On n'aurait pas pu demander mieux à La Barde ou à son propriétaire. La Barde était tranquille, confortable et avait tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin pour des vacances en famille. La cuisine était très bien équipée, c'était incroyable, les chambres étaient spacieuses et les lits confortables. Toutes les pièces étaient joliment décorées et meublées avec soin. Il y avait tellement d'espace dans la maison et les jardins que même en tant que famille nombreuse, vous pouvez trouver un endroit calme pour un peu de paix. La piscine avait une grande partie peu profonde pour les tout-petits, le jardin était idéal à explorer. Nous reviendrons l'année prochaine sans aucun doute ! Merci!
Nous nous sommes sentis si détendus dans notre petite bulle merveilleuse qu'il est si difficile de revenir à la réalité ! Une semaine en famille plus sereine au Mas Saint-Martial.
Nous avons séjourné ici trois semaines. Pour la première semaine, notre famille nous a rejoint: nos trois fils et conjoints. Cette maison regorge de beaux objets et nous avons adoré y être. Nous avons apprécié les beaux cadeaux de pâtisseries et de pain apportés par Philippe. Merci aussi pour le repas incroyable qui comprenait un gâteau pour mon 70e anniversaire. Nous sommes allés à la ville fortifiée de Carcassonne qui vaut bien une visite. Nous sommes allés à la plage et notre balade a été charmante. Nous sommes tristes de partir et le chant des oiseaux nous manquera. Je crains que le chat n'ait pas été accueilli par nos deux carlins et qu'il ait été chassé. La dégustation de vin à St. Chinian était incroyable. Nous avons acheté des bouteilles de vin avec des étiquettes incroyablement belles, la cave était décorée avec de si belles œuvres d'art. La visite en vaut la peine. Merci pour le vin de dégustation et pour cette recommandation.

Merci à Gaëlle et Etienne pour leur amabilité. Le logement est décoré avec goût et beaucoup de charme avec des touches personnelles. Les chambres ont chacune leur thème de couleur qui sont tous très grandes et lumineuses. Le logement est très bien équipé. Pour résumé un magnifique logement où on s'y sent bien !
C'était notre deuxième séjour ici. La maison est super et les enfants adorent la piscine. La maison est belle et propre. Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt !
Nous venons de rentrer de notre long trajet de retour depuis les Communes et aimerions dire que la propriété est absolument merveilleuse et ses hôtes fantastiques. Je la recommanderai à tout le monde. Je commence à chercher de la place dans l'agenda pour l'année prochaine et organiser un autre séjour.
We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...

Super séjour à Margon, Hélène est très réactive et disponible. Nous avions 2 bébés et le matériel (chaises hautes et lits parapluie) était à disposition. Je recommande vivement cet endroit pour se détendre et visiter la région. Merci encore à Hélène pour sa confiance.
Nous avons passé 2 semaines magiques dans votre magnifique château ! Un lieu exceptionnel qui restera gravé dans nos mémoires ! Nous n'oublierons jamais l'accueil chaleureux que vous nous avez réservé. Votre générosité et gentillesse nous ont touché le cœur. Perfect peace and luxury. Château Velouse is the perfect place to relax: large, beautifully furnished bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, extensive walled grounds, an orchard, seats tucked away under shady trees, well equipped large kitchen and a heated swimming pool with comfy beds and parasols. The château is far enough from the road to ensure that bird song is the loudest noise you will hear. We had a marvellous week with a large group of friends ( 15 for dinner one night ) and the château never felt crowded. The outdoor dining terrace was perfect of an evening and we sat late into the night laughing, drinking and playing giant jenga! This venue is perfect for a group of friends or family to spend quality time together in beautiful surroundings. You do need a car to get out and about and Bourges is well worth a visit when you can tear yourself away from the pool.
I have stayed here with friends on several occasions and the tranquility and serenity is something to treasure. Maison Bourriette and gardens are furnished to the highest standard with a special courtyard enclosed in the original barn walls. The pool and surroundings cater for the most ardent sunbather or swimmer. The welcome you receive is personal and nothing is too much trouble, thus ensuring your best possible stay. From the house you are near to many interesting attractions dotted around the rolling countryside but if you don't want to leave the sanctuary of the house, then there are numerous delightful walks on the doorstep taking you through woods to small settlements or even into Montaigu for quality food and drink. I cannot wait to go back again!

