An amazing house in a part of France which is so rich of culture, beauty, villages, churches, fields of sunflowers and I must say, it is difficult to leave the house... real stylish home. The kitchen inspires to cook, the outside place gives you the opportunity to swim, read, eat, enjoy the sun. The bedrooms, mattresses and linen and perfect.
A wonderful return visit to Villa Kali and this beautiful area of France. Weather has been great all week with plenty of sunshine, with the pool providing much needed relief. Enjoyed visits to Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert and Montpellier, as well as several trips to Pèzenas, particularly the ice cream shops! Enjoyed meals at Les Palmiers (quite expensive) and Chef Brasserie Chez Hansi (good value). Saturday market in Pèzenas worth a visit and Serignan Plage probably the best beach. The patisserie / boulangerie opposite Carrefour does great bread, croissants and gateaux. Look forward to a return visit in the future. Thanks for a great holiday! 5 / 5.
A great time was had by all. We loved this little piece of paradise in Provence! Magnifique! Hope we'll be back again sometime.
Le paradis absolu. Ma famille, quatorze d'entre nous de 70 à 1 an, a passé deux semaines mémorables et joyeuses au Manoir Alvère. La maison et le terrain sont magiques. Une promenade facile vous emmène dans le village, et il y a beaucoup de très bons endroits où manger à quelques minutes en voiture. L'arrivée et le départ sont faciles avec la propriétaire et le gardien Georges était sur place en cas de problème. J'envie tous ceux qui se retrouvent dans cet endroit très spécial !
Les Fumerates, c'est un chez-soi élégant et confortable dans le sud de la France. C'est un point de départ idéal pour explorer le charmant village de Saint Paul de Vence, mais la majeure partie de votre séjour ici devrait être consacrée à vous détendre au bord de la fabuleuse piscine (et chauffée !) de la villa avec un bon livre et à profiter de la vue panoramique. Fortement recommandé pour un voyage calme et relaxant avec vos proches.
La vue depuis l'appartement est plus époustouflante que ce que les photos peuvent capturer, tout comme la piscine. L'espace extérieur est confortable et relaxant avec vue sur la mer. L'appartement était très propre et équipé de toutes les commodités dont on peut avoir besoin pour des vacances. Il y a de nombreux restaurants à quelques pas, un fabuleux supermarché où tout vous procurer juste en face et l'appartement n'est également qu'à quelques pas de la gare pour des excursions d'une journée à Cannes, Antibes, Nice voire au-delà. L'arrêt de bus pour l'aéroport est également très proche. Il n'y a rien à redire sur l'appartement. C'était parfait à tous points de vue.
La Maison Capitelle a dépassé nos attentes. Un séjour vraiment agréable.
Piscine incroyable et lits extrêmement confortables ! Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre court séjour dans votre magnifique villa, ce n'était certainement pas assez long ! Nous avons tout aimé, l'emplacement, les vues spectaculaires, la piscine incroyable et les lits extrêmement confortables ! L'ensemble était impeccablement présenté et vous nous avez très bien accueillis ! Nous avons certainement apprécié la bouteille à notre arrivée après le voyage que nous avions effectué ! Nous serions ravis de revenir dans un avenir pas trop lointain.
Went to this beautiful holiday cottage for the second time. What a great experience again this time. We were warmly welcomed and our house felt like coming home again. Host and hostess Leo and Esther gave us great tips so that our holiday became a great experience again. The visit to Nîmes was impressively beautiful. I especially recommend visiting Avignon to everyone with its beautiful center and the cozy terraces around the market square. The swimming pool overlooking the vineyards is a pearl. The silence descends on you wonderfully in the evening. Truly unique. Thank you for another great holiday.
The house is great. Lovely warm pool, table tennis table, huge grounds, lovely area, lots of culture nearby, nice local town with excellent market.
Nous avons passé deux semaines merveilleuses à la Maison Carcavi. Le logement était bien équipé, spacieux et très confortable. Debbie était une hôte fantastique et nous a vraiment bien accueillis. Elle était là pour nous aider sans être envahissante. C'était un plaisir de l'avoir à disposition pour nous conseiller sur les sorties, les restaurants, etc. Les jardins et la piscine étaient fantastiques et bien entretenus. La région est magnifique et offre de nombreuses possibilités d'exploration, mais nous n'avons pas l'impression d'être sur un sentier touristique fréquenté. Nous avons apprécié les marchés locaux, les promenades, les activités sur la rivière et la découverte des villages et des vignobles locaux. Nous recommandons vivement et espérons y retourner bientôt.
Spent a weekend here in September 2023. The domaine has been very skilfully and tastefully converted into a very luxurious residence with swimming pool! The overwhelming tranquillity, the beautiful gites, the stunning surroundings combined with the care of the perfect hosts ensures that you can completely unwind and enjoy to the max! You will want to come back here again and again!
La maison elle-même est superbe et il est clair que sa restauration a fait l'objet de beaucoup de réflexion, la qualité est omniprésente. Nous avons adoré l'arrivée, ce fut une surprise totale. C'est une maison merveilleusement spacieuse, privée et très bien équipée. Des vacances vraiment relaxantes, nous n'avons manqué de rien.

