A lovely town house in a quiet village, with the added bonus of a pool. We enjoyed dining on the terrace in the evening watching the sun set.
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. As per other reviews the house was great with stunning views. All the things you need to have a great holiday. The weather was still hot with some days in the mid 30s, so we took advantage of the swimming pool and relaxed around the house. The house is a great location for cycling, there is the obvious challenge of Mount Ventoux and there are some excellent roads in the surrounding area with stunning scenery. For those interested in wine then I would highly recommend Paul from Rhône wine tours. He came to the house and we did wine tasting with him and we learnt about wines of the Rhône valley, while the kids played in the pool. Great if you don't want to take a tour with kids at the winery.
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour ici ! Très jolie villa, conviviale et élégante, avec une vue imprenable depuis la terrasse. Très bien située (à quelques pas des commerces et à quelques minutes en voiture) des villes/plages et lacs environnants.
Our family loved staying in this farmhouse. We couldn't get the kids out of the pool, the sunsets were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the birds fly all around us. It was a great place to come home to after a full day of sightseeing. Very relaxing!
Thank you so much for arranging our stay in Maison Augustin. The house was marvellous and ideal for our family of 14. Four children, three partners and five grandchildren, ranging from 10 months to twenty years. They all thought it was a great location. In rural France but with a bar a couple of hundred metres away! The pool was much used by one and all with a ceremonial whole family jump on the last night (excluding 10 month old Alice!)
Anthony and Rachel make wonderful hosts being friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and also very generous with their excellent "welcome pack". We loved the whole region: Carcassonne and Mirepoix are a "must" (the owners of the "Mad Hatter" cafe in Mirepoix are Brits) and we enjoyed the markets at Mirepoix and Revel. Also enjoyed the drive south from Revel through the pretty villages/small town of Saissac. Lagrasse is a pleasant village but a tad overrated in our view. On the other hand, we loved Minerve and the Minervois region including the small town of Caunes-Minervois. Fontfroide is worth a visit and Montesegur is a must if in that area. We enjoyed Peyriac de-Mer and Gruissan on the coast but would avoid Narbonne Plage on another occasion - great beach though! Toulouse is a pleasant city and worth a visit if cities are "your thing" and the SNCF smartphone app worked brilliantly. For a special lunch, Cote Resto is a must. Excellent food and in a wonderful setting.
Idyllic place. Very peaceful break had by all. Garlin is a lovely village. Great bakery for fresh bread and the essential Ecomarket. All in all, great location - awesome house that's been fitted out to a very high standard throughout and a wonderful, unspoilt part of France that we'd never been to before.
We have used Pure France and other similar companies over many years, but I do not believe I have heard how highly rated they thought this particular property was - ever! As a result of the standard of accommodation, gardens and the local surrounding area, we are already trying to see if there is anything which can beat it for next year, especially for standards of finish and value for money (if you can recommend anything similar, please let us know)? I work in the construction industry as a design manager and can see someone has spent a lot of time and effort in getting the best out of this large old building, bringing it up to a high standard with well considered interior design - obviously the owner has considered in a lot of detail. Please pass on our thanks for being able to use the property.
We have absolutely loved our stay here. The house, the pool, the garden, the position and the privacy are all spot on. Lisa and Wayne have been great - helpful and discreet at the same time. Many thanks and look forward to a future visit.

