It is early spring. My husband and I decide to go to the South of France for a fortnight. Our eye has fallen on La Picholine. It is in the Gard region and close to nice places. Like Uzès, Nîmes, Avignon. What a surprising place on arrival. Two enthusiastic owners, proudly showing off their new domaine. There are two gîtes. A large swimming pool, several terraces and expansive views. Our gîte is very comfortable. Spacious living room with dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bedroom is very spacious with good mattresses. Large bathroom with two sinks. As it can be quite chilly in the evening in spring, this cottage has a wood-burning stove with hot air conditioning. It is comfortably warm then. The garden is tastefully decorated. You have your own privacy and that choice is nice. We had a lovely two weeks here and will definitely come back next year. Thank you Esther and Leo for your hospitality.
Excellent, everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely space. It was so lovely to arrive to hot food after a long journey and to not have to worry about shopping for the first few days. We had a fantastic holiday and will book again for next year. Thank you both so much.

Passer une semaine ici était tout simplement fantastique. Nous avons apprécié les magnifiques couchers de soleil. Nous nous sommes bien amusés au bord de la piscine et avons fait un excellent barbecue. Nous reviendrons certainement.

Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique à la Villa Bellara. Jean-Luc est un hôte formidable et nous a tout expliqué dès notre arrivée. La villa est spacieuse et dispose de tous les équipements nécessaires. Son emplacement est idéal, pas besoin de voiture : boulangerie, supermarché, plage et restaurants sont accessibles à pied, tout comme la gare, qui permet un accès rapide et économique aux autres stations balnéaires de la côte. Je recommande vivement cette villa.
Deux semaines au Château Seyches pour profiter en famille, de la campagne en Dordogne et Garonne, du château, du vin et de la magnifique piscine... des vacances parfaites !
We adore this house - it is our third visit this year! The atmosphere here is so conducive to being happy and relaxed. And now to expose the biggest secret of the year - Christmas at Orchard Farmhouse has been a magical experience. The Baquiés are the most agreeable hosts in the world.
Stayed at the property for two weeks at the end of July. The property has been beautifully renovated and most things are on hand at the villa. The house has everything that’s needed for family and friends to enjoy from a great kitchen to a nice garden and patio and good sized pool. All in all this is a beautiful house in a lovely setting and I would certainly return.
I had the great pleasure of spending a fabulous week at this property. An oasis in the center of this charming french town. 3 minutes walk to the town where you find boulangeries selling fresh croissants in the morning; to lovely restaurants scattered around the cobbled back streets and a fabulous weekend market. The surrounding area has much to offer for those keen on exploring Agde, Sete or beautiful Marseillan, to name just a few. The property itself is decorated to the highest standard. You can see it was a labour of love. Stylish and yet homely. The bedrooms beautifully decorated light and airy. Beds so comfortable. The kitchen designed for entertaining. A huge open plan sitting and dining area perfect for a cosy family meal or a dinner party, as we enjoyed on more than one occasion. The outside area perfect for a long day lounging by the pool or chilling in the evening with the bbq going. A totally private setting! What more could one ask for. Great communication with the owner. Nothing was a problem. I would highly recommend this property, if you are looking for a 5 star experience in a stunning location.
Merci pour cette semaine délicieuse dans un cottage vraiment charmant. Même si le soleil s'est fait un peu attendre, le cachet de la maison a largement compensé. Les deux restaurants du village sont excellents ! (Pensez à prendre une lampe de poche si vous rentrez après dîner !). Sarlat vaut vraiment le détour le mercredi (jour de marché). Saint-Léon est un joli village avec un grand choix de restaurants. Lascaux IV est intéressant et bien présenté. Un grand merci à Caterina et Steve !
Fantastique villa en très bon état ! Très utile et réactif sur quelques questions que nous avions. La piscine est incroyable, agréable et profonde pour les enfants qui pratiquent leur saut !
Ces vacances en famille ont été exceptionnelles dans votre magnifique maison, où vous avez été aux petits soins : un accueil chaleureux, des fromages, des vins et plusieurs livraisons de viennoiseries et de melons durant la semaine. La générosité de ce repas du lundi a été un vrai plaisir : un vrai régal inattendu. La villa est vraiment spectaculaire, avec de très bons équipements, une piscine où nous avons passé de nombreux moments agréables, un barbecue et de nombreux coins salon. Les chambres sont toutes charmantes. Nous avons adoré l’emplacement et avons fait de nombreuses balades à vélo dans les villages environnants, notamment à Capestang pour le marché ; c’était un plaisir de rencontrer les habitants, et certains d’entre nous ont même fait du vélo jusqu’à Béziers. Un moment fort de ma visite a été la promenade jusqu'aux Gorges d'Héric pour une petite promenade et une baignade dans l'une des piscines naturelles, puis un verre dans la charmante ville de Roquebrun. Que de rires, de bonheur et de précieux souvenirs ! J'adorerais y retourner pour mes 70 ans, dans 5 ans ! Un grand merci pour ce séjour incroyable, grandement facilité par le soleil quotidien.
