It is early spring. My husband and I decide to go to the South of France for a fortnight. Our eye has fallen on La Picholine. It is in the Gard region and close to nice places. Like Uzès, Nîmes, Avignon. What a surprising place on arrival. Two enthusiastic owners, proudly showing off their new domaine. There are two gîtes. A large swimming pool, several terraces and expansive views. Our gîte is very comfortable. Spacious living room with dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bedroom is very spacious with good mattresses. Large bathroom with two sinks. As it can be quite chilly in the evening in spring, this cottage has a wood-burning stove with hot air conditioning. It is comfortably warm then. The garden is tastefully decorated. You have your own privacy and that choice is nice. We had a lovely two weeks here and will definitely come back next year. Thank you Esther and Leo for your hospitality.
We had a wonderful time at Château Grandchamp de Chablis in Burgundy and will certainly be back. All details of both the house and the care of the guests are carefully thought through and attended to and we had the perfect combination of privacy and feeling attended to while there. The property is beautiful and the owners have wonderful taste. The grounds have a myriad of eating spots and activities including swimming pool, tennis, lovely walks and a feeling of privacy. The owners are gracious and eager to be sure you have the resources to make the most of your stay with their long experience and knowledge of the area. A special holiday to experience a French home of this level and explore the extensive area of Burgundy not far from Paris. A rare find indeed!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks here, very quiet and peaceful with plenty to do. A very warm welcome from the hosts.
Parfait ! Cottage du Jardin est magnifique, avec une attention particulière portée aux détails, et la piscine est incroyable ! C'était charmant et calme, tout en étant proche de tout ce dont nous avions besoin : de nombreux villages et villes historiques avec de superbes marchés et de magnifiques châteaux ! J'y retournerais sans hésiter, des vacances agréables et reposantes.
Your house is beautiful. So peaceful and delightfully decorated. We had a fab holiday exploring the area. The pool was glorious and the gardens, too. The morning view and sounds from the open window will never be forgotten.
Thank you Karen and Russell for giving us the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place. The Loft du Vigneron is one of the nicest places we have stayed, and we have stayed in many. The warm welcome we received when we arrived was lovely after our tiring journey. It was great to have you show us around, and your welcome pack was more than generous. The facilities here are all 5-Star; the Loft is spacious and airy, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and crockery and everything that you need, and more besides. All the ensuite bathrooms are of the highest standard with fluffy towels and pamper products (I want a new bathroom when I go home - I was spoiled here). Karen and Russell, you really know how to look after your guests and spoil them. We can't wait to come back next year for two weeks - one was not enough!
This is certainly the most tranquil villa I have ever stayed in. The pool and garden are quite lovely. Very hard to pull ourselves away. The area is wonderful. Finally I understand why so many people relocate to the Languedoc-Roussillon.
Amazing house. Feels very homely and comfortable on a grand scale. The pool was great and we had fun exploring the woods. Hosted very well, friendly and fun when rquired and hidden when not. Great, thank you.

Frans et Kate, quel plaisir de vous avoir rencontrés tous les deux. Alors que nos vacances touchent à leur fin, nous repensons aux moments merveilleux que nous avons passés ici. Venant de l'autre bout du monde, et nous fiant simplement aux quelques informations et photos d'un site internet ainsi qu'à des avis positifs, nous avons réservé pour quatre semaines, partagés entre impatience et appréhension. Mais dès la réservation effectuée, tout s'est passé à merveille. Nous avons mis à profit, presque quotidiennement, les informations que vous nous aviez transmises avant notre voyage en France concernant les lieux à visiter et les expériences à vivre. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié votre accueil chaleureux à notre arrivée. Le nom « Les Chambeaux » reflète parfaitement le cadre naturel des lieux, et l'hébergement était tout simplement idéal. En tant qu'amateurs de cuisine, nous avons trouvé la cuisine exceptionnelle. Nous avons exploré bon nombre des sites que vous nous aviez suggérés et avons pris grand plaisir à découvrir les marchés des villages environnants et d'ailleurs. En tant qu'hôtes, vous avez fait preuve d'un équilibre parfait entre disponibilité et générosité. Nous avons du mal à réaliser que notre séjour touche déjà à sa fin, mais nous en garderons des souvenirs impérissables. Si vous osez prendre l'avion pour Melbourne, nous serions ravis de vous y voir. Ou peut-être reviendrons-nous ici ! Merci beaucoup et à bientôt.

