We have just spent an amazing fortnight at Maison Labarde in Lauzun hosted by Jean and Martyn. The gite is really well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and is cool inside, even in hot weather. Jean kindly provided many complementary extras for our arrival which was very much appreciated. A great outside kitchen with gas BBQ and additional fridge was perfect for outdoor dining and drinking! The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily by Martyn and there were various floats, water toys and inflatables available; the water temperature was just right- in fact it didn’t drop below 28 degrees for the whole fortnight. We enjoyed the extensive garden using the various seating areas available, all with parasols/ gazebo for shade if needed. It’s a lovely part of France with lots of Bastide towns to visit with markets, fetes and musical events in the summer months, as well as vineyards and châteaux for wine tastings at every turn!! Jean and Martyn were excellent hosts, friendly and informative about local events and places to visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday gite and hope that we can return at some point in the future! Merci beaucoup!!
This is a beautiful, fully modernised house in a lovely friendly village. A well designed spacious house over two floors with a large balcony from the modernised kitchen and lounge overlooking the pool and views of the surrounding areas The property is perfect for lazing by the pool and is Ideally placed for trips to many nearby beaches and to the cities of Narbonne, Béziers and Montpellier.
Que dire si ce n'est que c'était en tout point parfait! Nous organisons tous les ans un long week-end-end en famille et celui-ci est, de loin, celui qui remporte tous les suffrages!
Nous avons passé une semaine très reposante ici. Les enfants ont passé 90 % de leurs journées dans la piscine ! Quelques sorties, une au marché d'Olonzac et à la plage, mais les meilleures journées ont été passées à la villa. Vues époustouflantes et si paisibles. J'ai apprécié cuisiner les dîners, la cuisine a tout ce dont vous avez besoin. Départ vers le nord dans le camping-car demain pour continuer nos vacances mais le luxe de la villa nous manquera.
An incredible place to disconnect! The hosts treated us very well and took care very well that we did not lack anything. The house is very comfortable and beautiful, fully equipped and with very comfortable beds. All the rooms are comfortable and beautiful. You can tell that they have thought of everything and that they take care of the details with affection. We leave delighted and in love with the region and the environment that surrounds this dream house.
Des vacances fantastiques dans ce fantastique mini-château. Étant récemment arrivé de Californie et séjournant chez nos beaux-parents français, ce furent des vacances vraiment incroyables. Beaucoup de repas, de verres, de baignade, de tourisme et bien sûr de ping-pong. À bientôt.
Here we are again! The Loft and it’s setting never loses its WOW! factor; we have had yet another ( fifth ) visit, having enjoyed the garden, pool, local area and not least your wonderful hospitality. Thank you so much - an oasis of calm in the Covid-19 storm! The measures you have taken to protect guests have been executed with your usual discretion and thoroughness, allowing us to truly relax.

This house is beautiful. Well located, you can visit the entire area easily from this house. Additionally, the equipment in this house is great. Between the boulodrome, the pool and the rest, it's a good experience to share with friends or family.
À la fin de longues vacances bien remplies un peu partout en France, la propriété a été un bel endroit où se détendre. Les jardins et la piscine sont parfaits, les propriétaires étaient sympathiques et serviables. Maison très propre, bien agencée, confortable. Assez proche pour aller où l'on voulait le long de la Côte d'Azur, mais paisible quand on voulait se ressourcer. Une semaine n'a pas suffit. Je reviendrai certainement ici si nous voyageons à nouveau en France.
Wow ! Totally surpassed our expectations. The attention to detail is amazing. This place is truly unique, the decor and furnishings are beautiful. The outside space is spectacular. I could ramble on for hours about our stay, not to mention all the incredible things to do in the surrounding area.
One of the best houses we've stayed in. Wow, what a holiday! We've just returned from a fantastic week at the house and all 14 of us have nothing but praise for the whole week. The house has been beautifully renovated and is perfectly equipped in every way. We ranged from 75 to 1 yr old and had plenty of space for us all. From the crisp white linen on the very comfy beds to the pizza oven, full sized bar, the lovely sun loungers and very well equipped kitchen... We couldn't have asked for more. The kids loved picking tomatoes and lettuce from the kitchen garden and my sister and I loved the fabulous gym with amazing views across the valley. In the run up to the holiday, I had all my questions answered by Mark and George was on hand for anything we needed during our stay. We're already planning our return visit next year, hopefully for a couple of weeks as one just isn't enough!
Large family holiday, ages varying from 2-60. Beautiful house, great outdoor area with outside pergola and table plenty big enough to sit all 13 of us which was great. As in description location is very rural so definitely need cars - supermarket is 10 mins drive away. Estelle was very helpful leading up to our holiday, and during our stay. Answering all our questions and popped by to make sure we were happy with everything. Local area very pretty, but we stayed in August and everywhere was deserted! Apparently lots of places in France shut down in August. Very well equipped house for great holiday.

