Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à la Maison Charvin pendant 2 semaines en août 2022. La maison elle-même est charmante. Les photos sur le site ne lui rendent peut-être pas justice. Nous sommes une famille de 6 (dont quatre adolescents) mais il y avait suffisamment d'hébergement pour tous. Surtout, pour les ados, rien à redire sur le Wi-Fi ! Le village dans lequel se trouve la maison est pour le moins pittoresque. Il y a un restaurant fantastique à distance de marche, Vins de Dagne où la nourriture et le vin étaient vraiment exceptionnels (mais il faut réserver à l'avance). Il y a aussi un petit magasin, mais ce n'était pas vraiment suffisant pour autre chose que les articles de base (et un peu trop cher). Même si nous étions un peu inquiets du manque de parking sur place, ce n'était vraiment pas un problème du tout, avec un grand parking en bordure de route juste au bout de la rue. Le fait que les espaces extérieurs soient tous entourés de hauts murs nous a inquiétés au début, à cause de l'ombre d'un côté ou de l'autre à chaque extrémité de la journée. Cependant, le temps était extrêmement chaud et l'ombre fournie par le jardin de la cour était donc une aubaine absolue. Cela dit, la même ombre signifiait que la piscine n'atteignait jamais une température vraiment confortable pour les adolescents de ce millénaire et était un peu froide. Bien que, pour la plupart des journées les plus chaudes, à mon avis, c'était un soulagement bienvenu ! Ce sont les espaces extérieurs qui créent vraiment l'atmosphère de cette maison. Elle est complètement privé, sans aucun vis à vis, magnifiquement éclairée la nuit et bien équipée avec un barbecue, une table et des chaises (pour six) et une multitude de transats et de serviettes. L'emplacement de la maison était bon. La ville de Montlaur est juste : 20 minutes en voiture du Leclerc le plus proche juste à l'extérieur de Carcassonne. À 30 minutes du lac de Caracassone avec son parc aquatique gonflable et le site d'accrobranche et de tyrolienne "go ape". 90 minutes de la plage de Narbonne. Un peu plus de 90 minutes de l'aéroport de Toulouse et du rafting à Belvianes-et Cavirac (ce qui était fantastique !) Sharon était extrêmement serviable en cas de besoin, toujours joignable par téléphone, sinon nous avons toujours été tranquilles. Dans l'ensemble, c'était de super vacances et une maison que je recommanderais vraiment.
A beautiful house which we have enjoyed, lovely to swim in the pool, enjoy the views and sunshine. Very well equipped kitchen much appreciated, we shall return.
Just a short note to say how much my wife and I loved our stay at Les Faures in France last September. We were amazed and delighted at the size of the house with its many rooms and amenities, as well as the mood of relaxation in the beautiful setting which we were able to enjoy while there for two weeks. We enjoyed the large pool area and the expansive grounds, but we particularly loved the quiet and privacy of the country setting, but still near enough to the small local villages, with interesting cafes, markets and old buildings – just right for local drives to explore the beautiful area. So many exciting features - we would give this property a 5 out of 5!
What a truly wonderful place!! Although the photos show a beautiful place, they do not do justice to the reality, which was perfection. The chateau, its grounds and the location are all outstanding and so big! Lots of walks and places to explore. Gaelle, the host, was there if we needed, answering emails very quickly and offering help and recommendations . We were a party of 15 with ages from 3 to 73. Everyone felt comfortable and well catered for. A perfect holiday!

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday in this beautiful house with amazing surroundings! We visited several picturesque villages. Spent some lovely days and evenings around the pool and BBQ's. Totally relaxing!

We came to stay for a wedding nearby and were a group of 6 adults and our 18 month old twins. It was absolutely perfect for us! There’s so much for littles ones, loads of toys inside and a trampoline, swing set, huge garden and of course the pool outside! All very safe as well. Isabelle was excellent at answering all our questions and arranged for travel cots and high chairs for our little ones. She also helped us find local amenities etc. and provided a fantastic info pack with lots to do in the local area. We visited a lovely local lake with a beach, Saint-Émilion and a local vineyard/restaurant all around 15 minutes drive away. The bakery she recommended 5 minutes down the road was also delightful! Can't recommend this enough if you’re looking for a beautiful château in the countryside.

Nous sommes une famille de 3 à 78 ans et nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour au Château Périgord cette semaine. Nous avons été fascinés par la beauté de sa rénovation et de sa décoration. Tous les couples de notre famille avaient une belle chambre et la literie était confortable. Le jardin fleuri, avec sa lavande parfumée et sa piscine rafraîchissante était un vrai bonheur. Les enfants ont joué aux boules sur le gravier, au football sur la pelouse parfaitement tondue et ont passé de nombreuses heures dans la piscine. Nous avons préféré cuisiner nos propres repas dans la grande cuisine de style médiéval (car nous aimons tous cuisiner) et avons dîné à une longue table dans la cour. Château Périgord a tellement d'endroits pour s'asseoir et profiter de l'atmosphère, de belles fonctionnalités et de jeux qu'il n'était pas nécessaire de faire de nombreux déplacements ailleurs. Nous avons fait du vélo dans la région et avons fait du jogging sur les collines, puis nous nous sommes rafraîchis dans la piscine. Merci pour ce séjour fantastique et relaxant!

House and grounds are fantastic! Excellent facilities. The pools and toys have been lots of fun. We've had such a good week. It's just gone too quickly. We will definitely be recommending the château.
Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Your Loft is superb - the best rental property we have stayed in complete with an excellent and safe swimming pool and large garden, which it was very nice to play hide and seek in. Everything was beautifully laid out with amazing attention to detail and very well equipped. We have had a great two weeks here.

