Great place!! We really enjoyed our week here. Pool, excitement of the stay, the tortoise and the location. We think that the tortoise should be named Trevor. :) We loved Bordeaux. Some great restaurants in Libourne: MA Restaurant and Bistro Maritime. Very enjoyable wine cellar tour and tasting at Château de la Rivière just up the road. Recommend Grotte Pair-non-Pair near Bourg. Thank you from us all !
Merci ! Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine dans votre belle et charmante maison. Elle est si bien équipée avec tout ce dont nous aurions pu avoir besoin. Nous avons tous adoré la piscine. Nos 2 filles se sont bien amusées sur le trampoline et ont joué au ping-pong. Nous avons été ravis de visiter à nouveau Montsoreau, 9 ans après notre dernière visite et maintenant avec 2 enfants maintenant. Nous avons eu un autre bon dîner à Montsoreau en regardant le magnifique coucher de soleil sur la Loire. Avoir du pain frais de Long tous les matins était un régal. Le temps a été parfait et les jours nuageux nous ont beaucoup soulagés. Merci pour votre hospitalité.
Nous y avons passé une fantastique semaine de vacances. Cette maison a une position incroyable avec des vues panoramiques dans toutes les directions. J'ai apprécié y cuisiner et me détendre dans la piscine. Merci d'avoir une maison aussi confortable et bien équipée. Nous n’avions besoin de rien d'autre. Un grand choix de routes où circuler à vélo. Nous espérons revenir.
Cottage du Jardin est magnifiquement entretenu et présente un intérieur magnifique. Ce qui nous a vraiment impressionnés, c'est son emplacement paisible au sein du parc des propriétaires et la piscine paisible où l'on peut se prélasser un après-midi ensoleillé. Le cottage se trouve à environ 5 à 10 minutes à pied du village. Vous y trouverez une petite épicerie proposant de tout pour satisfaire vos besoins, ainsi qu'un restaurant proposant de délicieux repas à des prix très raisonnables. À essayer absolument lors de votre séjour. Si vous préférez faire vos courses, deux grands supermarchés sont à 10 minutes en voiture, sur la route de Montignac. Montignac est une jolie ville avec de charmants restaurants au bord de la rivière. Le cottage est idéalement situé pour visiter les sites touristiques locaux, qu'il s'agisse d'un château comme le Château de Losse ou le Château des Milandes avec ses magnifiques jardins, ou de jolies villes et villages, nos préférés étant Saint-Léon, La Roque-Gageac et Domme. Un ciel bleu magnifique tous les jours avec des températures atteignant 36 degrés un jour. Cela nous a donné l'excuse parfaite pour passer quelques jours à nous prélasser au bord de la piscine et à nous ressourcer dans un cadre magnifique. En résumé, grâce au gîte, à la météo et à des hôtes parfaits, nous avons passé une semaine formidable, mais nous sommes repartis un peu tristes. Cependant, nous savons que nous reviendrons, plus longtemps la prochaine fois, car il y a encore beaucoup à voir dans cette belle région de France. Ce furent vraiment nos meilleures vacances. Have had a wonderful holiday, very restful and really enjoyed the pool especially on a hot day. Enjoyed visiting Sète, Agde and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Would love to return on day. Absolutely loved the pool and the garden. Would recommend Les Polmiers and Pézenas is a beautiful town!
From the moment we arrived to the warm welcome until our final evening, we have loved every second of our stay. Your helpful advice and local knowledge have been invaluable. The house could not be in a better location, fabulous views and only minutes from the bakery. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
This is our 3rd visit and yet again we have had a lovely time. Weather a little more energetic than previously but still lovely and warm. So relaxing, peaceful and calm, with the advantage of Poitiers to explore and the fantastic bakeries nearby. Thank you so much again.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chex Eva. Tout était parfait, nous avions quelques demandes qui ont étaient remplies avec grand soin et investissement. Hôte très réactive également ! Le lieu est très propre, au calme et l'environnement est magnifique ! Je recommande.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Dale et sa femme. Très confortables, la maison principale et le gîte peuvent accueillir 6 personnes : 3 chambres spacieuses et très belles, chacune avec sa propre salle de bain. L'espace est très vaste et les équipements sont de qualité. Le logement est rénové avec goût et tout est pensé pour vous garantir un excellent séjour. La piscine est superbe ! C'est très calme et paisible, un véritable lieu de repos et de ressourcement. Il y a de belles choses à voir dans les environs, mais avec un peu de route. Dale et sa femme sont des hôtes attentionnés, ils nous ont laissé un joli panier rempli de gourmandises à notre arrivée. Si nous en avons l'occasion, nous reviendrons avec plaisir ! Vous pouvez y aller sans hésiter !
Wow! What a week, went so fast but was a truly special. The chateau is so grand with secrets to be found all around. Paul, Julie and Steven were amazing, taking us fishing and ensuring we had all we needed! I will miss this place and already want to come back!! Thank you!!
We had a superb 11 day stay in Fitou. Everything was as expected when we arrived - the property has everything you would expect and more when travelling with young children - in our case a 10 month old as well as 2½ year old twins. The car beds were a huge hit with the twins! The village of Fitou is also really nice - there are over 10 wines caves selling high quality local Fitou. There are also some excellent restaurants - would recommend Vidals if you are taking the kids. Outside of Fitou, Perpignan, Narbonne and Carcassonne are all realistic day trip options and the resort of Leucate is also good for a more traditional seaside ambience.
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. Another restful holiday in this little haven. Visited some lovely villages and ate wonderful food. The weather was kind - most days over 28° (and England had rain!) Warm memories to survive the British winter! Thank you again.