Maison does Vignobles is a fabulous place to stay to rest, relax and explore the Lot region. The hosts, Debbie and Rupert, were wonderful - generous, professional and totally welcoming. They supply everything you need and even more, with small surprises provided during our time there. We would highly recommend it and will return when we can.
The property was perfect for our two families, with ample accommodation and communal areas to relax together. We were spoilt for choice as to where we chose to hang out with beautiful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside especially from the back of the property. The pool was a real treat - large enough for our party of 8 to have endless fun in. The daily walk to the boulangerie first thing in the morning was really enjoyable, as were the local pizza's!
Beautiful villa in a stunning location. Inside there are large spacious rooms, which are all furnished to a high standard. The property was lovely and clean and well maintained. My husband and I stayed with my daughter and boyfriend, we had the lovely bedroom on the first floor which had a verandah with the most stunning view. I found it difficult to drag myself away from here each morning whilst enjoying my breakfast overlooking the village and church. My daughter had the double on the ground floor which was just as lovely with double doors opening out onto patio area. The villa was large enough for us all to have our own space and privacy. Outside the pool area was stunning, more glorious views. Plenty of sun beds for everyone, a very well equipped area and great pool! I also found it difficult to drag myself away from here, but glad I did as the area is so beautiful. A must is the Gorge du Verdon, the many hill top villages and a visit to the fabulous beaches. After a days sightseeing it was great to come back for a swim before going out to dinner. We did'nt travel far in the evenings as we really enjoyed the hotel in the village. The food was excellent, well presented and good service. Italian was also good. We also enjoyed shopping locally for produce, cooking for ourselves and then relaxing in the garden, followed by a game of boules, what could be better especially after a few glasses of wine! I would recommend a stay here and am looking forward to our return.
A relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of France. The house is delightful.
Private pool in perfect surroundings. Maison Meunier is a great little find. I stayed in the larger house last year so was excited to return to the area. Inside there are 2 good sized bedrooms, clean bathroom and kitchen with full facilities and a stylish and spacious living and dining area. And then there is the outside...! There is a beautiful pergola covered terrace with BBQ which is perfect for al fresco dining and evening chats over a bottle of wine (from the local vineyard of course). The pool has stunning views over fruit trees, the fishing lake and forest covered hills in the background. It feels very private and isn't overlooked. The pool is immaculate and perfect size for playing / floating / chilling. The pool area also has sun loungers and a covered portion for the shade seekers. The area of Saint Front-Sur-Lemance is beautiful. Very sleepy and laid back but has all the best necessary amenities within a 5 minute walk (shop, cafe, Albert's pub) or 10 - 15 minute drive (Blanquefort-sur-Briolance for moules frites at Auberge des Moulins or Fumel for bigger shops and 25m outdoor pool). The owners are great hosts; not intrusive but always nearby to provide advice or help if needed. We can't wait to return next year.

In the 30 or so years we have been coming to France for our holidays I don't think we have stayed in a more lovely house. A very tranquil spot, with everything we could possibly need. We have enjoyed our stay immensely, whether lying by the pool or venturing out further to the beaches or the Verden Gorges, all wonderful. Thank you for sharing your well loved home, the view from the swing seat is to die for!
The Manoir is magnificent in every way. A perfect base for exploring The Dordogne. We all had an unforgettable holiday with lovely memories to treasure. Special thanks to Pierre and the lovely ‘pool guy’! Hope to return someday.
La villa est une maison très confortable et spacieuse. Les meubles et les équipements sont d'excellente qualité. Chaque chambre a sa propre douche/salle de bain et toilettes ainsi que son propre espace salon/repos. Un bel avantage pour une grande famille, un groupe d'amis ou deux familles partageant le logement. L'espace extérieur est très agréable et privé. Il y a beaucoup d'espace où s'installer et se détendre. L'emplacement de la villa est idéal pour visiter les sites de la Côte d'Azur. Les transports en commun sont accessibles à pied depuis la villa, tout comme les commerces pour les besoins quotidiens. Les propriétaires sont sympathiques et serviables.
Impossible de surestimer la gentillesse et la serviabilité de nos deux hôtes, Caterina et Steve. Le gîte est paisible et très confortable. C'est un vrai plaisir d'avoir un canapé confortable dans le gîte, comme nous le savons par expérience. Tout le nécessaire est là : lave-linge, lave-vaisselle, étendoir à linge, réfrigérateur, congélateur, chaînes de télévision britanniques, etc. La télévision prend en charge les DVD. La longue piscine est nichée au milieu des magnifiques plantes du jardin. On peut y faire 20 brasses, elle est très longue, et les chaises longues sont confortables. Une table ombragée idéale pour des déjeuners au frais. Intermarché juste en haut de la route. Le plus ? La petite épicerie Casino local vend du pain tous les jours et deux restaurants sont accessibles à pied. Fortement recommandé par deux vétérans de la France. Visitez Lascaux II. Vous vous en souviendrez toute votre vie. Et visitez le marché du Bugue le mardi – la ville de Bruno dans les livres de Martin Walker. Le gîte regorge de romans : vous économiserez sur le poids de vos bagages.
What an incredible home base! We felt so fortunate to return here every day after days spent exploring the beautiful towns of Lot and the Dordogne. We wondered whether we might find Castelnau-Montratier to be a little too quiet, but were always grateful for the respite. The house and its quiet luxury hiding behind the unassuming little gate was a constant surprise to us and we loved every minute. Many thanks to Barbara for quickly responding to our every query. We are already wondering when we'll return! P.S. Viking chess is our new favourite game!
Nous étions une famille de sept adultes et avons passé une semaine merveilleuse à Challignac. Mark et Gary sont vraiment des hôtes exceptionnels. Le gîte était magnifiquement présenté et d'une propreté impeccable. Tout le nécessaire avait été soigneusement mis à disposition, y compris un savon liquide de luxe: inutile donc d'apporter le vôtre. La cuisine était exceptionnellement bien équipée, avec tous les ustensiles et appareils électroménagers nécessaires. Et si quelque chose manquait, Mark et Gary se sont fait un plaisir de le fournir ! À notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec un généreux choix de fromages, charcuteries, pains, en-cas, vins, bières, boissons sans alcool, thé et café ; un accueil parfait qui nous a évité de courir faire les courses. L'espace piscine était tout simplement divin : une superbe piscine chauffée entourée de nombreux sièges extérieurs et d'une superbe cuisine extérieure. Tout était réuni pour se détendre et profiter. Même si la météo n'était pas toujours de notre côté, nous en avons profité pour explorer les villages et les grandes villes des environs. Nous avons dégusté de délicieux repas dans les restaurants recommandés par nos hôtes. Dans l'ensemble, tout le monde s'est bien amusé et nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Un grand merci à Mark et Gary !
