Superbe distillerie de luxe reconvertie en maison de campagne à Challignac. Mobilier et équipements haut de gamme. Magnifique décoration intérieure, entièrement climatisée et dotée d'une superbe piscine extérieure chauffée avec terrasse spacieuse, chaises longues et canapés, d'un coin repas extérieur avec barbecue, d'un terrain de pétanque et d'une aire de jeux pour enfants, le tout entouré de magnifiques jardins et d'une campagne paisible et époustouflante. C'était un vrai plaisir de s'asseoir avec un café le matin, en regardant les chevreuils se promener dans le champ devant la maison. Les lits étaient les plus confortables que nous ayons jamais eus, les douches étaient fantastiques, tout était impeccable. Gary et Mark ont rendu notre semaine encore plus spéciale grâce à leurs fabuleuses recommandations de lieux à visiter et d'excellents restaurants à proximité. Ils ont répondu immédiatement à toutes nos demandes, tout en respectant notre vie privée, sauf si nous les contactions. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit et nous réservons déjà pour l'année prochaine.
We had a brilliant holiday and I enjoyed the trampoline. House was brilliant for hide and seek.
We have just spent 2 very enjoyable weeks at Villa Montplaisir. The villa is equipped to a very high standard and Thierry was informative and helpful throughout our stay. The apricot tree kept us well supplied with fresh fruit each morning... delicious. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk and offers a variety of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes. There is a market 3 times a week which has the usual buzz and good choice of fresh food stalls. We would recommend the villa as a very good base to visit both the coast and hinterland.
Nous avons adoré chaque instant de notre séjour. Le Cottage du Jardin est joli et très bien aménagé : ultra propre, bien équipé et charmant. La piscine et les jardins sont intimes et charmants. Catarina et Stephen sont des hôtes formidables : ils sont aux petits soins et d'une gentillesse incroyable. Cette propriété est un véritable joyau, et les villages et sites antiques de la vallée de la Vézère en font un séjour inoubliable.
Un beau site. Nous avons adoré la vue et la nouvelle piscine. C'est tellement merveilleux d'avoir une belle piscine pour y nager tôt le matin ! Nos garçons ont aussi adoré le terrain privé. Nous avons apprécié les marchés nocturnes, les châteaux et les activités aux alentours.
The weather has been great so spent most of our time in the pool and on the sun loungers. We loved visiting the towns and villages nearby and particularly enjoyed the fresh pastries every morning! Thank you for the great holiday we had in this great villa and a holiday we will never forget, and a holiday we loved every minute of. We all will be very, very sad to be leaving! Merci!
Nous avons passé 2 semaines dans la charmante maison Charvin à Montlaur. C'était notre premier voyage en Languedoc-Roussillon, en Occitanie. Nous avons tout de suite réalisé en arrivant que c'était la bonne maison pour nous. C'est tellement beau, soigneusement restauré et décoré de manière chaleureuse. Tout était impeccable et propre. Une bouteille de vin local attendait en cadeau et nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus. Des livres à prêter partout. La cuisine avait tout ce que nous pouvions souhaiter et plus encore, nous avons adoré le poêle italien. L'espace extérieur est fantastique, très privé avec la piscine turquoise pour se rafraîchir. Même nos adolescents se sentent détendus et heureux d'être là. Montlaur est un petit village avec des gens sympathiques. Il y a une boutique, une boulangerie, une boucherie, une pharmacie et un coiffeur. De quoi d'autres avez-vous besoin? Nous avons passé notre temps à lire, bronzer, nager et faire des sorties la journée. Grâce à Sharon, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans tous les bons endroits, comme les merveilleux restaurants de Lagrasse, vraiment sympas tous les deux. C'est parfait d'avoir un guide privé aussi gentil et engagé que la propriétaire, Mme W. Elle voulait que nous profitions au maximum de nos vacances. M'a même prêtée un de ses livres préférés avec un petit mot ; ça pourrait vous plaire ! Merci beaucoup Sharon, de nous avoir ouvert votre maison, nous sommes si heureux d'avoir trouvé ce petit coin de paradis.

