Nous avons passé une semaine brillante dans cette glorieuse maison. Les enfants se sont bien amusés dans la piscine. Nous avons passé une journée à Périgueux et effectué quelques visites à Brantôme. Nous n'avions pas besoin de nous aventurer plus car les enfants étaient tellement heureux à la maison. Nous reviendrons.
From the moment we arrived we have had a wonderful hols - Richard and Meryl's welcome pack - so thoughtful - made a huge difference and allowed instant relaxation! and Meryl's lemon drizzle and apricot jam were to die for! The gîte is in just the most beautiful location and couldn't be bettered, with it's 360 degree views, sunshine (well, weather permitting!) on all sides and glorious views of the countryside. The bird song while having breakfast or lunch was a delight. Highlights of the week include an amazing 4 course meal for €15 (make sure you are hungry!) and an afternoon's cycle along the canal at Moissac. We came quite early in the season so couldn't sample many of the restaurants but we are looking forward to the opportunity on our next visit! Thank you Richard and Meryl (and Poppy) for being so welcoming and such excellent hosts... and Richard for guidance on beautiful walks straight from the gîte.

Ma famille a séjourné à La Barde une quinzaine de jours en 2018 et nous y retournons entre amis en 2019. La maison est bien aménagée pour accueillir deux familles et un grand nombre d'enfants. Le jardin et le jardin sont particulièrement bien entretenus. Le salon donne directement sur une pelouse, idéale pour surveiller les jeunes enfants, et le vaste terrain offre beaucoup d'espace à explorer pour les enfants. Le cadre est calme mais facilement accessible depuis Ribérac.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison Gounou (August 2025). There were seven of us from the same extended family, aged from thirteen to sixty-two, plus two small dogs. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how quiet and peaceful the location was, which coming from south London was a real blessing. Although the house is situated on a small road, passing cars were extremely rare. We met some of the local neighbours when out dog walking, and they were pleasant and friendly. The house is beautiful and comfortable, very picturesque with a large gravelled driveway for several cars. We could close the iron gates to keep the dogs inside, which was useful. The pool was exceptionally clean, very refreshing and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped with plenty of pots of pans for large-scale cooking, including many le Creuset dishes. The rooms were spacious, the bedrooms comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms and toilets for everyone. Bedding was changed half way through our two-week visit. The surrounding area is full of old bastide towns with markets and medieval buildings, outdoor evening dining events, medieval fairs, artisan shops . Although it was thriving, nowhere felt too busy or stressful. We found lots of places to eat including a lovely restaurant in Monpazier (Privilege du Perigord) that served a tasty three-course lunch for 23 euros. Highlights of the stay: peace and tranquillity, ability to let go and relax. Lovely veranda to sit and read/relax/fall asleep, lots of books to look at, lovely sitting room. More than enough space for seven people and two dogs. Lovely local towns to stroll around.
We stayed at your villa in Pézenas for a week in September and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there.
Where to begin? Booked this wonderful house 10 months ago. Often looked at the pictures and thought can anywhere be so perfect... it can! The sheer joy of walking from room to room, spending entire days outside by and in the pool. Simple living in a sumptuous house which just keeps giving with it's character, beautiful art and furniture. Was this as perfect as I imagined? Absolutely. Would I come back? Without a doubt. Loved every minute'

The property was everything we were hoping for and more. It's simple yet beautifully done out inside. The outdoor areas are great, particularly the pool. It's so well designed for a family holiday. The local village is so cute and the hotel restaurant great too. And obviously the local wine was delicious too! Couldn't have asked for more.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour ici, en particulier le temps passé dans le magnifique jardin où nous avons profité du temps magnifique et où nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés - très agréable pour mon enfant de 5 ans ! De plus, l'odeur parfumée des fleurs fraîches était extrêmement accueillante et apportait une touche spéciale. Grande maison en particulier la piscine, le jardin et les couchers de soleil incroyables. Quartier calme, pour ceux qui recherchent vraiment un endroit pour se déconnecter. Nous avons adoré !
We just wanted to say we had a wonderful time at the beautiful Richelieu home. Maybe the most beautiful and well appointed vacation rental we have ever had. The property manager, Dawn, was very helpful throughout our stay. We hope to come back again someday.
We have had such a wonderful week at Le Chanlie, what a special place. From walks through the orchid-filled meadow to star-gazing evenings. The house could not have been better. Thank you. PS Lovely selection of books including field guides and wildlife.