Where to begin? Booked this wonderful house 10 months ago. Often looked at the pictures and thought can anywhere be so perfect... it can! The sheer joy of walking from room to room, spending entire days outside by and in the pool. Simple living in a sumptuous house which just keeps giving with it's character, beautiful art and furniture. Was this as perfect as I imagined? Absolutely. Would I come back? Without a doubt. Loved every minute'

Many thanks for a wonderful stay here in Rieux-Minervois. From your welcoming and informative e-mails prior to our arrival and a most generous arrival meal (due to it being a Sunday!) we were truly made to feel reassured and wholly welcome - thank you. We enjoyed some lovely days out from the beach in Narbonne to markets in Olonzac and Carcassonne. We particularly enjoyed Minerve for the breathtaking scenery too. Our Son's favourite haunt was le Lac de Larayere. A week's stay has gone all too quickly for us and sadly we make our way home to the rain, no doubt! Once again, many, many thanks to you both for your hospitality here. We eased straight into our holiday due to your kindness with baby equipment.
What a wonderful property! The fantastic set up with different residences suited our family group perfectly. The outdoor dining area and the mini kitchen were great, and having so much fridge space there and by the pool was very helpful. Mireille was absolutely brilliant – both in terms of advice and information before our arrival and while we were here. Thank you for a truly lovely stay.
We were so impressed with the quality of this home with a high contemporary finish in every room. The kitchen and lounge dinner opens onto an exquisite terrace with far reaching views and ideal for outdoor dinning . Loved the pool area with private patio. This is in the centre of a charming village with all amenities. The unspoilt coastline is stunning and to think it's under an hour from the airport. We would strongly recommend this home and we can't wait to return. Did we forget to mention it's also exceptional value for money.
Nous sommes une famille de 4 personnes qui avons décidé de découvrir le Périgord. Nous avons regardé cette propriété et sommes tombés amoureux de l'extérieur : le château lui-même et le magnifique jardin avec piscine. La décoration intérieure était unique car il y avait un très joli salon avec un piano qui me rappelait le style du 18ème siècle tandis que la salle à manger avait des éléments plus médiévaux. Le deuxième étage comportait de nombreuses chambres, ce qui était très bien pour le reste de notre famille qui nous a rejoint plus tard. À cet étage, il y a aussi une deuxième salle de télévision où tous les adolescents traînaient. Nous avons dîné à l'intérieur le matin et dehors le soir. Nous avons apprécié les barbecues et (beaucoup) de bon vin. Les voisins, qui sont également des amis du propriétaire, étaient très serviables et gentils. Nous avons découvert toutes sortes d'attractions comme visiter des châteaux, déguster du vin, faire du kayak sur la Dordogne et assister à de grandes fêtes organisées par différents villages tout au long de l'été. Bref, nous avons beaucoup apprécié nos vacances dans ce magnifique château ! Nous reviendrons certainement pour d'autres vacances.

This is a total joy of a house. The photographs make it look beautiful - it is even better in real life. The pool is quite incredible - like being in a boutique hotel all of your own. A true hidden gem.
Where do we start! Arrived at the gite and drove through the private gated entrance to see beautiful grounds and a very inviting swimming pool. Jean and Martyn were waiting to show us around and were the perfect hosts throughout our stay. The gite, grounds, outdoor kitchen and pool all immaculate and made for the perfect stay. The washing machine, dishwasher and many fridges are an added bonus. The bedrooms and bathroom a good size, fab open plan kitchen, diner and living room. Lots of extras in the kitchen which is great. Lauzun is a great little village with all the amenities you need, several other pretty villages near by (Issigeac and Eymet are lovely) Large hyper/supermarkets and various shops in Bergerac, 30 minutes away or a decent size Intermarche 10 minutess away. We would highly recommend the gite and will definitely be returning. Thank you Jean and Martyn for your letting us stay in your lovely property and not forgetting the very friendly, fluffy, German Shepherd Tanner. We had the best time, enjoyed sharing our many bottles of vino and our evening with you in Eymet.
Nous restons à l'appartement pendant 3 jours. L'appartement est exactement tel que décrit, dans un immeuble résidentiel moderne et neuf, très bien situé juste à côté de la plage et à distance de marche des restaurants et des magasins locaux. L'appartement possède tout le nécessaire et donne le sentiment incroyable d'être "à la maison". Nous reviendrons certainement dans cet endroit exceptionnel.
La Maison Baleyssagues est charmante. C'est aussi beau que sur les photos, les lits sont super confortables, la cuisine très bien équipée et l'espace piscine et les terrasses extérieures sont charmants, dont une terrasse avec vue et des couchers de soleil magnifiques. Le gestionnaire est extrêmement serviable et a fait de son mieux pour nous aider à résoudre certains problèmes que nous avons rencontrés. Merci! Nous reviendrons.
Nous avons passé des vacances fantastiques. Le Mas Cregols nous convenait parfaitement.
Quelle merveilleuse semaine. La Malardier est le lieu de villégiature de rêve. Nous avons goûté à de la nourriture de qualité supérieure, nagé dans la piscine sous un soleil brûlant, bu à notre faim. Cadre incroyable. Belle vue. Nous nous souviendrons de cette semaine pour toujours. Nous aimerions réserver le Malardier pour toujours. À l'année prochaine - vive la France.
What a beautiful 'home away from home' you have created here. This first holiday has been everything we could have wished for and more. Your hospitality and company have been wonderful and matched only by the breathtaking accommodation and gardens. You have thought of everything and we have wanted for nothing and the delicious birthday cake was a particular highlight! We can't wait to see what the future holds for the main house.
