Wonderful house, garden and weather, it met all our expectations and more.
Quelle expérience incroyable, dans une région vraiment magnifique de France (et nouvelle pour nous tous). La maison est charmante ainsi que la vue à 360° - magique ! Les enfants ont adoré la piscine et nous avons réussi à les en faire sortir pour manger, dormir et prendre la voiture !
C'est le château le plus charmant et le plus soigné, beaucoup de caractère, de belles pièces d'art et des lits gigantesques! Il y a une pièce pour chacune de nos humeurs, même une discothèque, un billard et la plus belle salle de réception qui soit. La meilleure cuisine équipée que nous ayons connue, une merveilleuse piscine, court de tennis, croquet, pétanque... il est impossible de s'ennuyer ici! Le château est impressionnant mais il y règne une atmposphère qui nous fait nous sentir chez nous. Différents endroits possibles pour déjeuner, nous recommendons de dîner à l'arrière du château pour profiter des couchers de soleil. Nous ne pouvions pas aimé plus une maison et avons dès le deuxième jour de nos vacances réservé notre prochain séjour.

Nous sommes une famille de 5 avec 3 ados. Dès le premier jour, nous nous sommes installés et avons eu beaucoup de mal à repartir au bout de deux semaines. Les propriétaires ont non seulement créé une maison merveilleusement rustique, mais elle a été très bien pensée, avec beaucoup d'espace tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur pour une famille de 5 personnes. S'y ajoute l'un des meilleurs cadres que vous puissiez imaginer - des collines doucement vallonnées en retrait d'une route de campagne tranquille. Étant une famille sportive, nous avons utilisé la belle piscine tous les jours. La plupart des piscines privées en France font moins de 10 mètres, nous avons donc vraiment apprécié les 13 mètres complets pour nager quelques longueurs. Pour notre plus grand plaisir, il y avait un terrain de badminton extérieur et un terrain de pétanque. La grande pelouse plane au sommet de la propriété était l'endroit idéal pour taper des balles. Les environs sont un délice à découvrir. Des grottes calcaires aux églises souterraines creusées à flanc de colline, aux charmantes villes de marché, aux «plages» fluviales pour se rafraîchir, la région ne semble jamais surpeuplée. Tout cela, associé à la nourriture et aux boissons exquises de la région (à des prix exceptionnels), en fait une région à absolument découvrir pour le touriste averti. Nous ne saurions trop recommander de séjourner ici. Les propriétaires, qui habitent à côté, sont des hôtes parfaits. Ils n'ont jamais empiété une seule fois sur notre intimité, mais étaient plus qu'heureux de discuter et de fournir des conseils, lorsque sollicités. Nous avons hâte de revenir!
L'endroit est absolument magnifique, les photos ne lui rendent pas suffisamment justice. Le terrain est spacieux, il y a un immense jardin avec tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin en termes de piscine, barbecue, aire de jeux, etc. Vous avez votre propre allée et un parking couvert.
We had a superb 11 day stay in Fitou. Everything was as expected when we arrived - the property has everything you would expect and more when travelling with young children - in our case a 10 month old as well as 2½ year old twins. The car beds were a huge hit with the twins! The village of Fitou is also really nice - there are over 10 wines caves selling high quality local Fitou. There are also some excellent restaurants - would recommend Vidals if you are taking the kids. Outside of Fitou, Perpignan, Narbonne and Carcassonne are all realistic day trip options and the resort of Leucate is also good for a more traditional seaside ambience.
You have been incredible hosts, communication and recommendations were excellent. The house exceeded all of our expectations and we all had an incredible time making good use of all that was on offer! Stuart and I particularly enjoyed the table tennis which got quite competitive! We most definitely will be back again soon!
Dear Donna, Our little stay has been fantastic, we needed a little us time, which we found. Your place is just beautiful, so relaxing and peaceful. Like everyone in this book says, we would love to come back one day. All the best.
We enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks in this lovely house. The pool was very popular (due to the August heatwave - most days were 30 - 33 degrees). It was nice to be given a guided tour of the property by Yvonne and be welcomed with flowers and wine. The house has so much character - It would be lovely to learn a little more about its history and former occupants. We loved lots of the al fresco dining and one particularly memorable cheese and wine night in the candlelit wine cellar! Île de Ré, La Rochelle, Cognac, Marais poitevin are all we worth visiting. Make sure you take a look at the stars on a clean night - we spotted a few shooting stars!

We have all enjoyed staying in your magnificent Maison Richelieu. The house and village of Richelieu is a wonderful location for exploring the Loire Valley which we have all done. The décor of the maison is fantastic and we have taken ideas with us for what we can do in our own houses when we return home. Thank you again for our time here!
J'ai passé des moments incroyables avec mes amis dans ce magnifique château ! Le parc est absolument époustouflant, comme dans un film. Le château lui-même est enchanteur tout en étant très confortable. Nous avons passé un excellent moment à découvrir les villes et les marchés locaux. Une expérience vraiment merveilleuse, je le recommande vivement !
Fantastic holiday - very many thanks. We come to France a lot and this is one of the best places we've stayed in. The weather has been very kind to us all! Restaurant recommendations all very good - we tried as many as we could. Particularly good were La Maison at Tourbes and L'Entre Pots. We need to come back again and try the rest. Many thanks again.
A wonderful place for a family holiday. The house is perfectly stocked; really no want for anything. You have thought of it all, extra bits in the kitchen, games, great chairs by the pool. We loved every minute!
Je voulais juste dire à quel point nous avons passé un bon moment lors de notre récente visite à la Maison Des Communes, Philippe et Federica étaient des hôtes merveilleux qui nous ont très bien accueillis. La maison dans un endroit tranquille était parfaite pour une escapade très relaxante loin de tout.
Beautiful villa in a stunning location. Inside there are large spacious rooms, which are all furnished to a high standard. The property was lovely and clean and well maintained. My husband and I stayed with my daughter and boyfriend, we had the lovely bedroom on the first floor which had a verandah with the most stunning view. I found it difficult to drag myself away from here each morning whilst enjoying my breakfast overlooking the village and church. My daughter had the double on the ground floor which was just as lovely with double doors opening out onto patio area. The villa was large enough for us all to have our own space and privacy. Outside the pool area was stunning, more glorious views. Plenty of sun beds for everyone, a very well equipped area and great pool! I also found it difficult to drag myself away from here, but glad I did as the area is so beautiful. A must is the Gorge du Verdon, the many hill top villages and a visit to the fabulous beaches. After a days sightseeing it was great to come back for a swim before going out to dinner. We did'nt travel far in the evenings as we really enjoyed the hotel in the village. The food was excellent, well presented and good service. Italian was also good. We also enjoyed shopping locally for produce, cooking for ourselves and then relaxing in the garden, followed by a game of boules, what could be better especially after a few glasses of wine! I would recommend a stay here and am looking forward to our return.
Nous avons passé un très bon moment à la villa, elle est magnifique et la piscine et les jardins sont incroyables. Nous venons en France depuis de nombreuses années et séjournons toujours dans un endroit différent et c'est la première fois que nous disons que nous envisagerons de revenir dans une propriété. Rien ne manque. L'intérieur est également spacieux, avec des chambres séparées. La maison est très adaptée à une grande famille et/ou pour 3 couples de par son agencement. La chambre principale est immense et la salle de bain séparée est très luxueuse et également spacieuse. L'endroit est très adapté pour un agréable dîner formel dans la salle à manger séparée. Nous avons mangé à l'extérieur tout le temps mais l'intérieur est très agréable aussi. Mon petit devait choisir entre le piano à queue et la piscine, un dilemme majeur. La piscine est suffisamment grande pour y nager et pas seulement pour y jouer. Elle est entourée de buissons de lavande pour une véritable expérience française. Duras est proche, vous y trouverez quelques magasins, bars et restaurants ainsi que des boulangeries, une boucherie, une pizzeria et un supermarché. Vous devriez visiter le Château de Duras, c'est une recommandation si vous avez des enfants. En résumé, je ne devrais pas trop la recommander... pour la garder pour nous !