Nous venons de terminer un voyage de deux semaines en famille. La maison était tout simplement géniale ! Excellentes installations, et la climatisation dans les chambres est un véritable économiseur de vie. La propriété est excentrique ! Et il y a tellement de petites terrasses et d'endroits à l'extérieur où nous avons trouvé que nous ne nous sommes jamais assis. L'emplacement est idéal pour des excursions d'une journée et nous avons savouré la baignade dans la piscine après une journée bien remplie. Nous étions un groupe de plusieurs générations et tout le monde a adoré ! Le quartier est génial et accessible à pied. Boulangerie locale, stand de fruits et légumes locaux ainsi que l'accès aux supermarchés. Merci pour votre séjour inoubliable !
Peaceful French retreat. Lovely family stay here with great pool and Al fresco dining area for the summer months. Enjoyed being out in the countryside with local town and large supermarkets just a short drive away. Would certainly stay again.

We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...
Merci beaucoup ! Nous avons passé une semaine formidable. La villa est fabuleuse. L'emplacement est fabuleux aussi. C'est super d'avoir les vélos. Nous avons vraiment apprécié les merveilleux petits déjeuners frais. Merci aussi pour les conseils recommandés sur les endroits à visiter : Bize-Minervois, Bagès, Sète et Carcassonne. Nous les avons tous visités. Ils étaient incroyables. Le dîner au Pourquoi Pas ? était magique. Un endroit parfait pour célébrer notre 25ème anniversaire. Merci ! Vous êtes les meilleurs hôtes.
Quel beau séjour nous avons passé ! Nos vacances de deux semaines au Petit Pigeonnier n'auraient pas pu être mieux. Comme d'autres l'ont dit, l'emplacement est un mélange parfait de calme rural et de paix, tout en étant assez proche d'une excellente boulangerie et d'un magasin pratique. Si vous avez la chance d'y passer vos vacances, ne manquez pas les merveilleux restaurants à proximité. Debbie est l'hôte la plus incroyable, toujours là quand vous avez besoin d'elle et très discrète. Ses suggestions réfléchies et bien informées ont grandement amélioré notre agréable expérience.
Gorgeous villa with a breathtaking views! The villa was modern with quality features. The kitchen with an outsized breakfast bar opens up to a comfortable living room that overlooks a spectacular 180° view, which we enjoyed from sunrise to sunset. You can walk to town within 5 minutes, although there is a steep portion of the road, which has a large selection of gourmet restaurants and light shopping. We highly recommend this villa.
What a beautiful location, breathtaking. A very warm welcome, you feel at home because of the fine reception. The hosts help you with everything you could want. The gîte is also spick and span and meets all your needs. Had a very relaxing holiday. Exactly as it should be! We recommend it to everyone and will definitely come here again.
A perfect gite to spend a relaxed holiday. We loved each area of the Gite and felt very spoilt to have such a large area to ourselves. The attention to detail inside the gite gives a real homely feeling. The pool provided a lot of entertainment, and again very well presented. Debbie, the host, couldn't do enough for us and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. I can't recommend it/her highly enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
We, two couples, stayed the last week of June and the first week of July in Les Oliviers du Sud. We found modern comfort in an authentic environment in the well-equipped holiday homes Maison Carrée and Joie de Vivre. You can rightly say that you enjoy life here. Privacy, beauty, friendliness, a lovely swimming pool, the beautifully maintained gardens... it all comes to you here. And what we also appreciated very much: we arrived in a house where the basic necessities were present (such as coffee, tea, herbs and olive oil) and a nice bottle of wine and delicious (home-made!) cake were ready for us, which made us feel really welcome. Moreover, the area is also very attractive. From the tranquility of the domaine you drive to the liveliness and versatility of Avignon and Villeneuve and for example to Orange. The markets are very charming in the smaller towns nearby and there is also no shortage of nice restaurants. We really had a wonderful time, certainly also because of the friendliness of the owners.
En poussant la porte, nous avons été accueillis par l'oasis la plus spectaculaire - la maison n'aurait pas pu être mieux conçue, la cuisine était encore mieux équipée que la nôtre - la pièce de résistance était la cour et la piscine. Nous avons passé 2 semaines fantastiques dans la maison et le village était agréable et convivial. Nous sommes revenus cette année car nous avons essayé d'autres lieux de vacances mais incomparables, l'oasis dont nous nous souvenions était encore meilleure - le calme, la sensation de chez-soi à la Maison - nous venons de rentrer d'un séjour de 2 semaines - il est clair que beaucoup de soin a été apporté pour rendre votre séjour confortable - nous avons à peine quitté la Maison Charvin pour voir les nombreux endroits intéressants de la région. C'était trop dur de quitter l'oasis. Nos 3 enfants un peu plus âgés que lors de notre précédente visite ont adoré la Maison Charvin et eux aussi l'ont quittée à regrets pour rentrer chez eux.
Thank you for sharing your fantastic home with us. Perfect location and layout of the house, with a great outside bathing area to watch the sunsets with a glass of wine. Laprade not to be missed. Merci de nous permettre de profiter de votre jolie villa. Le cadre élégant de Baleyssagues a contribué à rendre nos vacances ici à Duras très relaxantes. Le site à flanc de colline était le lieu idéal pour admirer de superbes couchers et levers de soleil et les étoiles filantes. C'était dommage de repartir...
We LOVED our stay at Mas du Château. It is in such a beautiful, peaceful spot and the gite itself is great. Christophe has renovated it perfectly, with everything you could want - a real home from home- and he has thought of every last detail to make his guests comfortable. The pool area is fantastic, with a lovely shaded area to cook/eat outside. We were travelling with a young baby and there was everything we needed in the house for her too, which was brilliant! Christophe was on hand to help during our stay and was so friendly. We would definitely love to go back again. Thank you for such a great stay!
