Nous venons de passer des vacances des plus merveilleuses dans une maison tout aussi magnifique, La Barde. La propriétaire nous a accueillis chaleureusement et nous a également préparé un gâteau inattendu mais très apprécié. La maison est absolument magnifique et grande, les pièces spacieuses et meublées avec goût permettent à chacun de se réunir ou de trouver un endroit calme. La maison est exceptionnellement bien équipée et les miroirs et les prises sont parfaitement placés pour se sécher les cheveux, un élément très important ! Fabuleuse piscine de bonne taille avec suffisamment de transats pour tous. Nous étions 8 personnes, 2 couples de parents avec nos 4 enfants adultes (18-25 ans). Nous avons tous convenu que c'était la meilleure maison que nous ayons louée (et nous louons de belles maisons depuis de nombreuses années). La propriétaire était tout simplement charmante et nous la voyions de temps en temps nettoyer la piscine tôt le matin. Idéalement situé à proximité des villes voisines d'Aubeterre et Bourdeilles et de belles promenades directement depuis la propriété. Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir à La Barde à l'avenir et pensons que ce serait idéal pour tous les groupes d'âge.
Ouah! Quel endroit incroyable! Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour dans votre jolie maison. Nous sommes pratiquement restés tout le temps à l'extérieur : barbecue, piscine et vues magnifiques. Que pourriez-vous demander de plus! Merci.
Quel endroit magnifique! Vous avez fait un excellent travail dans ce loft. Il est chaleureux, élégant, accueillant: et vous avez pensé à tout! Nous nous sommes sentis entouré par tout l'amour que vous avez mis dans ce loft tout au long de notre séjour. Il va resté sur mon économiseur d'écran quelques temps! Villa Funel était très propre, la cuisine bien équipée, les chambres, confortables et l'ensemble très lumineux et aéré. Le lecteur DVD et sa DVDthèque ont été super pour les fins de soirée. La piscine et le jardin sont un délice. Nous nous sommes bien reposés. Nous y retournerons très certainement.
Heaven on Earth. Our two week stay at Villa Chiavari was an absolute dream; I could not be more enthusiastic in recommending this home to anyone looking to spend their vacation in a veritable paradise. We were 2 couples, 3 children and 1 grandparent and booked an 'off-season' holiday at the end of September. Not long after our arrival we realised a major perk of booking 'off season': uncrowded beaches with absolutely perfect summer weather! Villa Chiavari's spectacular ocean-view infinity pool is surrounded by lounge-chairs and palm trees and bordered by a lush garden... good luck ever tearing yourself away. I should also mention that this lavish pool area is accessible by both the main living quarters of the house and by the bedrooms, which we found extremely convenient for our kids and elderly grandparent. Pool amenities also include a shaded lounge and dining area (also with an ocean view), a barbecue, outdoor refrigerator, pool toys and floats and easy access to a downstairs kitchenette. The grounds at the front of the house include a lush garden, an elevated hammock-hideaway in a quiet shady corner and an outdoor eating area punctuated by a lovely little fountain. The bedrooms are attractively furnished, comfortable and very clean. Five out of six have full attached bathrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, as is the main area of the house. The upstairs living/dining/den areas are elegant yet cozy at the same time and the entire back 'wall' of this floor is composed of large sliding glass doors that open onto a beautiful terrace running the length of the entire villa. There is a dining area and lounge on this upper terrace as well! The kitchen has every piece of equipment you can think of and if you're looking for the ultimate in extravagance, the owners will set you up with your own chef. They arranged for us a very personable French cook who prepared truly delicious, fresh meals that even our children were not afraid to eat. Sublime. Speaking of kids, families will find this home very child-safe. There are gates on stairways, the entire property is fenced-in (artfully disguised by beautiful flowers and foliage) and there is a smattering of children's furniture (highchair etc) available for use. We were also really comforted by the fact that the owners of this home are easily reached and are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking again and I encourage anyone interested in perfection to do the same!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison Gounou (August 2025). There were seven of us from the same extended family, aged from thirteen to sixty-two, plus two small dogs. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how quiet and peaceful the location was, which coming from south London was a real blessing. Although the house is situated on a small road, passing cars were extremely rare. We met some of the local neighbours when out dog walking, and they were pleasant and friendly. The house is beautiful and comfortable, very picturesque with a large gravelled driveway for several cars. We could close the iron gates to keep the dogs inside, which was useful. The pool was exceptionally clean, very refreshing and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped with plenty of pots of pans for large-scale cooking, including many le Creuset dishes. The rooms were spacious, the bedrooms comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms and toilets for everyone. Bedding was changed half way through our two-week visit. The surrounding area is full of old bastide towns with markets and medieval buildings, outdoor evening dining events, medieval fairs, artisan shops . Although it was thriving, nowhere felt too busy or stressful. We found lots of places to eat including a lovely restaurant in Monpazier (Privilege du Perigord) that served a tasty three-course lunch for 23 euros. Highlights of the stay: peace and tranquillity, ability to let go and relax. Lovely veranda to sit and read/relax/fall asleep, lots of books to look at, lovely sitting room. More than enough space for seven people and two dogs. Lovely local towns to stroll around.