C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons à la Maison Baleyssagues et toujours nos meilleures vacances. Nous avons déjà réservé pour l'année prochaine.
Had a wonderful week with friends in the magnificent Château Velouse. A lovely place to relax (by the heated swimming pool, in the sumptuous rooms and the very well appointed kitchen - not to mention strolling round the extensive grounds!). Hosts Phil and Claire could not have been more welcoming and have provided copious notes about things to do and places to see. Such was the relaxed atmosphere (and the heat!) we hardly felt the need to leave the château. Our suite was so grand, that it was even hard to leave the bedroom!
What a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful gardens and a lovely pool area. We had a lovely time at the Médiéval festival in Monflanquin (very special!) Gary and his team were fantastic. Would definitely come back!
What a fabulous three weeks we have had staying with you at the Loft again. Thank you again for all your hard work preparing the Loft for our arrival and, of course, for your oh so warm hospitality! So many new memories for us to take home and we are coming to terms with the Boules Trophy making its way to Guernsey this year! Thank you so much for accommodating all the comings and goings of our family and friends again this year. As ever, we have loved spending time with with you and it's great to reflect that visit number four is already booked for 2020. We know we'll be in touch in the meantime.
C'est avec le cœur lourd que notre famille de 3 générations quitte ce lieu merveilleux et magique ! Nous avons passé une semaine ici et nous sommes tous d'accord pour dire que ce n'était pas assez long ! Par où je commence? Le château lui-même est vraiment magnifique et avoir la chance de séjourner dans un château avec une vue magnifique est un rêve devenu réalité. Nous avons séjourné dans de nombreux endroits au fil des ans et pouvons constater que beaucoup de réflexion a été menée pour en faire un lieu de vacances aussi confortable pour tous, y compris les tout-petits. Nous espérons revenir! En attendant, un grand merci à Henrietta pour toute son aide avant et pendant notre séjour. Elle a même organisé l'achat d'un nouveau lit pour notre petit-fils de 3 ans. Très attentionné et bien au-delà du sens du devoir.
Le Clapier was absolutely beautiful, I’ve been going to France for the last 30 years on holiday and your house was head and shoulders above anything I’ve ever stayed in……The area is amazing and it’s a place that me and my partner want to buy in at some point. We loved the gift pack that we received when we arrived – very thoughtful.
What a truly wonderful place!! Although the photos show a beautiful place, they do not do justice to the reality, which was perfection. The chateau, its grounds and the location are all outstanding and so big! Lots of walks and places to explore. Gaelle, the host, was there if we needed, answering emails very quickly and offering help and recommendations . We were a party of 15 with ages from 3 to 73. Everyone felt comfortable and well catered for. A perfect holiday!

Fabulous place! This place is a paradise. We spent a family holiday (including three kids aged 2, 10 and 12) and everyone absolutely loved this place. The villa was very clean and kitchen equipment to the highest standards. Swimming pool where we spent most of the time was simply perfect. But what we enjoyed most was that there was absolutely nobody in sight. We were surrounded by vineyards. Having said that the villa is located only about 20 minutes drive away from the beach and we didn't mind making this trip everyday. But what made is all so very special were the owners who made us feel like home and spoiled us with their delicious wine. Thank you for your hospitality and see you again next week!
It is early spring. My husband and I decide to go to the South of France for a fortnight. Our eye has fallen on La Picholine. It is in the Gard region and close to nice places. Like Uzès, Nîmes, Avignon. What a surprising place on arrival. Two enthusiastic owners, proudly showing off their new domaine. There are two gîtes. A large swimming pool, several terraces and expansive views. Our gîte is very comfortable. Spacious living room with dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bedroom is very spacious with good mattresses. Large bathroom with two sinks. As it can be quite chilly in the evening in spring, this cottage has a wood-burning stove with hot air conditioning. It is comfortably warm then. The garden is tastefully decorated. You have your own privacy and that choice is nice. We had a lovely two weeks here and will definitely come back next year. Thank you Esther and Leo for your hospitality.
