It hardly seems two minutes since we were here in the summer - time goes so fast! As ever, we have had a lovely time and have had some splendid lunches at all our favourite restaurants. The weather was really very good for October - only the odd shower. As always, thank you for your wonderful hospitality - you are such good company.
Fabulous house, beautifully decorated with everything we could possibly need for a lovely holiday. The pool and pool toys were a great hit with our 4 year old. We have holidayed numerous times in France and this was by far the best, from the welcoming email to the comfy beds and linen. Mark and Janet have made this a beautiful holiday home. We had a hot week and made the most of being at home! Thank you for a lovely stay! P.S. The Tuesday night market in Laparade was fun and definitely worth a visit! Our daughter loved her bedroom + the toys kept her occupied in the morning!
Nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour ici ! Nous avons profité des magnifiques couchers de soleil, nous allongeant au bord de la piscine et préparant les repas ensemble. Le chef Arnaud était merveilleux et nous le recommandons vivement. Nous avons visité Duras, Villeneuve-sur-Lot et Saint-Émilion, Sainte-Foy, Bordeaux et le Cap Ferret. Revenir à la villa ici à la fin de la journée nous a toujours donné l'impression d'être à la maison et nous espérons y revenir. C'est notre 10ème anniversaire et cette maison nous a offert de superbes vacances pour un voyage spécial ensemble. Merci d'avoir partagé votre maison.
Je tenais à vous signaler que nous avions été ravis de notre séjour du 5 au 12 août chez cet exploitant vigneron très cordial et motivé. La maison est belle, le site très calme, les balades nombreuses, la piscine agréable.
The chteau is beautiful. Great house for our group of 10 adults and 8 children. lots of room for all of us to be comfortable. Amazing pool and lovely grounds. Kitchen is well equipped.. It is an old property and is well lived in but that isn’t a problem.

Absolutely stunning. We visited the house last summer and had an absolutely amazing time. The house is stunning with views over to Grasse and down toward Cannes. As a family of 5 (children 8, 5 and 12 months), it had everything we needed including a god sized pool and the interiors of the house are beautiful. It is a short drive to the local supermarket and amenities and only 20 minutes drive to the beaches of Cannes and Antibes. Nearby Mougins and Grasse provide an abundance of restaurants. A car is a must as the house is accessed up a steep road but views are spectacular. We can't wait to visit again this summer.

Merci pour ces vacances merveilleusement relaxantes et confortables au Mas Saint-Martial ! Nous sommes une famille de quatre personnes avec des adolescents (plus un chien) et nous avons passé 2 semaines fabuleuses à la maison. La piscine était le point culminant - chauffée, eau salée et entièrement fermée pour la sécurité - des moments fantastiques en famille et des souvenirs créés en jouant ensemble. Le terrain de pétanque, de badminton et le barbecue étaient également d'excellents moyens de nous divertir. Les propriétaires vivent une partie de l'année dans la maison voisine et sont extrêmement réactifs, solidaires et accueillants tout en vous laissant suffisamment d'espace pour profiter de l'isolement et de la paix des lieux. En termes de restaurants, il y a beaucoup d'endroits à des prix très raisonnables à une courte distance en voiture - il y a aussi beaucoup de bons endroits à visiter - Aubeterre (avec un parcours de golf de 9 trous) et Brantôme étaient des points forts pour nous. Nous avons même marché jusqu'au restaurant local de 5 plats Chez Moran, qui était incroyable et pas cher! Leurs événements nocturnes occasionnels avec de la musique et le fourgon fish and chips sont très amusants. Un vrai bijou, ce lieu. Merci!
We have had a wonderful time in this super villa. Very relaxing. Collioure is still as pretty as ever, we had our honeymoon here 20 years ago!

C'est un endroit merveilleux où séjourner : en tant que couple, avons passé deux semaines à Carcavi en septembre 2022. Nous voulions une pause tranquille offrant confort et luxe et la maison correspondait à tout ce que nous espérions et plus encore. La maison elle-même est très bien équipée et dispose de fauteuils confortables et d'un bon lit :-) Carcavi est spacieuse et belle, le terrain est vaste et la piscine est superbe. C'est très paisible. Il y avait un généreux panier de nourriture et de boissons pour notre début de séjour. L'ensemble de la propriété est excellement entretenu. Il y a beaucoup d'informations disponibles à la maison et bien sûr encore davantage auprès des hôtes Rupert et Debbie. Nous avons beaucoup lu, profitant des différents endroits pour nous asseoir, nous avons nagé et M a examiné avec enthousiasme les plantes et invertébrés locaux variés. Nous avons apprécié les promenades dans les bois et la vallée à proximité. Merci beaucoup à Rupert et Debbie de nous avoir permis d'utiliser le téléphone de la maison pour appeler la pharmacie de garde lors d'un besoin urgent, cela a été vraiment apprécié.
Stunning renovation, not a person or light in front of us, fresh linen, ample space to relax and a place where we all could unwind with the family, we will be back again. 100%.
A challenging end of year led to my very last minute search for somewhere special to stay for Christmas. We jumped for joy when your Loft showed as available for 8 days arriving on Christmas Eve. Throughout the five hour drive from Cannes, I stressed about finding a tree and decorations to make the holiday perfect. To my utter AMAZEMENT, the Loft had been fully decorated beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you so much for all your very thoughtful and generous touches. As a seriously experienced traveller, I can assure you that exceptionally few hosts go to the same lengths as yourselves. You made our Christmas very SPECIAL and, dare I say, UNFORGETTABLE! Thank you so much - keep on keepin’ on! Christmas 2022.
Have had a wonderful holiday, very restful and really enjoyed the pool especially on a hot day. Enjoyed visiting Sète, Agde and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Would love to return on day. Absolutely loved the pool and the garden. Would recommend Les Polmiers and Pézenas is a beautiful town!
We have had at the perfect family holiday at Le Manoir de Duras. The tomatoes from the garden were a delicious bonus! We all loved the pool and laying on the sun beds late a night watching the stars. Has some great meals in town and daily boulangerie too. A trip to the chocolate factory is a must. perfect on a rainy day for the kids! The house is absolutely stunning. were all agree one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you.