Location de haute qualité pour 1 semaine avec nos amis et famille. Idéal pour une semaine de repos avec les enfants. Grande propriété avec de quoi s'occuper et se balader. Idéal pour découvrir le calme de la région. Je recommande vivement !
Lovely holiday home. This was the first time we had stayed in this area of Perigord. The house was fantastic, very large for 4 people and had a really good swimming pool. The house is only 2 km from the river which is also lovely to swim in. There is also a lake nearby at Grolejac as well if you prefer that. The property is in a quiet but central location with numerous beautiful towns to visit nearby (e.g. Domme and Sarlat) and lots of activities to enjoy. We had a great 2 week holiday here!
We have had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in this beautiful house in divine location. The garden is filled with wildlife and we've enjoyed many an hour listening to the birds and watching the bumblebees and butterflies. My recommendation would be to sit back, relax and just take it all in.
The property was perfect for our two families, with ample accommodation and communal areas to relax together. We were spoilt for choice as to where we chose to hang out with beautiful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside especially from the back of the property. The pool was a real treat - large enough for our party of 8 to have endless fun in. The daily walk to the boulangerie first thing in the morning was really enjoyable, as were the local pizza's!
An incredibly magical week in this very special home. With such a large (chaotic!) group it was wonderful to have so much space that the energetic children had so much to keep them busy and even allowed the adults to feel like they had R and R! Very much hoping to be able to come back and explore more as we enjoyed it immensely!
A wonderful week in the villa! The sun has shone and we've made the most of the pool! Very welcome relief from the heat. Villa is very well appointed - everything has been thought of. Local team were great, a quick response to our queries. We explored Pezanas and the beaches at Portiragnes and Sète - both fabulous! We agree - the welcome wine was a lovely thought - a good introduction to local wines! Thank you for a great week!

Another restful holiday in this little haven. Visited some lovely villages and ate wonderful food. The weather was kind - most days over 28° (and England had rain!) Warm memories to survive the British winter! Thank you again.
Quelles vacances incroyables! Nous avons passé une belle semaine avec un temps magnifique. J'ai vraiment apprécié la piscine et j'ai eu du mal à en faire sortir les enfants. Il y avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin et plus encore, merci. Nous étions très à l'aise et détendus. Les garçons ont adoré jouer dans le jardin et nous aimerions revenir dans cette maison et revoir Jean et Ian. Merci pour une semaine incroyable!
What can we say about La Maison Tournesol that has not already been said - we knew from the moment we arrived we were going to have a wonderful two weeks in this charming home in the French countryside. Meryl and Richard are such thoughtful and great hosts who think of everything to make this a real home from home. We have really enjoyed exploring the local area visiting local towns and villages with Moissac and Auvillar being places we will remember. The local market at Montcuq and night market at Lauzerte are both recommended and well worth a visit too. We are both sad to be leaving and hope to be able to return again soon.
J'ai adoré séjourner dans cette jolie maison. Le jardin était ma partie préférée. J'ai bien aimé me baigner dans la piscine. Je suis ravi de dire que je suis satisfait de mon séjour.
Merci de nous avoir permis de séjourner dans cette belle maison. Nous avions besoin de repos et de calme et cette maison était parfaite pour cela. Nous avons apprécié la belle nature, les beaux sites à proximité et la piscine rafraîchissante. La maison est très bien équipée et offre une vue des plus incroyables ! Si nous en avons l'occasion à l'avenir, nous serions ravis de revenir.
On n'aurait pas pu demander mieux à La Barde ou à son propriétaire. La Barde était tranquille, confortable et avait tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin pour des vacances en famille. La cuisine était très bien équipée, c'était incroyable, les chambres étaient spacieuses et les lits confortables. Toutes les pièces étaient joliment décorées et meublées avec soin. Il y avait tellement d'espace dans la maison et les jardins que même en tant que famille nombreuse, vous pouvez trouver un endroit calme pour un peu de paix. La piscine avait une grande partie peu profonde pour les tout-petits, le jardin était idéal à explorer. Nous reviendrons l'année prochaine sans aucun doute ! Merci!