We have just returned from Villa La Baronne where our family of 15 had a wonderful time! The villa is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. It is in an ideal location, less than a 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket.
We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...
C'est l'avis le plus facile et satisfaisant que nous ayons jamais écrit. Mark et Gary sont tout simplement deux des personnes les plus chaleureuses et attentionnées que nous ayons jamais rencontrées. Ils ont créé la plus belle maison dans un cadre rural idéal, si belle qu'elle semble presque trop belle pour être vraie… mais elle est bien réelle. À La Charmante Distillerie, tout invite à la détente et à la relaxation… que ce soit les espaces intérieurs somptueux et luxueux, la piscine et les terrasses attenantes offrant ombre et intimité, ou encore la forêt environnante et le bruissement des feuilles des arbres sous la douce brise rafraîchissante. Les matins et les soirs étaient nos moments préférés : nous nous asseyions et écoutions le silence en savourant un expresso ou un Pineau frais. C'était vraiment idyllique. Nos filles, âgées de 12 et 14 ans, étaient ravies de jouer dans la piscine pendant des heures ou de se détendre sur les terrasses et dans leur petit coin intime, magnifiquement aménagé. Nous aimerions garder La Charmante Distillerie comme notre petit secret et ne la partager avec personne, mais bien sûr, ce n'est pas possible. C'est donc à notre grand regret que nous devons dire à tous ceux qui nous le demandent que nous avons trouvé la destination idéale avec des hôtes parfaits. C'est magnifique.

We returned after 3 years and so glad we did. Another fabulous time - weather not aways in our favour but didn't stop a great holiday again. Two restaurants we would recommend Le Masion Tourbes - great food, lunchtime was very busy, so get there early - very popular with the French. Saint Germain Hotel - excellent food and value. Best value kids menu we have found and adults set menu was great value and for an extra euro you can get 1/4 litre wine! Hope to return again - Love to all.
La maison était incroyable, nous y sommes allés en groupe, 6 adultes et 2 bébés et nous avons tous adoré la maison. Les photos sont fidèles à la réalité. La piscine est belle et parfaite pour les enfants car la partie profonde est encore suffisamment peu profonde pour qu'un adulte puisse se tenir debout. La cuisine est bien équipée et idéale pour cuisiner, il y a aussi un bon barbecue à l'extérieur. Le village local possède une charmante boulangerie, une boucherie et une petite boutique. Monpazier est à seulement 20 minutes en voiture et Fumel à seulement 20 minutes, où se trouve un grand supermarché. Samantha est une hôte formidable, elle était là pour tout ce dont nous avions besoin et nous a même réservé des massages. Nous reviendrons certainement dans la maison de Samantha, merci d'avoir rendu nos premières vacances en 4 ans si spéciales.
Really brilliant week at Mas Saint-Cernin. We have loved the houses, garden, pool, views, sun-rises and sunsets, birds, red squirrels etc etc. The local towns are so pretty and the fantastic markets provided most of our food. Lots of coffee stops. Found it easy to do boulangerie trip. Intermarche just outside Castillonnes was an easy supermarket shop (done on Tuesday after visiting the great market where we got large boxes of peaches, apricots and haricot vert for 5 Euros. Great wine tasting at Les Verdots - wish we had gone there earlier for our wine. La Brucellerie great for a meal. Bikes hired from Bergerac cycle hire, google Apolo cycles. Best to book in advance but really helpful man there. Huge thanks to John and Lesley for providing such wonderful accommodation (they have thought of everything) and for being so warm and helpful all week. We have appreciated your many kindnesses. Hope to return soon.
Merci pour ce agréable séjour au Mas des Rivailles. Notre famille de cinq personnes y a séjourné pendant deux semaines en août 2023 et nous avons passé un très bon moment. Il est très spacieux et moderne, avec toutes les commodités nécessaires pour un séjour confortable. La température de la piscine était parfaite et nous avons trouvé l'eau salée assez agréable. Les transats et l'aménagement de la piscine permettent des moments de détente au bord de la piscine et nous avons apprécié particulièrement la très grande salle de jeux avec table de ping-pong, billard et baby-foot ainsi que de nombreux jouets pour nos trois enfants. Les chambres étaient propres et équipées de draps de qualité et de serviettes moelleuses ainsi que d'un espace de rangement suffisant pour nos affaires. La buanderie/cellier était également très utile pour stocker de la nourriture et laver nos vêtements facilement. Frédéric était serviable et attentif comme toujours et a rendu notre séjour très confortable, faisant venir des ventilateurs supplémentaires lorsque nous en avons fait la demande, car notre séjour coïncidait avec une vague de chaleur. La famille du propriétaire qui vit dans la ferme voisine était très sympathique et serviable et a répondu à tous nos problèmes. L'emplacement de la maison est également idéal pour explorer la région avec de nombreuses villes et activités intéressantes à quelques minutes en voiture. Nous le recommanderons certainement !