This is our second family holiday in this wonderful house. The welcome from Ian and Hugh when we arrived was excellent. The house and garden are beautifully cared for and the standard of accommodation is 'five star'. It felt like home from home rather than a soleless rental property. Having the owners on site was a plus as they where able to guide us with local activities and restaurant recommendations... there is a lot to do in this area and being so close to some of the best wine regions in the world is definitely a big plus. We also has a lovely day in Bordeaux, which is an easy drive or train journey and well worth the effort. We plan to return next year for our summer break and I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful peaceful haven to anyone wishing to experience the best in hospitality! Thank you Ian and Hugh, you have created something very special!
I found peace in both the house and the surrounding area. The house itself felt like home. And the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just a short walk / bike ride away was charming and welcoming, to say the least. Located centrally, I found that the entire South of France was accessible, though I never wanted to leave lovely Mas de Pitou. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
Thank you Karen and Russell for giving us the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place. The Loft du Vigneron is one of the nicest places we have stayed, and we have stayed in many. The warm welcome we received when we arrived was lovely after our tiring journey. It was great to have you show us around, and your welcome pack was more than generous. The facilities here are all 5-Star; the Loft is spacious and airy, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and crockery and everything that you need, and more besides. All the ensuite bathrooms are of the highest standard with fluffy towels and pamper products (I want a new bathroom when I go home - I was spoiled here). Karen and Russell, you really know how to look after your guests and spoil them. We can't wait to come back next year for two weeks - one was not enough!
5 sur 5 ! Très calme avec piscine en plein cœur d'un joli petit village - Jardin très bien entretenu et fleuri avec superbe vue sur la Dordogne - Décoration intérieure - Accueil sympathique - Situation géographique (30mn de Sarlat-la-Canéda ou de Domme) - La région est superbe et les activités sont nombreuses : visites de châteaux ou de villes, balades en vélo ou en canoë... Bref à recommander!
We stayed with our 2 children aged 5 and 7 and had a wonderful time. There are plenty of things to do nearby and the accomodation was well equiped and great for a family holiday. The pool is wonderful for long hot afternoons and there is lots of outdoor space to explore. The hosts were very helpful and I would recommend this place to my friends.
Nous venons de passer un merveilleux séjour de dix jours au Château des Grillauds avec nos trois enfants (âgés de 8, 7 et 5 ans). Le château et le parc sont absolument magnifiques et parfaits pour des vacances paisibles (sauf pour les enfants). Les enfants ont adoré et sont restés dans la piscine toute la journée et s'endormaient chaque soir en regardant des films dans le salon à l'étage, tandis que les adultes appréciaient le charme élégant de la maison et (quelques bouteilles de) produits locaux. J'ai failli ne pas écrire de critique parce que je voulais garder secret ce joyau de maison, mais nous ne saurions trop le recommander. Des remerciements particuliers sont dus aux voisins d'à côté qui nous ont accueillis et n'auraient pas pu être plus serviables ou de meilleure compagnie pendant notre séjour ; y compris nous emmener au Pizou pour la fête locale du mardi soir. En résumé, dix jours magiques - j'ai hâte de revenir.
Nous ne pouvons pas dire suffisamment de bonnes choses sur Les Fumerates ou ses propriétaires. Nous avons adoré la propriété ! Tout dans la villa est bien aménagé. Les propriétaires ont été exceptionnellement serviables et soucieux de répondre à toutes nos questions, préoccupations, etc. Ils sont tous deux très dévoués afin que leurs clients apprécient leur séjour et qu'ils disposent de tout ce dont ils ont besoin, etc. Nous reviendrons certainement dans la région et quand nous le ferons, notre premier choix pour les locations ce sera ici ! Merci pour ce bon début de nos 2 semaines en France !
Can't believe we have to leave our new home in Najac. The château is magnificent—striking and enormous, yet cozy and welcoming; an easy walk to the lovely village, yet splendidly private and quiet on its own hill. Amazing views, spotlessly clean, superbly equipped and with the best pool we've ever had! The only thing that matches the château and setting is the warm, attentive and super-knowledgeable welcome and help from Henrietta and her team. They helped us to make the most of our stay. Those extra-mile touches made all the difference and we really appreciated them. We loved getting to know this part of France, which seems to combine so many of the wonderful things from the more 'discovered' regions, adding a twist or 2, delivered with a smile.