Un grand merci à Thomas pour son accueil et son accompagnement tout au long de notre séjour. La villa est superbe et très bien aménagée: la cuisine est idéale pour un groupe. Les chambres sont décorées avec goût et offrent des prestations d'un bel hôtel. Les vacances sont passées trop vite !
Just returned from an outstanding holiday at the Orchard Farmhouse! The pool and grounds were just fantastic - it did help with three days at 30+ degrees! Comfortable. Well equipped château. Spacious. Well tended grounds. Stunning pool area, very inviting! All really good. Comfortable sitting area. Well organised roomy playroom being a real bonus. Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Helpful at all times and unobtrusive. Huge bonus having the daily housekeeping service as well as shopping service. Really this is one of the best family holidays we have had. Everything designed to make one's stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you. It has been a pleasure to be guests in your home.
Superbe location dans un coin de verdure très calme. Tout était parfait avec mention spéciale pour la piscine chauffée qui a fait le bonheur du petit fils. À louer les yeux fermés.
What a beautiful 'home away from home' you have created here. This first holiday has been everything we could have wished for and more. Your hospitality and company have been wonderful and matched only by the breathtaking accommodation and gardens. You have thought of everything and we have wanted for nothing and the delicious birthday cake was a particular highlight! We can't wait to see what the future holds for the main house.
Deux superbes semaines ici dans votre magnifique maison. Très spacieuse et bien aménagée, de bon goût et confortable. Les garçons ont bien profité de la piscine. Nous avons apprécié la tranquillité et l'intimité. Nous avons aimé explorer la région et goûter à la cuisine locale. Les recommandations de restaurants incluent l'Hôtel-Restaurant du Château à Campagne, l'Auberge Médiévale Audrix et pour une cuisine de ferme rustique mais délicieuse - l'Auberge Rebeyrotte près de Pressigirac Vicq. Merci beaucoup. P.S : la livraison de la boulangerie pour le petit-déjeuner est un régal !
Our stay was as much about the garden as the stunning house, the electronic gate at the entrance worked a treat each time we used it. Three of us each had a bedroom and all the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and lounge were fully equipped so we wanted for nothing. We linked our laptop in to the CD via a two-to-one 3.5mm jack lead which we take everywhere, so were able to listen to our collection of music through quite a reasonable hi-fi system. The large TV, although not HD, was great for any English programmes you just couldn't miss, even on holiday! We made the ten minute scenic drive up to the boulangerie at Bertric-Buree for our baguettes, croissants and pain-a-raisins most days as there are no shops in Lusignac, just a bar restaurant. The croissants were enjoyed sitting outside the kitchen / living room area on the middle floor, which has a stunning view. For our first week, the temperatures were in the mid-thirties so it was lovely to cool off in the pool. With the pool being quite long, you could actually swim, rather than just splash about which was great to keep a little bit of fitness going. Now the garden. As having a very keen interest in natural history, especially butterflies, we contacted the owner and asked if he could leave the grass uncut, so that any wild flowers would be there to attract butterflies for our photography. He duly obliged. This resulted in a count of thirty one species of butterfly just in the garden, with another five spotted whilst out on our travels. Non-British species included Scarce Swallowtail, Swallowtail, Pearly Heath, Mallow Skipper, Map and the star of the show, Large Blue, which were extinct in Britain until being reintroduced recently. The grass areas provided a fantastic environment for butterflies and other insects. This little area truly is a spectacular insect haven. This is without the lavender hedge which runs down one side of the entire drive. No red squirrels, but we watched birds of prey circling as the farmer cut the field in the valley and amongst other species of birds, there were a pair of Golden Orioles which flew by regularly. If you are looking for a modern house in an attractive location with lovely pool, lovely view and ridiculous number of butterflies, this is it!