We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...
Merci de nous avoir laissé votre magnifique maison. Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse avec un temps parfait, des excursions très intéressantes et nous avons très bien mangé. Nous serions très heureux si possible de louer la maison pour une ou deux semaines l'année prochaine.
Cette maison offre tout ce que vous recherchez pour une famille souhaitant le calme et la tranquillité tout en profitant de votre propre piscine. L'hôte a aménagé sa maison pour le confort de ses visiteurs, ce qui signifie que vous pouvez simplement entrer et vous sentir comme chez vous. Nous avons demandé un ménage à mi-séjour qui s'est terminé alors que nous étions sortis. L'emplacement: Seillans est un magnifique village historique de carte postale situé à flanc de colline. Il est calme mais compte de nombreux restaurants de standing, tous près de fontaines et sous de grands arbres. Plus loin, il y a d'autres villages à visiter et de nombreux magasins/restaurants où s'arrêter pour bien manger ou boire. Nous avons visité Cannes car elle n'est qu'à environ 50 minutes en voiture et c'est un endroit magnifique avec sa plage. Merci pour ces vacances merveilleuses et mémorables.
Domaine du Château is the most beautiful and well equipped house ever. Better in the flesh than the photographs suggest. We stayed as a group of 11 extended family members and a couple of babies. Largely because of babies and children, we wanted a place with a pool where kids could be when adults were doing other things. Domaine du Château was perfect for this. The owners, have a history of taking groups to rental houses around Europe. They took notes and used them in renovating this property, resulting in attention to detail that makes everything work for a large group. I cannot think of a single thing that was lacking in making the house work for us. There is an exceedingly well equipped cook's kitchen. Every bedroom was beautiful with en suite bathrooms. They have cribs and the ability to turn the bedrooms (or at least some of them) from queen beds to twins. The bedrooms are arranged in pairs with good separation from other pairs of bedrooms. All are well away from public rooms where there might be noise. There are even two pairs of washers and dryers, so no queue for doing laundry. There are multiple outdoor terrace areas and a stunning view from the salon terrace over the pool to the hillside village beyond. The house is about 40 minutes from Beaune in a beautiful rural area. It is a great cycling area. The Voie Verte that runs from Santenay to Nolay might be the most scenic ride in Burgjndy. Once you get on it, you are completely separate from cars and riding on the level through stunning vineyards all the way. The house is also close to the Canal du Centre which is another great biking opportunity along the old towpath. Beware that the house is uphill from both, so the return may be a bit challenging for some riders. We rented bicycles from Bourgogne Randonées in Beaune. They were delivered to the house and were in mint condition. Must not forget Stephen and Lilly, the house managers. They live in a separate area of the property. They are a delightful couple with an enviable history of adventurous living. They were completely unobtrusive, but there to meet any need we might have, including doing the shopping for us one day. On the subject of shopping, do not miss the Sunday morning market in Chagny. There are dozens of vendors with beautiful local produce, cheese and meat, as good as can be found anywhere.
Je suis revenu aux Fumerates pendant cinq années consécutives et j'ai toujours passé un moment des plus merveilleux ici. Les Fumerates sont d'une beauté époustouflante et le cadre est inégalé. La piscine à débordement et la vue sur la mer sont incroyables. Très bien situé - très calme, mais proche de St Paul de Vence. Nous en partons toujours très détendu et revigoré. Je ne saurais trop le recommander !

An amazing week of relaxation. Spent a fantastic week at Château Velouse. Located in a tiny village the château is just a short drive from lots of interesting locations in the Loire valley. Château Velouse has everything you need for a relaxing week - beautiful bedrooms, lovely outdoor pool, barbeque and al fresco dining area and lovely dining room and lounge. We chose to self-catering but there are options to hire in a chef to prepare meals for your group. There was also lots of information in the château guide about other tailored services that were available such as wine tours. Claire and Phil made sure that everything was perfect for our stay and recommended places to visit.

Immaculate! Everything was soptless. We had everything we needed. Thank you for accommodating us. Love the pool! The BBQ was great for evening meals altogether. Au fil des ans, nous avons passé des vacances en famille dans de nombreuses villas françaises et La Charmante Distillerie surpasse sans conteste toutes les autres. La qualité de l'hébergement, tant sur le plan pratique qu'esthétique, est irréprochable : la climatisation fonctionne parfaitement et silencieusement, le chargeur de voiture (22 kW) était excellent (nous avions deux véhicules électriques), la qualité des équipements est irréprochable, les lits confortables et les quatre salles de bain impeccables. La décoration et les œuvres d'art sont également très agréables. À l'extérieur, le terrain est magnifique, les jardins bien entretenus et la piscine vaste et parfaitement équipée. Nous avons passé de nombreux déjeuners agréables sous le joli auvent et profité de l'excellent barbecue à plancha. Mark et Gary ont été extrêmement accueillants et généreux avec les provisions et les boissons qui nous étaient laissées. Nous n'avons rien laissé de côté ! En résumé, un merveilleux second chez-soi pour passer du temps en famille – nous étions deux chacun sur trois générations, et nous ne nous sommes jamais disputés. Je ne peux pas recommander suffisamment La Charmante Distillerie, et c'est dommage que nous n'ayons pu y rester qu'une semaine.