Excellent, à tous les niveaux. Nous étions 11 adultes et 3 enfants et nous avons passé un superbe séjour. L'emplacement est idéal, isolé et au calme. La maison est très bien équipée (nous avons particulièrement apprécié la présence des serviettes de piscine). L'espace extérieur et les équipements nous ont permis de profiter pleinement de vrais moments de détente. Sam est une hôte très réactive, prête à nous répondre à la moindre question. En résumé, nous recommandons vivement et remercions Sam pour son accueil impeccable!

We stayed at this beautiful place with 10 adults and one child. The house is large and magnificent with every comfort thought of. Beautifully decorated and everything of quality. The heated swimming pool was amazing. Jim was charming and helped us organise the stay and the housekeeper gave us a very warm welcome. We will definitely be coming back for future family reunions.
We stayed with a group of friends for the week before our wedding and we could not have asked for a more perfect place to have some quality time and enjoy the great pool! We were also treated to a bottle of champagne for our wedding. What a great place! Would highly recommend.
Impossible de ne pas sourire dans le Gers. Au cœur de la Gascogne, cette terre est verte et douce, avec des collines, des rivières, de l'armagnac, des canards, des places de village à arcades et des gens solides qui déambulent à quelques heures en décalé du reste de la France. Compte tenu de l'ambiance féodale, le château fait partie du paysage. Peu sont plus somptueux que le Château Mézard, près de Condom, qui peut accueillir 13 personnes. Entouré de 42 hectares, c'est le genre d'endroit que le commun des mortels paie pour le visiter, pas pour y séjourner.
A week at the Mas de Pitou was blissful. The house was comfortable and included everything you would need for a relaxing stay. The view of the Alpilles, bright sunshine throughout the house and the fragrance of lavender and rosemary from the garden completed the picture. I will most definitely return to enjoy more exploring of the regions bounty in farmer's markets, Médiéval villages and stunning views.
In 25 years of renting houses for our summer holidays, Château Mabrouke truly topped the lot! Ed and Katie have kept it as a family home which gives the house a lovely ambiance and makes it so welcoming and interesting. We loved the artworks, both in the house and the garden. The guide to the house, helpfully shared in advance, was comprehensive. It meant we weren't struggling to work anything out for ourselves and the information on the local area was really helpful. The local team gave us a lovely welcome too and looked after us flawlessly throughout our stay. The rooms all have great character and were very comfortable indeed. The hilltop setting gives outstanding vistas all round and the terraces surrounding the house and pool offered the best of the sun at all points of the day, particularly sunsets at dinner. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the cooker is fabulous. Martin and Philippa, who Katie recommended, cooked a wonderful meal for us and were thoroughly engaging company. There is so much to do, in and around the house and in the local area, that it was hard to do it all justice in a mere two weeks. A day's white water rafting and kayaking with Eau Vive at Foix was a big highlight.