Many thanks for a wonderful stay here in Rieux-Minervois. From your welcoming and informative e-mails prior to our arrival and a most generous arrival meal (due to it being a Sunday!) we were truly made to feel reassured and wholly welcome - thank you. We enjoyed some lovely days out from the beach in Narbonne to markets in Olonzac and Carcassonne. We particularly enjoyed Minerve for the breathtaking scenery too. Our Son's favourite haunt was le Lac de Larayere. A week's stay has gone all too quickly for us and sadly we make our way home to the rain, no doubt! Once again, many, many thanks to you both for your hospitality here. We eased straight into our holiday due to your kindness with baby equipment.
Nous faisons écho aux commentaires de vos précédents invités dans votre belle maison et votre jardin. L'attente a été longue avant d'arriver ici, mais cela en valait la peine. Tant de vignobles, tant de châteaux mais si peu de temps. L'un de nos souvenirs impérissables restera d'avoir eu pied au milieu de la Loire sur le lit de la rivière. Nous espérons que la rivière reviendra bientôt.
Un accueil chaleureux de Frédéric qui nous a fait nous sentir comme à la maison. Nous nous sommes rapidement installés dans votre belle villa et dans ce cadre magnifique. La piscine était magnifique et a été appréciée de tous. Nous n'hésiterons pas à recommander la propriété à d'autres. Bella : C'était les meilleures vacances de ma vie ! (8 ans).
Juste un petit mot pour dire que nous avons apprécié notre séjour à la Villa Pey de la Salle, il y avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin, y compris la magnifique vue!
Thanks for a truly wonderful week. The house, garden and pool are really fabulous. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and didn't do as much exploring as we should have done as we couldn't tear ourselves away from the garden / pool. Don't miss Friday evening in Pézenas with the high street market, food, wine and music.
A beautiful house in a beautiful location, everything for an extended family of all ages.
Nous venons de passer un séjour des plus relaxants dans un gîte 5 étoiles de premier ordre. À notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par les propriétaires Mark et Gary, charmants et attentionnés, qui nous ont offert un panier de bienvenue et un réfrigérateur à boissons, une attention toute particulière. Le gîte est joliment décoré et mérite amplement ses 5 étoiles. La piscine et la terrasse sont équipées de tout le nécessaire, avec un coin salon et repas, ainsi qu'une cuisine d'été avec barbecue et plancha. C'est un endroit paisible et tranquille où séjourner et nous reviendrons sans hésiter.
Nous avons passé une semaine fantastique à Sarlat et ses environs. Le lieu idéal pour des vacances en famille. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les jardins d'Eyrignac et de Marqueyssac, mais il y avait tellement de choses à faire et à voir ici. Le Bistro De L'Octroi, en face, est fantastique. An incredibly magical week in this very special home. With such a large (chaotic!) group it was wonderful to have so much space that the energetic children had so much to keep them busy and even allowed the adults to feel like they had R and R! Very much hoping to be able to come back and explore more as we enjoyed it immensely!
Visiting Le Mas Pouget was like releasing a long exhalation of breath and with it, the stresses of day-to-day life. The house, as mentioned in the other review here, is indescribable. It is an oasis of cool and calm, in a basin of trees and regional wildlife, which soothes the soul. It is a stunning part of the planet and felt like a special, secret place that remains unspoiled. The accommodation is fantastic. Quirky and comfortable, with many social spaces to enjoy your party's company as well as quiet places to escape to when you need time alone. We were seven adults and two children (aged 2 and 7) and all got along famously over the course of our 10 days, thanks to the space provided. Frederic, Virginie and Laure literally could not have been more helpful. We had all manner of questions and they were incredibly receptive and responsive, helping us with any queries and genuinely friendly with it. We think everybody needs this place/space in their lives ;-) Thank you for a wonderful and very memorable holiday.
A beautiful house which we have enjoyed, lovely to swim in the pool, enjoy the views and sunshine. Very well equipped kitchen much appreciated, we shall return.

Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans l'appartement de Corinne. C'est très propre, il y a toutes les commodités utiles au quotidien, elle a pensé à tout. Endroit magnifique et paisible, superbe balcon pour se détendre. Volets et stores pour toutes les fenêtres et portes-fenêtres pour une intimité totale. C'est un endroit très calme et paisible où se détendre et juste à quelques pas des restaurants et directement sur la plage. Immense supermarché juste en face qui vend tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin, y compris d'excellents fruits de mer. Hautement recommandé.
