The highlights for me were swimming lengths in the warm pool, strolling around the beautiful garden with all the different types of trees (olive, fig, pomegranate etc) and exploring the delightful surrounding Provence countryside in its full glory. Despite being a large group of people, the house always felt cool and spacious and the amenities functioned perfectly. There is also a marvellous restaurant within walking distance. Thank you again for making my holiday so enjoyable.
Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à la Maison Baleyssagues. La maison était exactement comme décrite et nous nous sommes immédiatement sentis comme à la maison. Excellent emplacement, belle piscine, chambres et lits parfaits. Un grand merci également à l'hôte Frédéric. Nous reviendrons certainement.
Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique tous les 13, une superbe propriété pour une grande famille avec de jeunes enfants, la propriétaire a été charmante et tout s'est bien passé.
Quel bel endroit! Superbe maison et équipements. Tout et tout le monde ont répondu à nos attentes. Cela a déjà été dit mais nous sommes totalement d'accord avec tous les commentaires précédents. Nous avons tous passé du bon temps. Nous reviendrons.
Probablement les meilleures vacances que nous ayons eues. Nous avons appris à nos garçons à plonger, pêcher et à se relaxer complètement. Nous avons bien profité de la gastronomie française et du vin aussi.
We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...
Je voulais juste vous dire à quel point nous avons passé un excellent séjour à la Maison Brunet. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour. La maison, et surtout la cuisine, étaient parfaitement équipées pour profiter des produits locaux. La maison était impeccable à notre arrivée et les détails sont soignés. La piscine était rafraîchissante, propre et un atout précieux pendant les chaudes journées d'été. Nous étions une famille de 5 personnes avec un chien et nous avons tous passé un excellent séjour dans la maison, avec son jardin et son parc. Merci.
First things first - Karen, Russell and the girls (Mack and Mabel) are wonderful hosts. Warm, friendly, thoughtful and yet discreet. They love what they're doing and it shows as nothing is too much trouble. Their enthusiasm for their ventures (current and future) is infectious. Secondly is the 'Loft du Vigneron' - a fabulous property offering everything - and more - that you could hope for. Karen and Russell's sense of style has been imprinted on it and their attention to detail has left nothing wanting. Every comfort has been considered from the fabulous welcoming pack to 'The White Company' range of toiletries. The terrace was our favourite place with the sun streaming through the roof and the warm breeze cooling us down. Rieux-Minervois is a typical French village and perfectly situated to explore the entire Minervois region from Carcassonne in the West, East to the Mediterranean, and all the lovely historical villages North and South. In conclusion, we had a fabulous stay in a wonderful property with the perfect hosts - highly recommended without hesitation. Our very best wishes for every success in you new venture. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille chez Helen ! Nous avons apprécié le cadre idyllique de la maison avec vue sur le château de Margon depuis la piscine. Piscine également très agréable. Le logement était extrêmement bien équipé, il avait tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour et profiter au maximum du potentiel de la maison. Un petit plus pour les ventilateurs dans les chambres du sous-sol, qui nous ont permis de dormir pendant les grosses chaleurs. La grande table à l'extérieur nous a permis de prendre nos repas tous ensemble, en profitant du beau soleil. Nous pouvons recommander cette superbe maison, Merci !
Firstly what an amazing location for a holiday home! we usually opt for the French countryside and open, green spaces but you really have found the best solution here, with the peace and tranquility of the house and garden, coupled with the convenience of have the town of Carcassonne on your doorstop. we hugely enjoyed both and there is nothing better than walking to get your croissants in the morning or strolling out for drinks or dinner! The owner warmly welcomed us after a long journey and were spot on at suggesting places to go or recommending places to go or recommending places to eat. The house itself is beautiful and we love the mixture of old and new together. Thank goodness for the pool and the cellar cave to keep us cool in the summer heat! We have throughly enjoyed our holiday in your beautiful house and Carcassonne is such a friendly and spectacular place. Hope to return!

Lovely house in an ideal situation. We had a wonderful time doing a little exploring but mainly lying by the beautiful pool. It's an ideal design to sit in and cool off. Two minutes walk for croissants in the morning and Rose wine in the afternoon - the Supermarket! We agree its a 5 / 5.

Tiraillés entre la campagne, les châteaux, les vignobles, les marchés et la marche, le canoë, la baignade, ou la simple détente dans le jardin au bord de la piscine : trop de choix ! A really fabulous time had by all 9 in our 'gang', you have left no stone unturned here in this great house. Location is perfect, Revel is a smashing town with everything you need whilst still retaining the feel of a rural French setting. A holiday none of us will forget. This holiday has been great! I have really enjoyed playing in the pool and running round the huge garden for exercise. Written by a teenager pretending they are 48!
An amazing house with the best swimming pool we have ever seen! 16 of us stayed in this lovely house for 2 weeks as we took the little gîte as well. We had a fabulous holiday. You have to drive up through fields of sunflowers to get there – a great welcome. We had loads of children but the pool is so big they spent the whole time doing acrobatics in it – and there was still room for us adults, when we managed to peel ourselves off the sun loungers. Evenings were spent playing tennis on the courts in the house grounds, BBQs, or local restaurants.

Nous venons de rentrer d'un mois en France où nous avons séjourné au Domaine de Laure. Nous avons passé un séjour tout simplement agréable. Avant de partir, nous avions quelques réserves sur le fait que la propriété était attenante à la maison des propriétaires. Nous accordons une grande importance à l'intimité et l'expérience nous a montré que cela peut être parfois compromis. En fait, il s'est avéré que nous avions le meilleur des deux mondes - de l'aide chaque fois que nous en avions besoin - Pierre et Benedict étaient charmants - et une intimité totale le reste du temps. La maison est confortable, propre et bien équipée. Les lits king size et la télévision anglaise étaient un bonus. La piscine était propre et bien entretenue. Mais pour nous, c'était l'emplacement et la paix totale qui étaient particulièrement spéciaux - encore mieux que sur les photos. La vue était magnifique et le terrain très spacieux. La seule intrusion était le doux tintement des clochettes des chèvres... magique ! Nous n'hésitons pas à recommander vivement le Domaine de Laure.
The gîte is perfectly equipped, within a wonderful location with fantastic views. A completely restful and relaxing time, which is exactly what we wanted. The pool providing the ideal entertainment for the children, with the added bonus of Richard's net for competitive games of pool volleyball! Places to go - Bourg de Visa - market on a Tuesday evening, Brasserie and local goat farm Montage de Quercy - market on a Saturday morning Bonaguil at Fumel - great castle (although lot of steps) Le Boulve - local wine producers - free tasting and interesting tour Richard and Meryl were fabulous hosts - very generous with they time and knowledge. We really don't want to go home. So we have decided to squat! Plus we have fallen in love with Poppy! Thanks for everything.