Nous avons loué la villa avec 2 autres couples et nous avons tous passé un moment fabuleux. Les Eyermann étaient des hôtes merveilleux et nous ont fourni une base idéale pour des sorties sur Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo et Antibes pour des excursions d'une journée avec de courts trajets en voiture. Nous avons fait des promenades jusqu'à la mer tous les jours et les 3 boulangeries et épiceries ainsi que de nombreux restaurants ne sont qu'à quelques minutes. Nous avons utilisé la piscine chauffée tous les jours et pouvons honnêtement dire que nous n'avons jamais mangé de repas à l'intérieur. Le temps était fabuleux. Ce furent des vacances incroyables dont nous nous souviendrons toujours !
We loved the setting, location and character of this beautiful house which we feel could tell many interesting stories (... if only walls could speak!). Our boys loved the pool and made great friends with the friendly tortoise. R. favours the name 'Toby' and B. likes 'Edouard'. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch for my birthday at Bistro Maritime and looking forward to dinner at Bistro Pharell for our last evening. Great days out exploring St-Émilion-Libourne. A great trip by train (so easy) to Bordeaux. The bassin de lumière is amazing if you have a wet day. We also loved watching the Mascaret from the house - so glad we were here on the 'right' day.
Thank you for such a wonderful holiday. The house is absolutely beautiful as are the gardens.
A great time was had by all. We loved this little piece of paradise in Provence! Magnifique! Hope we'll be back again sometime.
Je pense pouvoir parler au nom de nous 11 en disant que nous avons encore une fois passé de merveilleuses vacances à La Barde. Je n'étais jamais parti aussi tôt l'année précédente (en mai), mais nous avons utilisé la piscine tous les jours. L'avantage de venir un peu plus tôt cette année était de voir votre jardin dans toute sa splendeur et la Dordogne avant d'être "blanchi" par le soleil - et nous avons vraiment apprécié de pouvoir brûler des bûches sur l'immense feu ouvert de la cuisine tous les soirs (il fait normalement trop chaud pour ça!). Tout était parfait, Hélène, comme d'habitude (et les lits encore plus confortables que la dernière fois) ! J'apprécie toujours le mélange de ferme authentique et de design chic et élégant de La Barde. Et c'était toujours aussi paisible et relaxant : les batteries sont rechargées !
We (4 adults - 2 generations) spent a fantastic week in this super gîte. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped. Outside, in the very large garden, was the lovely pool which was cleaned daily. The outside kitchen was lovely for BBQ's. There were also lots of seating areas, shaded and sunny, we were spoilt for choice. We walked to the bakery in the morning as the gîte is close to the village. The lovely owners were welcoming and helpful. Happy to recommend.
A very special week to celebrate Dad's 70th, It was wonderful to be with family in your wonderful house. My kids had a wonderful time and spent hours in the pool! Thank you.
Agréable petit séjour à la découverte de Sarlat. Le temps a été très doux pour octobre et nous avons pu nous prélasser au soleil, ce à quoi nous ne nous attendions pas. Les visites du château de Beynac et des jardins d'Eyrignac ont également été très agréables. Merci pour ce séjour agréable.
Thank you very much indeed for renting your beautiful property to us for the past fortnight. My husband and I have been renting houses in France from time to time over the past thirty years. We are both agreed that Chez Pascale is the best and most generously equipped house that we have ever experienced. The setting, too, is delightful and so peaceful and quiet - a welcome change from our noisy city lives. We visited some of the local attractions which we enjoyed and agree that Sarlat, Domme and the surrounding villages and towns are justly famous for their scenic beauty and unique architecture as well as the local gastronomy. Our family members have now returned to their separate homes, but we will all retain some very happy memories of our holiday together in lovely Chez Pascale. Thank you, once more.
Emplacement absolument superbe, hébergement magnifique et hôtes incroyables, je le recommande vivement.
Belle propriété avec la plus magnifique des vues. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et serviables. Tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin est là. La piscine était parfaite. Belle promenade champêtre jusqu'au prochain village avec un petit restaurant qui vaut le détour. Cela prend environ 45 minutes. De beaux paysages autour de la maison comme dans un tableau de Van Gogh ! Nous reviendrons certainement.
Absolument magique, merci à Thomas pour son accompagnement et bienveillance qui a su satisfaire tous nos invités... Souvenir inoubliable... Splendide lieu.