Des vacances de rêve !! Ce château est incroyable, les photos du site ne reflètent pas sa vraie splendeur. Nous avons eu le privilège de pouvoir en profiter pendant notre semaine avec les trois générations de notre famille. Tout a été apporté pour améliorer notre séjour et nous avons passé un séjour des plus merveilleux. Merci beaucoup.
The château is absolutely beautiful, typically French and very tastefully decorated. It is also very comfortable and had everything our family needed. We enjoyed the pool and relaxed in the sun on the poolside seating. For cooler seating we used the veranda of the sheltered Summer house and a perfect eating and barbecue area next to the Atelier, which had a fridge for cold drinks. The Atelier also had every game imaginable and a TV area with a variety of DVDs and comfy seating. There is an electronic game/TV room in the chateau too, with seating for the whole family to have a 'cinema' evening. Outside, we enjoyed walking by the river, tennis, boules and table tennis and the children made full use of the slide and swing. The garden is beautifully maintained. We enjoyed cooking in the very well equipped kitchen and had leisurely meals together around large family tables, in beautiful surroundings. The guardians were friendly, very helpful and on-hand if we needed anything. All in all, we had a wonderful experience which we would love to repeat in the future and we thoroughly recommend Château Grandchamp de Chablis for a family holiday.

It is just as fabulous here in October as it was in June. The weather was much better than we expected, and we went to a couple of new places. We love the Library and Kitchen in the main house and look forward to seeing it all complete. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for joining us to share our wedding anniversary lunch at La Cambuse de Saunier. We can't wait for next June, when we will again be back.
Beautiful holiday destination, especially nice garden, optimal exposure. With young children there are many activities surrounding and great moments of fun by the pool. Everything needed for children. Quiet and peaceful setting with amazing views. Tastefully decorated and fully equipped. Highly recommended!
Le Petit Palais is a beautiful place to stay, in a very peaceful area. It had everything we needed and was perfect for a relaxing family holiday.
La maison est magnifique. Le mobilier et la décoration vintage mélangés à des touches plus modernes nous ont immédiatement mis à l'aise ! Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la piscine ! Et l'emplacement était également parfait. Pouvoir voir les bateaux sur le Canal du Midi depuis le salon rend la maison encore plus cosy et étonnante. Nous reviendrons certainement bientôt ! Merci.
Nous avons passé deux semaines formidables dans cette charmante maison. Nous avons adoré explorer les environs. Nous avons adoré faire du kayak et du pédalo sur la rivière Lot. Nous avons beaucoup profité de la piscine et du jardin secret. Un grand merci à Alan et Madeline pour votre gentillesse et votre attention, et surtout pour cette belle promenade. Une si belle maison! Nous avons profité d'un séjour reposant. Nous avons visité Sarlat, Bergerac et Périgueux. Nous vous conseillons le marché du dimanche matin à Aubeterre. Les sons de la campagne au réveil vont nous manquer.

Nous avons tous passé un moment fabuleux : nous avons profité du beau temps, exploré les environs, goûté aux délices des restaurants locaux et des fêtes de village/marchés nocturnes, participé aux fêtes médiévales (un moment particulièrement apprécié !) , et surtout, nous sommes reposés au bord de la piscine. I just wanted to say how much we loved the house! Absolutely perfect in every way and gorgeously comfortable beds. We even staged our own murder mystery in the house.