Comme les locataires précédents, nous avons apprécié le calme, la piscine, le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse avec la jolie vue sur les vignes et la garrigue. Nous avons particulièrement été sensibles aux nombreuses attentions de bienvenue de la propriétaire et sommes ravis d'avoir fait la connaissance de Marie et de sa famille, des"gardiens" au top! Ravis de notre séjour.
A lovely place, house, garden and holiday. Nyons is a great town to have so nearby. Very relaxed and at peace on departure.
Merci pour ces belles vacances. Votre maison est magnifique, bien équipée et très propre. La piscine est incroyable, si merveilleuse pour se rafraîchir et les enfants se sont bien amusés à y jouer tous les jours. Nous avons adoré Lagrasse, la ville de Carcassonne et le lac près de Carcassonne a été très apprécié par les enfants. Nous avons mangé aux Vins de Dagne quelques soirs et la nourriture et le vin étaient excellents. Dommage que le magasin soit fermé, cela aurait juste rendu les choses un peu plus faciles mais les croissants/baguettes que nous avons commandés aux Vins de Dagne étaient super. Les moustiques étaient un peu pénibles et la chaleur extrême vers la fin de notre séjour - mais c'est la nature ! Merci également beaucoup pour toute votre aide et vos conseils !
This is our second family holiday in this wonderful house. The welcome from Ian and Hugh when we arrived was excellent. The house and garden are beautifully cared for and the standard of accommodation is 'five star'. It felt like home from home rather than a soleless rental property. Having the owners on site was a plus as they where able to guide us with local activities and restaurant recommendations... there is a lot to do in this area and being so close to some of the best wine regions in the world is definitely a big plus. We also has a lovely day in Bordeaux, which is an easy drive or train journey and well worth the effort. We plan to return next year for our summer break and I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful peaceful haven to anyone wishing to experience the best in hospitality! Thank you Ian and Hugh, you have created something very special!
La piscine est fantastique. Nous sommes tout à fait d’accord avec tous les commentaires positifs. Séjour de 5 étoiles, la piscine est fantastique, le logement extrêmement confortable et bien aménagé. Tout était à disposition pour un séjour reposant et enrichissant grâce à nos hôtes formidables et attentionnés.
Many thanks for a wonderful stay. You have made the place very comfortable and welcoming and so safe for children. So many interesting things to discover in the region to. In one word it has been the 'perfect' holiday for the whole family (10 of us!). We do hope to return, 'donc je vous dis à bientôt et mille mercis'.

La Barde est bien plus qu'une maison de vacances - une vraie maison joliment décorée, très confortable et propre et avec une cuisine spacieuse et bien équipée dans laquelle c'était un plaisir de cuisiner. L'hôte nous a vraiment bien accueillis et s'est mis en quatre pour fournir tout ce dont nous avions besoin, des cartes claires qu'elle a envoyées pour nous aider à trouver la maison, à des informations sur le kayak et même nous apporter de nombreux jeux et DVD supplémentaires lorsque la pluie est tombée le deuxième jour. Malgré le temps, nous avons vraiment apprécié la piscine dans ce cadre magnifique et les garçons ont aimé jouer au football dans la prairie. Les jardins sont magnifiques et nous avons aimé explorer et marcher jusqu'à la ruelle et jusqu'au petit bar du village. Nous avons loué des vélos qui ont été livrés et récupérés et c'était un excellent moyen d'explorer la campagne et les villages environnants. Nous espérons tous revenir l'été prochain, il y a encore tellement de choses à voir dans la région, mais même si le soleil avait brillé, je ne pense pas que nous aurions quitter le jardin et la piscine ! Merci pour ces vacances vraiment mémorables.
Very relaxing. Wonderful venue. Would have no hesitation recommending this magnificent château to friends and family. Hosts very knowledgeable and took time to recommend places to visit. A very beautiful home. Glad we got to experience it. Wonderful setting.
We thought that the Loft was lovely. We've had a great two weeks in beautiful accommodation. We've enjoyed exploring the region but have left plenty to do to give us a reason to come back. I know the girls will miss Mack and Mabel - we'll keep you posted if we succumb to their requests to get one of our own! Thank you both for your company and warm hospitality.

Un havre de paix idyllique dans la campagne gersoise. La chambre était d'un confort exceptionnel et offrait une vue imprenable sur les vignes. Notre hôte, David, nous a préparé un repas exceptionnel le soir de notre arrivée, ainsi qu'un petit-déjeuner français composé de fruits, de yaourts, de pain, de croissants, de fromage et de délicieuses confitures chaque matin. Il a également été d'une grande aide pour nous conseiller sur la région, les choses à voir et les restaurants. Une chambre d'hôte chaleureuse et accueillante. À recommander sans hésiter.
It has been fun cooking and eating out on the terrace with the wonderful views.
It hardly seems like any time at all since we arrived a fortnight past. Time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve certainly enjoyed ourselves immensely. We have so appreciated your wonderful hospitality once more - not least the delicious bacon sandwiches! And what splendid lunches we had with two new restaurants we must definitely visit next time as we are already booked in with you for the three of us next June. We especially enjoyed exploring your beautiful garden during our stay this time. A l’annee procaine!
We loved the villa, everything was perfect. The children loved it and my 3 year old son refuses to go home. Beautiful fruit from the garden.