La beauté de la région et de votre maison sont de parfaits compliments. Nous avons aimé faire nos courses sur les marchés locaux et cuisiner ensemble dans la cuisine accueillante. Nous avons adoré notre temps passé dans la piscine et à jouer au badminton, ainsi que le temps à simplement profiter de ce cadre agréable et de ces vues. Nous avons exploré des grottes préhistoriques et des villages médiévaux, nous avons dégusté des vins de la région, visité des châteaux célèbres, descendu la rivière Dordogne en canoë et avons toujours terminé la journée impatients de revenir et de profiter du Château Périgord.
One of the best houses we've stayed in. Wow, what a holiday! We've just returned from a fantastic week at the house and all 14 of us have nothing but praise for the whole week. The house has been beautifully renovated and is perfectly equipped in every way. We ranged from 75 to 1 yr old and had plenty of space for us all. From the crisp white linen on the very comfy beds to the pizza oven, full sized bar, the lovely sun loungers and very well equipped kitchen... We couldn't have asked for more. The kids loved picking tomatoes and lettuce from the kitchen garden and my sister and I loved the fabulous gym with amazing views across the valley. In the run up to the holiday, I had all my questions answered by Mark and George was on hand for anything we needed during our stay. We're already planning our return visit next year, hopefully for a couple of weeks as one just isn't enough!
We have had a lovely relaxing weeknight at the castle. Wine tasting at the Chateau Grand Pierre. Night market in the village. Butchers and boulangerie I the village both excellent. Pleasant setting for pizza intent little square. House lovely. Setting on outskirts of the village was perfect for us. Thank you for sharing the home grown tomatoes from the garden.
We've had a fantastic holiday in this superb villa. We had great weather, food and wine! The villa is a really good base for visiting the Languedoc, Occitanie - we went to Carcassonne, Sète, Montpeyroux, Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert amongst other places and all within a short drive. The villa itself is really well equipped and has everything for a family holiday. 2 big supermarkets nearby and Pezanas is stocked full of restaurants and shops. The market on Saturday is amazing and well worth a visit. Thanks for a great holiday and we would thoroughly recommend the villa to others.
Beautiful and very well kept. A lots of thought had gone into creating a family holiday home. facilities very good, all that was needed and more. So child friendly and safe. Hope we can come again. Many thanks for a wonderful week.
Magnifique villa en pierre - un bon accueil pour les amis et la famille. Un excellente maison chargée d'histoire, parfaite pour donner à chaque visiteur des espaces magnifiquement privés (avec 5 lits et bains), mais avec de la place pour se réunir pour des soirées et du plaisir. Au cours de nos trois semaines, 15 personnes nous ont rejoint à des moments différents. Beaucoup de place pour cuisiner ensemble, barbecue, dîner à l'extérieur, dans la cuisine, l'élégante salle à manger ou au bord de la piscine. Nous avons eu un magnifique soleil d'automne près de la piscine chauffée, et la maison est bien équipée. Des problèmes mineurs rapidement pris en charge. Un design fabuleux - nous souhaitons simplement en savoir plus sur l'histoire de la maison. Excellent emplacement - avec une trajet de 5 minutes (en voiture) vers le village pour des croissants le matin, à peu près tout le nécessaire dans le village, à proximité des principales attractions (15 ou 20 minutes de Lascaux - 20 mins de Sarlat). Nous étions ravis et remercions Pierre et Marie.
Merci d'avoir été le meilleur hôte qui soit. Vous avez été si serviable et généreux avec vos cadeaux attentionnés et votre aide. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison, préparé de fabuleux repas, apprécié les repas en plein air et, bien sûr, la piscine ! Nous avons adoré explorer Carcassonne et le Canal du Midi. Merci beaucoup pour ces merveilleuses vacances.

En nageant sous le soleil à La Barde, nous avons vécu un séjour luxueux dans un endroit idéal pour nous rappeler les aspects les plus importants de la vie : la famille, la nature et l'amour. C'est tellement évident que chaque recoin de cette maison a été conçu et est entretenu avec amour. Une escapade parfaite dans les collines de Lusignac.
Nous avons passé un moment formidable, merci. Nous avons visité autant d'endroits que les enfants aient pu le tolérer et nous avons fait le musée Renoir sans rien casser !! Ils ont tous deux adoré la piscine et ont énormément progressé en natation. Notre plus jeune, Hal, est passé de 5 m en nageant provisoirement à 20 longueurs en toute confiance sans s'arrêter. Merci beaucoup de nous avoir fait partager votre belle maison!
Staying here was lovely - the house is stunning and is set in a really peaceful location. The view is really amazing and the house is really nice. We loved it!
